    The entire idea behind the heavy lobbying for the Boeing Starliner was so that SpaceX wasn’t sole source for all of governments needs. This was the excuse for the massive waste dumped into United Launch Alliance’s over budget and very late system that after all has to be bailed out by who? SpaceX. This is exactly the argument of why startups are better at what they do than traditional defense contractors. SpaceX does it safer, faster, better and cheaper to boot. But yes, let’s continue to dump money into the Unholy Launch Alliance so their feelings don’t get hurt. 🙈

    NASA: The group that brought you Challenger and Columbia. Who here is surprised?

    • @pong9000
      @pong9000 Месяц назад

      Remember Columbia also happened due to US aerospace placing war priorities first. Columbia engineers were refused spy satellite views of the damage, because the Pentagon needed every minute of those satellite's time searching for Saddam in Iraq, to strike him. Now the US is banning Russian Soyuz craft from their regular servicing the ISS. Russian Soyuz had been ferrying US astronauts without fail for decades. But war breaks all things.

    The worst part of this: the moment the thrusters started malfunctioning, the moment the helium-leaks appeared ON THE RAMP BEFORE LAUNCH - NASA should have had enough experience, knowledge and wisdom to cancel that launch, too. ...now the blamage is complete...
    and as for all the other issues Boeing has, i guess now even astronauts will say "if it's Boeing - i ain't going!"

    They also forgot to install the autopilot, which means it might not even be able to undock unless someone is inside it.. which means potentially if it doesnt work, and they have to dump it - it has to be jettisoned while someone is IN it, then they have to open the hatch and space walk back to the ISS before it burns up, so that the rescue craft can even dock in its place.. assuming it even allows opening undocked.. so this is a major mess up. This machine could potentially cause a fatality.
