Thanks for posting again. I have always wanted to see how Steffi won the first set in this one since she won the first 20 points. So apparently all she did was hit 3 aces, 5 service winners, 4 forehand winners, 3 backhand winners and 1 backhand overhead...lol. Amazing.
I was at that match. One of the first tournaments I ever attended. It was so awkward for Zina not being able to win a point in five games! Thankfully she made the second set more competitive. Steffi really could steamroll her opponents back then.
I just watch in a few minutes...and I saw a powerful topspin backhand from Steffi. I just do not understand why Steffi did not play her powerful topspin backhand as much as she did in 1988-1989.
@Illya Kuryakin yes....but topsin down the line during baseline battle especially, could just kill her opponents like Seles, quicker..but if she hit her TSBH towards Seles, Seles might give stronger reply...so...only if she hit down the line.
