This time we talk about the Xperia Play - Sony's Frankenstein Project to merge a android smartphone with an gaming handheld. Just showcasing an Xperia Play with its stock OS Android Gingerbread would be boring right? Thus we compare the same system with a Custom Rom: Android Marshmallow.

thanks for the info... ive got an xperia play coming in the post...and after watching your vid im going to keep it as stock gingerbread.. seems better overall... Im going to do the hack to move everything to micro sd card though... :)

amazing idea.
good execution for 1st gen.
horrible specs.
it was like giving a gameboy advance cellular connection lol
barely 512mb usable space which you can hardly install any apps on? sony opt to use the snapdragon S2 when nvidia already had the first Tegra SoC out? sony wtf were you thinking...
oh, and those horrible touch pads for joysticks, bah, sony should've just made the device a bit thicker and put in two of the PSPgo's joysticks instead, yeah it wouldn't be a great experience but at least it would actually be usable?
how about a kitkat build? how is it on the xperia play?
Is it possible to use the controls on android games from the play store that have controller support?

Hi. I have an Xperia play on the original gingerbread Android OS. I do not know how to mod or even root an smartphone :D and I have a problem. I got the phone a couple of months ago, great condition, the previous owner done a factory reset of the phone, so I did downloaded the Crash Bandicoot game and it was working well. I really didn't used the phone and yesterday I decided it was about time to put some emulators on the phone. Accidentally, trying to free some space I deleted the downloaded Crash Bandicoot game from the download folder. And now the game won't download again. So I am asking for help, does anybody know how to download the game again? Thank you all
