Between the improvisations is the chant itself sung with fauxbourdons, by the Maîtrise de Notre-Dame-de-Paris led by Cantor Jehan Revert.

this orbis factored me right into space. Pierre Cochereau is/was a genius
I had the joyful opportunity to learn the Kyrie XI Orbis Factor under the instruction of Dom Gajard while he was choirmaster of the Abbey of Solesmes.
This is transcendental in every age!

That the best version of Kyrie IX I ever heard
Ecoutez à 5'12, c'est fabuleux ; le discours est sans cesse relancé par le rythme, l'harmonie, et tout à la fin résonne le thème au pédalier sur des motifs de toccata aux claviers, dans le grand soleil des chamades. Du très grand art d'un génie : Pierre Cochereau.
B le discours avez-vous dit, ben oui c’est ça son génie, c’est qu’il ne perdait jamais le fil...jamais trop court, jamais trop long, lorsque le discours avait fait sonner les jeux qu’il devait faire sonner, il savait conclure sans bla bla a n’en plus finir...

I have a CD of this; I picked my copy up at ND gift shop back in 2000.

@@lyrictenor1 Thanks so much - because of your comment, I was able to get this CD last July, and it's become one of my treasured possessions. The offertory by Cochereau from this same Mass is incredible!

What is that choral rendition of the Kyrie? Who is it by?
It is by Henri Carol (1910-1984), canon of the Monaco Cathedral, where he became titular organist in 1968.

@@mecheverriadiaz I have looked in vain for the score. I'm not sure it was published. You could contact one of the organists of Notre Dame and see if it's in the cathedral music library.
