Well I know all about growing sweet pepper trees! I grew two indoors in nutrient rich water over two winters and they were 8ft tall and 4 ft wide and one was a coral orange bell pepper and the other was a red lipstick lunchbox size pepper and I absolutely LOVED growing peppers year round in Canada! I had them against a south facing window and I had grow lights above them and they absolutely thrived! I hand pollinated them and I had so much fun picking a sweet pepper in the middle of winter. If there’s a will there’s a way! God bless you!❤️🥰🇨🇦🙏🏻🍁

Great idea for the electroculture rods by each. I'll have to do that in the spring. Thanks Mr Danny and Ms Wanda for all you do. This oldster has learned a lot from you.

About that tomato plant, you could snip some of those branches off bring inside and put in some water to root in case you lose your plant , also there is a product called wallo water which surrounds the plant with these connected tube's of water that will protect your plant during freeze. It would be sad if you lose all that produce to the freeze.

Miss Wanda, I know what you mean about a freezer full of chopped peppers, hot n sweet, both. Sure is nice being able to pull them out over winter for omelettes, meatloaves, fritattas, what have you. I also grow two plants & a couple cherry tomatoes inside over winter, in a bright sunny window, with overnight plant lights, too. Fresh is best, of course, but frozen is next best. Looks like we're getting a dry winter, not really any real rain here yet, this past December...20 plus year drought here in central CA. It could flood here and it wouldn't touch our water (aquifer that they pumped down to nothing) deficit, here. There are places not far from here where the ground has sunk, due to the water having been pumped out, turns out you can see this from space, with instruments.
Happy 2025, thank you for all the work you put into your videos. You don't know how many times I come home from work and turn off the news, (I leave it on while I'm at work for Bear, the dog. It gives him comfort to think someones home) and put on Deep South ....anything!

I’m getting my garden in the end of April and then I can go as far as maybe the end of September or October after that it’s cold again too cold for a garden.. I cut up my cucumbers and onions and freeze them because I like making stirfry and then I put them in eggs in the winter time saves me from having to buy them. Thanks for sharing. I sure wish that I had still going my garden. God bless you both.

All those peppers and broccoli. YUMMY!

If it gets as cold as they are saying it will be I'm afraid the covers for my outside beds won't be much help, but I'll do it anyway. Going to harvest my fall/winter potatoes on Saturday because I know they will be mush after the freeze. I put them in a little late so not expecting big potatoes, but I know there's potatoes in there because I scratched around a little.

Before the bell peppers freeze, pick them all and dehydrate them. Good for stuffed bell pepper casserole. Just like clothing, you can layer around that volunteer tomato. A blanket close to the leaves and a wind/cold break outside. Wanda, that's gonna be one fine stir fry. Slice some beef thin and stir fry it with sliced onions to go with it. My rows are a lot shorter. I don't have anything planted this year, but I have covered my rows with straw and then put a weighted down tarp over the straw. Happy New Year.

Danny, your broccoli is putting mine to shame, but then the cabbage moths hit mine pretty hard this year. Will cover them next year. Anyway back to those temps you have heading your way. Here's what I do.for any peppers or tomatoes, celery, onions, tender greens, what have you, that I worry about getting hit by a hard freeze.
You know how you can see steam rise from compost piles, or fresh chipped branches, or manure piles? Well, I pack about 3 months worth of rabbit pellets and bedding and fresh wood chips around my tender plants, before covering them with plastic. Using rabbit manure keeps this composting material from becoming ...fragrant, or plants being burned by the nitrates in it. Raises the temps 8-10 degrees, just enough to overwinter stuff for fresh eating, over winter into February, while keeping plants from freezing. Feeds the plants pretty well, too.

Is there not anyway you could heat the high tunnel? Candles in clay pots? I know there is not electricity run but it seems like there should be some way to get a small amount of heat in there.

Celery and pepper seeds are available online. The variety Danny and Wanda are talking about is called Fooled You, and there’s another called Nadapeno. Both are heatless jalapeños.
