Immigrants, Emigrants, and Me is in my top ten albums of all time. It came out when I was 21. I’m 54 now and I still listen to it all the way through all the time. Such a perfect album on so many levels.
I directed this video aged 21 - I use the word directed loosely :) - but the band could not have been nicer. The budget was under two hundred quid as I recall so we just went to Hampstead Heath and found some cool buildings to film in front of and stuck it together with footage we shot that same night at Brixton Academy where POD were supporting Neds Atomic Dustbin. Good times!
Great! Thanks for your comment. It was a very very small budget, but the result couldn't be better for this song, somehow it really captures and creates the right atmosphere. I remember seeing this for the first time on MTV Europe'2 120 Minutes with Paul King, I was stunned. And the place you went to film is very similar to a place nearby my house, where I used to go to listen to indie music with my portable cassette player. It became one of my favourite indie songs, and I fell in love with the video.
Just found out, it is "Golders Hill Park" (thanks to you and Google maps) and the live concert took place on the 13th of December 1992 (thanks to you and a Japanese Ned's Atomic Dustbin fansite where all gigs are listed).
Me and 3mates came over from Wales to cork and ended up in a party back at the place they were allocated for the weekend, great gig great party.they probably don't remember US 4 Welsh madmen.cracking night.we may have destroyed some of the property also...our bad please forgive us..it was 20 odd years ago..sir Henry's and reds still going strong???
I first heard this on the Radio One evening session exactly 30 years ago tonight. I only remember as it was the night my niece was born. Top track, Great video. Brilliant times.
I can't believe this, but this is the first time I've seen the whole of this video. I remembered only seeing a bit of the video on the ITV Chart Show's Indie Chart in January 1993, where they only played it briefly, before moving onto another song. I didn't know the name of the song at that time, because they called it the Second Son EP. But thanks to RUclips, I know now !!

Such a great song. Saw them live in NYC back in 93; amazing gig and nice bunch of guys
Thanks for posting this, fell in love with this song back in 1992 or so on 120 Minutes. Time is no one's friend.
Really underrated band..... remember seeing them at the Windsor Old Trout in the early nineties....
I seen these in Reading 92
Bloody hell! I haven't heard this since 1992! I remember the video now...I most likely saw it on 120 Minutes. Brings me back to Dublin in '92.
