One of a Kind
I’m glad Kevin likes this album so much, and enjoyed making it, maybe found a more sustainable way of making music. I can’t wait to see the live versions. I just think currents was closer to perfection in terms of lyrics and songwriting. Slow rush production sounds quite ground breaking to me.
Agreed. I like Currents as an album more, but there are some sounds and production tricks on this that are just wow. The drums may be the best I've heard.
the guitar with the synth bass on one more hour is one of the best things ive ever heard
Yeah that song is really good and I can’t explain why. There’s nothing obvious to point to. I guess it’s just really well made.
8:47
for those borderline drums
THE BASSLINE
Love the Daft Punk remix of Borderline, Sounds mint!
I will have to check that out. I didn't even know that existed. I really like some of the remixes Kevin did for his impala sound system+ I've been a DJ for over 20 years and I would totally love to play his music to walk home to sound system remix. It is so fresh! Definite vinyl release needed
11:30 Kevin saying about daft punk is heartwarming
Awesome - this was really interesting. Besides being the birthplace of the Breath Deeper bass riff, Gelson's Los Feliz is also the site of the original Disney Studio, where Mickey Mouse was invented, along with the world's first sound cartoon and every animated feature through Fantasia.
Linda: If you think I couldn't hold my own, believe me...
Kevin: 20:46
believe me
Kevin Parker truly is a very very special artist 🤧🤌🏾🔥… A LIVING LEGEND (calling him a genius at this point should be a given)

underrated video. cool to see that even kevin likes to get the freshness of inspiration of his tracks down mistakes and all. extremely inspiring video, nice to see kevin talk about how he makes music and what he was going for. this and the pitchfork percussion video with him are extremely well made.
so cool to hear all the instruments
A video of this would have been awesome. He was probably was triggering his Ableton Live tracks, and I'm so curious about his settings.
hes intentionally secretive about his production
