    In all of OSRS I have struggled the most in coming to grips with this mini-game. I've watched many guides on this, but yours have been without a doubt the most outstanding ones. Thanks a lot and keep making guides!

      Thank you Oscar so much for the support message, this really helped motivate me to keep making videos! Thanks again man

      I completely agree. Most guides on YT are pretty good for masses, but always seem vague or incomplete for solo or small group runs. This one finally made me understand what I actually need to do to not die almost every time.

    Went from zero solo completions, to a couple hours of completions after watching this video. You demonstrated several subtle differences to how I was trying to do it, which were the keys to success. Thanks UIM armadyl!

    Thanks for the guide, I like how it not only talks about what we typically do, but gives the reasoning and thought process as to make it so we can adapt to our own situation. The flowchart is nice. Tho I have to caveat that I already knew the general mechanics of the minigame in mass worlds so it was easier to follow. Looking forward to more videos!

      Thanks for the tips! I am also making an advanced guide (which is longer) that covers some obscure methods at GOTR, but I think solo/masses are the way to go in the long run

    Thanks dude! Finally got a solo done on my 61 RC iron! I only allow myself into mass worlds for mini games that I can solo (silly self limitation, but it's how I enjoy playing) and this helped a ton! I thought for sure I'd have to unlock deaths and maybe giant pouch to get a solo done, but after a few tries I did it :)

    Simple and very helpful guide. I was wondering if you've ever tracked xp/hr doing this method? Also - Since you've made this guide to now, have you updated your strategy to be more efficient in time and/or xp gain? Just wondering if there are any tweaks to this guide you've made that I might be able to implement myself. Thanks!

    Been thinking of doing some solo runs on my GIM but had no idea how to go about it. Your commentary and example video made this incredibly easy to understand. You've earned a like and a sub big time!
    Out of curiosity, what are you RC experience rates/hour roughly at your level?

    Tried to solo 3 times. It's impossible if you get unlucky portal spawns. Maybe I just got super unlucky 3 games in a row, but getting back to back to back to back portals that don't give overcharged cores is infuriating. I kept having to miss giant guardian essence portals because I was hustling my ass off with strong cores, clinging to life with the front barrier. Then the eventual dread of running out of run energy because portal spawn rotations fucked you. God I hate this minigame. it's RNG to solo. It's RNG to get a place in a mass world. 1/10 content :(.

    • @GamerDadCasual
      @GamerDadCasual  Год назад +1

      yea solo is pretty RNG based, i think I did around 20ish games and failed like 3 times? So I went back to masses myself tbh. You probably got super unlucky yep

    • @Chealder
      @Chealder Год назад

      It's not, the decision pyramid is not as important as it seems especially in the early stage of the game. The amount of abyssal creatures and their aggression scales with the percentage the guardian is at, regardless of the 60% threshold. If your first two altar rotations ate bad, skip the first portal to set up your game. If your third is bad too, use the portal but leave early if you get a good rotation. You can even skip both first and second portal if necessary and it won't matter that much. Setting up a solid game is far more important.

    This guide is an extreeeemely beginner guide, but a _solo_ guide is kind of advanced by definition. No beginner will have success trying to solo without learning first. I'm not saying this is a bad guide by any stretch, but the title (and just the fact it's a *solo* guide) gives the impression it will be an advanced guide, and therefor assume that anyone watching already knows the basics. I'm over halfway through the video and you haven't taught me anything I don't know, this is barely a solo guide, you're literally just teaching people about GOTR...
    A solo guide shouldn't explain THE most basic stuff like explaining about cell tiers or zooming in on interface elements and spending 30 sec to 1 min talking about the absolute rudiments of GOTR...
    After I you said you can't even craft blood runes I was like "wait wha..? he's making a guide but doesn't even have full experience of the mini game?" I looked closer and saw you don't even have the full outfit!! So you can only have done like a hundred or so games, MAX. So here I am with 90 runecrafting, 500kc at GOTR, the full outfit unlocked and even recoloured, and EVERY single col log unlocked except for the pet- taking advice from someone who probably has 1/5 as many kc as me...
    That's like learning to play an instrument for 6 months, and then offering people who have been playing for 5 years lessons...
    Like I said, the guide itself is fine, you do a good job considering you haven't done it very much, but this should be titled "Beginner guide" not "Best solo pts/hour guide" when actually you don't show anything beyond the bare minimum solo strategy...
    Edit: actually this guide kind of is bad. You waste time just making cells instead of crafting runes, but if you DO make essence manually and play the game efficiently, you'll get just as many points AND not lose out on the additional xp. The only way to play GOTR efficiently and maximise points and xp is to *adapt*. You rely entirely on what altar portals you get. Yes you time everything around hitting all the yellow portals, but you can't control what altars will be open in between, so you adapt based on that. if you get a good spawn after crafting the essence you got from the yellow portal, then yes just make an overcharged cell, but if you come out of the altar and only see weak/medium altars open (or even strong depending how far along in the game you are, sometimes it's inefficient to get strong cells) then *of course* your time is better spent making essence manually in order to win the game faster and get onto the next game sooner. It's absolutely not a case of "only make runes from the yellow portals". Yes that's the priority but that absolutely doesn't mean you should waste your time only making cells in between regardless of the altar spawns. I get as many, if not more points than you, but I actually get runes (therefore GP) and xp, where you don't. The only reason you appear to get so many points is because you make your games last longer by not powering up the great guardian. The fact that you said "I would have gotten more points if they weren't capped" means you are getting FEWER points per hour, you actually should completely avoid getting max points in a game because any points passed 1200 are lost, whereas if you prioritise finishing the game sooner. You get more points per game, but fewer games per hour. If you mostly rune craft from portals, your games must be lasting literally like 15 mins or even more, which is AT MOST 4-5 games per hour, if you actually max points per game that's only 4800 points per hour, and this is being unrealistically generous. I would say you probably get fewer than 4000 per hour.
    Also the golden rule at GOTR is "if you're standing around doing nothing, you're doing in wrong". There is ALWAYS something you can be doing, especially in solo. Unless you're waiting literally a couple seconds for the altar portals to change because they're both weak, you can ALWAYS be doing something, even if it's just grabbing a weak cell from the table to heal your shield up a bit. Unless you have a max HP overcharged cell and all your guardians are up and overcharged, you should never be standing still just waiting.
    I give you credit for making the decision pyramid though, that's really neat (although mining shouldn't be at the bottom, for all the reasons I just said. Mining is indispensable in GOTR. EVERY other solo guide will tell you to mine until the game-start countdown hits around 26 seconds which gives you around 140 essence at high mining level, and that is coming from people who have a lot more experience at GOTR than you, and there's a good reason that is the consensus on how to solo GOTR)

      Hey thanks for the indepth comment, I did read all of it and appreciate the the effort you put in your huge response. And in the interest of not having an internet back and forth (because while I agree with some of your points about my guide, i disagree with quite a few of your points too), feel free to post links to other youtuber's solo guides. I think it would be helpful for people who share your views that my guide is not sufficient. But as you can see from some of the other comments, this guide is helpful to some people, just perhaps not to you, and that is okay. Best of luck!

    • @RatingsMan
      @RatingsMan Год назад

      I mean, you can disagree with the guide... but you somehow determined his games take 15 minutes & that he "probably" gets 4000pts/hr... when he clearly states that the game took 9 minutes (shown as to be between 9-12) & you can see he got 1000pts. So if you can manage, that would be 6k pts/hr... or about 50% more than you proclaimed. - - - I'm no master at GOTR, this guide was helpful in teaching me several things. For you to be so aggressively negative and not even pay attention to the video, that's just sad.
