What do you think about being able to run around naked, something not even cyberprank could do? Its the really only unique gameplay added to the DOS formula.
Bg3 will go down as a classic, hands down.
You could increase your frames and improve render times by quite a lot with a CPU upgrade.
7XXX Series is on the "too slow" side for a 4080.

I have played for 12 hours already and have not yet wrapped up the druid grove or the swamp right at the beginning. This game is so crazily immersive and massive.

Wolf....You have a knack for addressing everything i would have asked about. You are, at least for me, the best ambassador to BG...all Fantasy Video games now. I thank you for your excellent coverage and community. BG3 is probably the biggest game release in my lifetime for me. BG1 was the first video game i bought, The developers also made my fav game of all time storywise in Planescape:torment where i learned of the astral planes & Gith and the Layers of Hell. Of course i was a drizzt fan in the 90's so to see him in bg1 & 2 was special. Then i started my D&D 5e love affair in 2017 as a DM and player. Now i teach 5e and will always gravitate to communities like the wolfpack. Again I thank you. F=Fantasy P=Performer S= Storyteller ...AWOOO!! Kudos to Larian as well my fav developer now! Time to re-install...Lets GO!!!!

I was shocked the number of changes they added in, which included voiced dialogue, that they had different than what you got on EA. Made even Act I feel fresh to a degree.
I'm definitely looking forward to all that extra content, especially Act Two and Three.

Wolfheart, connect the nerves of the transponder! We have an amazing adventure ahead of us. I subscribed in January and I have probably watched all your let's plays up to the Blighted village section, plus all your guides and lore videos. Compared to most other creators, I valued this the most:
- Not skipping dialogue,
- Not speaking over NPC's, letting them tell the story
- True love and respect for RPG's (it shows in all your LP's)
- Very good grasp of D&D mechanics and ability to explain them to us (5th Ed.translates really well to a Larian game, homebrew aspects included)
You were the main guy that I wanted to watch this week.
Will really miss old Wyll, I hope Wyll 2.0 is as cool for me, genocidal goblins better get ready for what's coming to them

Interesting to hear you didn’t like wyll that much. While his reactions seem to align with a simple/boring character, I felt his origin story could possibly be the most enticing to discover first. As such, he will be my first baked in origin character playthrough. Which also makes me extremely glad they touched him up specifically
Honestly same, I was interested in his EA version and I still find his story interesting in the full-release remake. He's not super different but enough of a change to add a little flavor.

One of my favorite examples of early game comedy is inside the Druid area you can talk to a guy interviewing a bear but if you cast Speak To Animals you’d see the bear is talking about totally different things than what the guy interviewing him is saying
Nice one Wolf, yep please don’t speed run it, take your time and we’ll follow along with you. I’m totally new to this sort of thing so learning as I go (forgot to save frequently, made a sneak attack on the devil dude stood by that companion in the cage, cut scene kicked in, managed to talk them out of killing her, cut scene ended, the two devil people attacked me!, not happy about that, reload is back on the beach…DOH!)….glad to hear even the pros worry about their choices 😜….should I have saved that brain thing?….and why is the version number font so darn big? 😝🤪

Legit been killing time waiting for THIS specific review to come out. BG3 is finally here. Lets go!
One thing I did notice is that when leveling up, at the points where you can choose a subclass, it chooses for you initially. You have the opportunity to change it but I feel it should keep it as a choice that you have to make, because if you aren’t paying attention you could miss it. I am having a lot of fun and finding new and different things happening in act 1 as compared to EA.
it only does that for Origin characters. I'm playing a custom Warlock and it didn't default to anything when leveling
@@JondarKorric I am playing a ranger and at level 3 it chose beast master but I wanted gloom stalker. I did notice it so I was able to fix it. I think warlock picks the subclass right away so it's not an issue there.
I ended up with a bug in the Grove. To avoid it, if you come across a tiefling child that threatens you by counting down from 10, just leave. Otherwise, later one, when walking through the Grove, and even during the celebration, multiple characters will be approached by a tiefling that will threaten you for messing with their children. You'll have a chance at deception, but the target is a flat 20. If you have a Barbarian, you get another option way to talk yourself out of it but that roll is always high af. The only other option is to attack, and that will make all tiefling in the grove/at your party hostile towards you.
i didn t play the EA for a while and was surprised by all the change they made to the Tutorial/introduction part of the game. Way more cinematic with well introduced tutorial
First dice roll on the nautiloid was a 1…. Gonna be a great play through
If BG3 gets a "make your own adventure" or dungeon master mode it will make for infinite replayability

