Walkers are my favorite. Love that eagle. However, purely for stacking silver of course it has to be the Kennedy, simply because it has the least premium! I mean it is objectively the best in that sense.
Its a hard choice between the Kennedy’s and Benjie’s for me.The Kennedy’s because they were only 90% silver for 1964 and Benjies because there isn’t another coin like it.I will say I like like stacking half dollars the best. They are a good size and not too expensive
Stacking? 1964 Kennedy’s. Least wear means most silver. In AU 58+ for collecting? 1. It’s really hard to top the Walking Liberty half. 2. Capped Bust. 3. Draped Bust obverse.
A few months ago my lcs was selling barber dimes, quarters and halves for .50 cent over regular junk. I bought as much as could afford. Oh junk was going for $18 at the time from them. I also stacked as many rosie dimes as could get hands on while junk was being sold for $17 fv before this last price rise.
Kennedy halves, like Washington Quarters and Roosevelt dimes, will always be the worst choices for 90% stacking, because they continued to be produced with reduced or removed silver content. This will confuse everyone who is not a coin dealer or an informed silver stacker (like all of us here). Your grandchildren will spend them for lunch money. Choose the discontinued designs.
This is true in those situations. For the short term though it's fine if you plan to sell them back to a coin shop if you ever needed to. That's why people have a deep stack separate from their stack.
I buy 90% mostly for barter purposes if SHTF. With that in mind, I stack Franklins. They were only minted out of 90% silver, unlike most Kennedy half dollars, but still contain nearly all of their original silver content. If I'm bartering with someone who isn't that silver savvy and there's no longer any Google, I might have a harder time using 1964 Kennedys than Franklins since the years 1965-1970 were only minted in 40% silver. That's never a question with Franklins.
Very interesting! I think I would have chosen walkers instead of barbers and Franklin instead of Kennedy. Your point about police of the Barbers being expensive in good condition causes me to prefer walkers and the fact that Kennedy is only 90% silver for one year causes me to prefer Franklins. Between the Walkers and Franklins… I actually really like the Walkers. A little more expensive but I love Lady Liberty coins.
I like I like the Barber, but if you want to get anything that's not a slick, you're going to pay anywhere from 2 to 5 times what it's worth at melt. I also like the Walking Liberty, but I think the Franklin half is the best overall half dollar. The biggest downfall of the '64 Kennedy is that it looks exactly like all of the clad Kennedys that have been minted for a record 53+ years in their clad form. Franklin is the winner in my book. If there were a face-off, it would be between the Walking Liberty and the Franklin half dollar. I'm closing in on 600 half dollars, but I only stack the Walking Liberty, Franklin, and '64 Kennedy. Any Barbers that I snag are put into ancillary stacks that I keep outside my core position in Silver to insulate it from having to be sold on in all but the most dire of emergencies. I keep them proportional, which means that I try to have an equal number of all. I'm a little light on Kennedys and Walking Libertys currently, but I'll take care of that over time. I did buy a Barber a few weeks back for about $11, but it went in with a lot of other near slick Barbers.
Thanks for sharing... I mostly have Franklins also because I look at Junk Silver for worst case scenario. Kennedy 64 is just cooler looking and same price with no wear... basically more silver weight. Assuming you just want to sell Kennedy's later on to a LCS without an Apocalypse situation happening they would be the best.
I would go with the 64 Kennedy because it was a horrible day when he was shot down by multiple shooters in dealey plaza, it was a ritual killing. That gives the coin significant value in a lot of ways. Jfk also has a 3/4 gold coin that looks just like a 1964 Kennedy so that gets my nod For my favorite. Very interesting video, In second place for me is the walking liberty, it's an American classic and it goes back to the early 30s. I think my third favorite would be the classic Franklin, I love the reverse on that coin, I really enjoyed this video and I will subscribe. Thank you so much and have a great weekend! To all of you Stackers, keep stacking, don't let spot price scare you, buy silver and gold, It's real money, God's money, not green pieces of paper that people break their backs for. Precious Meadows offers inherent wealth and intrinsic value, when you buy precious metals, you are not spending money, you are simply transferring your Fiat into real. Buy PMs When the price is high, you buy it when the price is low, don't sell unless you absolutely have to. Rest in peace JFK. Besides 911, that was probably one of the most shocking days in American history.
Stacking is great. Paying a little more for a coin that gives you joy is cool, too. I've got some proofs as a collector's hedge. At least that's what I tell myself. lol My vote... 1964 JFK
I find myself paying up more for premium silver here and there... FEELS GREAT! Haha I'm sure you admire those proofs, as we all admire art... it's human nature to appreciate beauty.
I have a few seated liberty as well capped bust from 1819.I also have a few Barber halves, more walkers, a large stack of Franklin and a small stack of 1964 Kennedy.
I believe you dipped into your rum a little too deep. You have my bench warmers in the finals. IMO list 1. Walkers 2. Franklins 3. Barbers 4. Kennedys I do agree they will be a preferred stacking coin for the future.
That's funny and you're welcome to voice your opinion on this channel. But why the Walkers? they are worn... I just buy American Silver Eagles to get pristine Walking Liberty design on a coin.
I believe that's why the ASE's look like Walker's, they are the transcending design. Most are worn a bit, so the actual silver content is lower, but I've seen slicks of Barber's and I'll defer to the slick Walker for the same price. Just my preference, and having a little fun with the comments. Great video, I subbed, as it's the 1st time I've came across your channel. 👍
Battle of the HALVES ! 😁👍👍 good to be a HAVE than a HAVE NOT . Holders of PM will be afforded choices🤗 Enjoying witnessing the greatest transfer of wealth in human history of Earth in this dimension. Don't forget to get some ASE

