Your flounder fishing ability and confidence always amazes me. I know what it takes to catch catfish and stripers, and I have the confidence any day I hit the water. As for flounder, I get my tail kicked by flounder! It is fun to watch you with your ability and confidence. One day, maybe, I will get to the point where I have the confidence you do on each trip. Very well done and informative videos. Thank you for what you do.

I was wondering if you would put together a couple of flounder rigs/fluke rigs that I could purchase from you. When I go to the local fishing store they don't have what you mention on your videos and always tell me "oh....this is exactly the same!" but apparently it's not...ha ha! Actually the laugh is on me. They have my money and I have the stuff they couldn't sell to a more knowledgeable fisherman. Please consider getting me started I would really appreciate it! Thanks, Bill

Superb question. I've tried it there numerous times. The bottom is just paved with so many fish it didn't help. The best strategy for me has been to just do numbers and cull. The next vid I post, shot on the same trip but 10 miles away, will show a switch to 6-inch grubs.

Congrats on the new boat John. I have the Helix 5 as well and works great for me. The SI on mine helps me find those drop offs and deeper holes easier. Another great video. Thanks for sharing! Do you think you can show your sonar every now and then to show where you are targeting them on the bottom? That will help others see how you are targeting the drop offs and understand that aspect of why fluke sit there more than other spots. Thanks.
BTW, the J&H website for buying the "John Skinner Fluke Bucktail" is not user friendly right now and hard to find the bucktails you mentioned let alone do a simple search. Maybe you can call them to fix it so we can order a few? Thanks.

I'm in the Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach area, and don't really have a large saltwater sound to drift around in, but have tried the inside of a few inlets and am considering heading nearshore (just off the beach). Have a similar setup (bucktail on the bottom, and gulp swimming mullet on top just on a hook). Should I just be looking for little ledges?