Before the game released I could consistently find the information I was curious about on this channel and now that it's released I am glad to see I can continue doing that.
Thanks for this initial review video! Its great to get your 1st impressions of the game and its "state". I expect "bugs" in new games because game developers just can't test on "thousands" of different computers during development. Its how a game developer reacts to "bugs" that is important and it sounds like Larian is doing it right!
For sure, the only issue I've seen from more than just a couple people was the trouble with steam syncing to the game for saves but I think this just a steam cloud issue, I was able to fix it by restarting Steam so it was easy and I haven't experienced any bug since. Such a great release.
Did not play EA, since I knew, it would be a better experience to experience it from start to finish, instead of enjoying just a small bit before release. Glad I had the patience to do just that. Playing it the first time today, my first impressions is great! Not sure how I like the camp system tied to spells. But I still need to progress, to have more options using spells.
I’m having a ball so far. I’m nearly level 8 on my party. From an OG D&D pen and paper player, brilliant story!
Great first impression review. I agree that we should have more face presets & there are some bugs that have slipped through EA as well. But like you, I am enjoying myself too much to care about these minor issues.
Larian has made something special here. And for the first time in a long while, I'm gad I bought the game on Launch. I am not disappointed at all.
After I downloaded the game yesterday I hit all of the main quest areas and cleaned out the goblin camp and temple. One thing that was really cool was the game told me that I was under leveled when I attempted to zone over to the Githyanki creche (possibly the Shadow-cursed lands?) I guess I'll go the Underdark>Grym Forge route.
Glad you're not rushing the game for content and are just choosing to enjoy it at your own pace!
Looking forward to the PS5 release. Cannot wait!

I've played up to the crypt in Act 1 so far (got Gale, Shadowheart, and Astarion). Things have changed a bit. They added some things... removed some others. Enjoying the hell out of it!

Man, as a gaming veteran and BG fan I haven't been this excited for a game in a long time. My PC is ready, my body is ready. LET'S GO!
Speaking of bugs, I ran into one. Everytime I go to long rest its states someone still wants to talk. I have talked to everyone, only thing I can think of is from kicking someone out of my camp that I never spoke to.

My one critique so far would be the Dialog of a certain Weary Traveller; curious if Ed would want corrections to any of that (you to ye, your to thy, etc)
I had a big where when I had shadow heart apply Guidance to my character before a dialogue before the bridge dragon with meeting it caused me to become encombered and have penalty on rolls. It was puting 87 things in a backpack and it said I was 2000 lbs over weight. Haha. I tried variations but gave up and had to go a bit back in saves to make it go away and I found all Laezels gearing in the camp thank goodness as it also dropped her equipment there instead of in her body. But other than another bug on main character death during a fight ...it's been an enjoyable experience. I never had any bugs noticed during early access the last 3 months.
2 things that Dragon Age/Bioware developers can do better- 1. Voiced MC in all conversations and dialogue choices 2. Character Faces more indepth creations. I cant wait for Dreadwolf... they have been working for this next game for years! but definitely gonna play this game BG3 while waiting!

I personally can forgive these bugs, and I think it is important to highlight that these are not bugs of lazyness but bugs of ambition :P
The new Wyll is vastly improved over the old Wyll! I have him as a continuous party member (for the first time) and it has been tremendous upgrade over the EA Wyll. I've noticed quite a few cut scene glitches but I expect Larian will get these things ironed out. My party make up is not what I was planning. My 10 strength Rogue couldn't get Gale out of the portal so I don't know if he's gone from the game or will show up later? I did not recruit Astarion or Lazael (saving them and their dialog for a Dark Urge play-through) I almost started over but I'm glad I didn't because my party of Shadowheart, Wyll and my Rogue has been fun. Now I need to go find Karlach! Thanks Wolf for all you do! Thanks for creating spoiler free full release content and thank you Larian for creating this wonderful masterpiece!
Had some instances I had to restart game as FPS started tank and crawl out of nowhere. And sometime the UI vanished, and a few cut scenes where the actors was not there, or just had a black screen.
10:54 Bioware must have gone through hell with their character creation for Dragon Age Inquisition in that regard then lol
2 Hours in and not picked up any major bugs, just a few hair and outfit glitches. So far, so smooth
I have started watching your channel not too long ago after finishing Divinity 2 and deciding to jump into BG3. I love the way you present the information and your passion. Thank you for all the info and cant wait for you to present us with more. Looking forward to watch your Lets Play and how itll differ from mine. Im going Paladin Oath of Vengeance with Dark Surge and intend to follow my Oath as best as I can and be good as I can to fight the dark urge :)

