I discovered these guys bc of Dead Meat talking about Funeral Derangements and I have been listening to Silver Scream 1/2 for the last few months. Fantastic albums, really loving watching these dudes rise in popularity
man, I love hearing these stories on how the band breaks through. these guys deserve it all. incredibly original sounding, and hard working. love that they kept fighting for it!
So glad you mentioned The Fastest Way to a Girl's Heart is Through Her Ribcage. That's one of the first INK songs/videos I knew & still a favorite of mine.
I've gotten into so many new and exciting bands due to these type of podcasts. I get tired of listening to the same bands and genres of music over and over but you've helped me make some new and fun playlists to get into. Thanks for your high quality forms of entertaiment. You've made my and many others Fridays much more exciting and it always makes the end of the grind of work weeks that much more enjoyable. Your podcasts and Electric/Acoustic Happy Hours are so fun. Thanks again for helping us all get through these weird and crazy times! Cheers 🥂
Silverchair is very underrated. They were one of my favorites. Spencer’s story sounds almost like a mirror image of my life. Except my band never made it that far. Listened to the same bands growing up. I started in 80’s rock and watching mtv at the age of 3 until mtv is the joke it is now. I’m even a big fan of horror movies and have been since I was very little. Then I was turned onto punk rock, then pop punk and post hardcore. Then killswitch engage and as I lay dying. Hell my band was even really popular at our high school and we played the school dances. Played several shows and opened for a lot of big bands like whitechapel, fit for an autopsy, parkway drive, and a day to remember. But never made it past that. And how the band is no longer together. I’m glad Spencer had success. I love ice nine kills.
I absolutely love Spencer and INK! Their music is fantastic and I relate to it so much cause I my self am a big fan of horror. Thank you for this great interview! Looking for some more INK interviews in the future, next time maybe with the whole band! 🥰😘 Sending much love! Greetings from Bulgaria! 🤗
Silverchair really is under rated. I love their music, and was amazed when I found out how young they were. I was like damn! I wouldn't mind a reunion and some new music from them. Also, I cannot wait for the Take Your Pick video! It feels like forever since the last one. I still wish there was going to be a video for Farewell II Flesh, though. Love INK, and Spencer!
Awesome Episode, i just recently checked it out for the first time but damn im addicted now! Try to get Vessel form Sleep Token for a Interview, this could be a really interesting one!
Great episode 🤘🏻 as usual Robb. Spencer seems like a very genuine and humble guy. Great conversation. Please get Tim Armstrong of Rancid on this show sometime. Mike Smith of Suffocation. The Tardy brothers of Obituary please too. And Chino Moreno of Deftones. Also Dave Lombardo please.
It's funny because the 1st ice 9 kills show I went to there was a band called don't bite your tongue following the entire ice 9 kills tour and that's what they did to warp tour. It's funny how the tables turned.
If you like that Miles (You Betcha) you should check out their RUclips channel as well as a bunch of the other guys in the "dad" scene. Funny as hell. Charlie, Dude Dad, all those are gonna give you stomach cramps.
Hey Robbio! Great stuff as always. I have a few requests/recommendations if that's cool? Mike IX Williams the vocalist of the New Orleans "sludge metal/punk" band EyeHateGod. Any members of EHG would be pretty awesome to see on here. The sexy bassist of White Zombie fame (Sean Yselt???) I forget her last name but she's awesome.
Robb, that guy is funny! I can take a joke, but how about the wifey works 8 hours out of the house then comes home makes dinner, make sure the kids do their homework, are bathed, laundry gets folded and put away, make lunches and has time for you guys too.🥵
I discovered this band kinda later in their career and I was all, who do they remind me of? Oh, only every sick metal band I've ever heard spanning 4 decades- fuckers. Jk, I'm just jealous
Oh, man! Ride my bike at he woods all the time. Once it was a nice little brick building, I’m like cool! Open the door and 10 large spiders were all over the toilet, being a woman having to sit down, I had gloves on used them to fan all the spiders away. Absolutely panicking the whole time I was peeing.

His parents bought him Manson.... Wow. No wonder he's such a cool dude. Great interview!
I was raised on Sabbath, Floyd, Who, AC/DC and Stones, couldn’t imagine a better era.
I’m a huge fan of horror movies🤘👻💀

Never heard of them either, if they were pop ska I would have passed them over. One of the few genres I never got into.
