Here I point out a lot of the historical points and gorgeous spots of the Wild Atlantic Way, the 2,500km road trip along the west coast of Ireland. Napoleonic Towers, WW2 lookout posts, ruined castles, famous birthplaces, amazing scenery, the Wild Atlantic Way is a fantastic adventure!

I like how you had the little character in the pictures. It really makes you, you. You should open a DeviantArt for your maps and characters. Maybe you could sell little characters such as Napoleon, Stalin, Spanish Soldiers etc.

I'm sold. I will definitely visit Ireland. When I do I will go straight to the Wild Atlantic Way
BTW I hope the tourist guys gave you a big contribution for making such a great advertisement for them. In fact you should get free food and accommodation for the next 10 times you travel the Wild Atlantic Way.

I was born in the United States, but in March of 2016, I flew into Dublin, drove hours across the country to the little village of Doolin. It is the most beautiful place I have ever seen on Earth. The pubs are brilliant, the Castle Doonagore is amazing, the Cliffs are breathtaking, and it's not far from Lahinch, the nearest city, and my ancestral home of Liscannor. I would like Irish citizenship, and I recognize Ireland as my adoptive home. I am directly linked to the powerful de Vesci clan of Kildare and O'Connor clan of Clare and Kerry. My great-grandfather was an immigrant from Liscannor and my Grandmother from Cork. I am learning the Irish language, and embrace Gaelic culture. Ireland is the greatest country in the world. Fada beo i bPoblacht na hÉireann.

You have a nice mind. People don't really care about any sort of knowledge that (in their opinion) doesn't affect them directly. Understanding history and learning from the mistakes people made at some point and/or are still making does effect your life.

As a person who lives in Western Ireland. I can say that the wild Atlantic way is breathtaking and never gets old no matter how many times I visit one of its locations. Do yourself a favour if your thinking of holidaying in ireland. Stay clear of Dublin and the East. No offence to you easterners but Dublin has devolved into a cringy oversaturated tourist trap with fairly boring attractions in my opinion. Go on a road trip on the wild Atlantic, it will be well worth your time and money. If your not really into road trips, I would recommend staying in tralle(probably spelt that wrong, sorry kerry people) or dingle. The kerry Atlantic area is probably my most favourite part of the Atlantic way. It has breathtaking senoiary with its cliffs and mountains. If your in sligo, drop into the W.B Yeats restaurant. It's right on the cities outskirts. They got good chips :)

Also, they got the name from Lord Baltimore the Second, AKA Cecil Calvert. He was from the Peerage of Baltimore in Ireland (which is the town you were at) and he colonized Maryland as a Catholic State. Source: 5th Grade Local

    • @BaggyMcPiper

RudtheSpud Sort of. The city in Maryland was named after George Calvert, 1st Lord Baltimore, and his son, Cecil Calvert, who was the one who actually founded the Province of Maryland as a haven for English Catholics. The name comes from his title, named after the barony in Ireland.
New York was likewise named after James II, Duke of York, who would later become King of England. The name replaced New Amsterdam, which actually was named after the city of Amsterdam by the Dutch.