Ooh the 1st in thumbail ie left farthest one or if not at best then at least the very 3rd or second/middle to the right one because of how the left center and far right just look like the same you can get by any modern coin from usa in halves being the silverv or circ respectively.. but yeah though any if silver are really good fwiw.. but even in circulation the 2002 to 219 or 2020? Ones of regular kennedy halves are fairly neat I know nowdays to keep fwiw.
Ohhh ph oh I forgot to mention the second farthest to left or left center are the design of modern LARGE or IKE sized dollar cpins roughly same size but yeah of [modern & LARGE] one dollar coins of the us but the kennedy for halves on circ intended even modern halves are same design.. just metal differs but yeah... so the oldest design feels so qaint.
The Walker is by far the most beautiful but I also enjoy Franklins aswell.
Franklin's are great! The Walking liberty looks just like American Silver Eagles and I have plenty of those.
For beauty of the design it is the walkers. For stacking the Franklin halves.
Exactly.
I like Franklin halves the most, because they were only minted in 90% silver and the design is recognizable
Benjis are my favorite. Lower premium and no insanely expensive key dates
Walkers are my favorite. Love that eagle. However, purely for stacking silver of course it has to be the Kennedy, simply because it has the least premium! I mean it is objectively the best in that sense.
Great video! Halves are my favorite 90%. I can't pick a favorite but I love the Franklin and Kennedy BU proofs I have.
I love them all!
Mint state condition, Barbers hands down.
DEFINITELY!
Benjies have grown on me.. must be that mullet.. however walking liberties are sweet.. ive been picking up peace dollars and morgans lately.
I agree with you on your point on half dollars in the future, happy stacking brother!
That day might come sooner than we think.. Keep Thy Treasure Close Matey!
The 64 Kennedy is my favorite too
Great half Dollar face off 🥈👍🇺🇲
Thanks, I think these coins will face off till the end of time! After reading everyone's comments.
For stacking, 64 Kennedy's. For best design, the Walkers by far. For the cheapest silver half to put together a Dansco album, the Franklin's.
Shop around. My lcs only charges $2 higher over $1 face for barbers and no extra premium for walking liberty. All based on average circulation coins.
I do, but no coin shop has the same prices. Some shops have better deals on certain items. Glad you found a better deal!
Its a hard choice between the Kennedy’s and Benjie’s for me.The Kennedy’s because they were only 90% silver for 1964 and Benjies because there isn’t another coin like it.I will say I like like stacking half dollars the best. They are a good size and not too expensive
I should start buying Half dollars 🤔
Good narrative! Goodonyas!

1. It’s really hard to top the Walking Liberty half.
2. Capped Bust.
3. Draped Bust obverse.
Kennedy's have more weight absolutely due to less wear over time.
Thank you ❤
This was awesome!!

AYE!
Kennedy’s because they’re heavier since they haven’t been worn down as much
This is hard, I like all 4

Franklins are easier in a barter situation with someone without silver knowledge for sure!
The same logic applies to Roosevelt dimes and Washington quarters, because people still spend them.
Franklin halves are arguably the plainest coin ever minted in the US, and I like them the most. Maybe because My Dad's name was Ben.
I like them a lot. I think I'll get a roll of them soon.
Cant say I dislike any of them but I prefer the Franklins over the rest.
I love all half dollars, funny thing is, if forced to pick, JFK would be my fourth choice!
I want a Roll of them and then I'll be at peace.
Walkers for me!
THE BARBER.I SAY!
I just wish I could find Barber's cheap and not worn down 😅
Very interesting! I think I would have chosen walkers instead of barbers and Franklin instead of Kennedy. Your point about police of the Barbers being expensive in good condition causes me to prefer walkers and the fact that Kennedy is only 90% silver for one year causes me to prefer Franklins.

Bought the first two because of my parents birth years, 1917 and 1920 !

I disagree but I do like all but Kennedy is so so
Franklin's and Kennedy's are the lowest in price. Barber is my favorite but too much premium.
Only your opinion.
AYE! I appreciate everyone's point of view!
Boo.... Benjamin's are silver on sight. The rest need explanation. Too much info for the average public.
Benjamin is for barter for sure.
Franklins least favorite.