I was 75 hours into EA
I’m about 15 hours into the full release.
Still in act 1, still found a whole new area I never discovered by speaking to the dead more.

Started as Astarion main and one of my choices accidentally permanently killed a party member in the temple on the beach so… already had to go back and do some things over.
I'm currently starting my first playthrough of Baldur's Gate 1 (Enhanced Edition), and I plan on finishing all of the original Baldur's Gate games and expansions before tackling BG 3 (I wish I had started sooner), but I can't wait to finally get there. This game looks awesome!
What I really wanna know is if Shadowheart is still a scene stealer. I really want to recruit her but I have to put my foot down if she keeps robbing me of Astarion one on one time.
This game will quickly become a pillar in the RPG industry, and will stand side by side with other titans like The Witcher III and Skyrim in the best RPG lists in a few years. Mark my words....
Purchased last night, i hope it's worthy of the two previous Bioware masterpieces (which i still play off and on to this day). So far, im not seeing negative reviews from any of my trusted reviewers, so that's a great sign. I'm looking forward to playing this after i finish up the latest Solasta expansion!

i bought this game about a year ago, a bit less. And mostly to be able to play on full release but as i still wanted to experience it interface and controls i did a tutorial area twice. I wasn't exploring first act in EA cuz i was scared to ruin experience for me. And when i loaded into full release yesterday, omg, i was so happy that even tutorial areas had some tweaks and i wasn't feeling bored with it.
2:41 - was that before - or after - you started locking all the fluffy animals in that magic closet??? xD
First vender had some awesome gloves for my ranger, negates damage from ranged weapon attacks by 1d10. Really helps my ranger feel untouchable at times
My only complaint is lack of beards for dwarves! Everything else is incredible.

Very intrigued to see which NPCs we might run into later in the game; the merchant Derryth Bonecloak perhaps, or the Tiefling leader Zevlor from the Druid's Cove.
It will be nice to see how the way one navigates relationships impacts the options & choice further down the road.

In the game currently, so a lot of content will be on hold for a while (to avoid spoilers). I understand the business side of things for you, going a bit slower so you enjoy it is also important. Also while waiting for release, several Twitch streamers were watching YOUR videos to learn about the game (CohhCarnage being one of the bigger ones) and I hope you have a larger following after that; you deserve it!

Agree with all your points. The absence of the pythonesque humour of D:OS is such a relief. Yeah but the char creation is a bit weird. Lots of different tattoos and earrings, but it seems the hairs and faces were lacking.
Honestly, I think quite opposite about character creations, as in my opinion few good faces and tons of other options are better than complex face mod and medicore rest. Nothing spoils character creation as much as poor hairstyle options.
Remember! If you make a choice and it ends up in a game over you have to start over, because that's choice and effect, so loading the game would definitely be save scumming :)

Pros and cons of selecting from just a handful of preset faces for character creation:
Pro: You can't make some horrible monstrosity for your main character.
Con: You can't make some horrible monstrosity for your main character.
But seriously the game (player characters included) looks great. I can't wait to dig in some time tonight.
My first day of playing involved making 4 different characters and playing the intro with them xD

I played early access on stadia and we all know how that went. being a console gamer i was over the moon when the ps5 announcement hit🎉. So it goes without saying, as a lover of dnd and painter of minis i cant wait for next month.
Nine hours in and I'm very happy. Seen my share of bugs (think I've reported 10 so far); but only one of them forced a reload (I have quicksave bound to a side-mouse button and I'm spamming all the time).
So, for me, I'd say I'm very satisfied by the game. I think going forward they need to stay on top of the bugs; and if they do, then they have a phenomenal game on their hands. 9/10 (with bugs; 10/10 if they iron them out).
Did you noitce Shadowheart has a passive that she can be frightened by wolves now.
