the best rallying always looks like the car totally losing control while the road is desperatly trying to wind accordingly

@@empevo2605 it's a blowoff valve not a turbo. You can have a turbo without it and it won't sound like this, or a turbo with a different sounding blowoff

Ofcourse flashy driving will be slower but he didnt slide without wasting time, he recovered pretty fast too.

I remember when i played this game back then. One of those few games that really brought both emmersiveness and adrenalin. The graphics, sound and the feeling of resistance, as the tires caught onto gravel, grass or snow.
And also very punishing as Flashback are permanently gone in DiRT RALLY 2.0.
Imagine hitting one of these NUMEROUS LOG STOCKS at 170 km/h.

I used to suck at Dirt Ralley but then realised that it's all about positioning the car correctly for each corner. It's pretty satisfying having those extra few inches of road because you stayed left of an upcoming left turn

I couldn't even imagine playing with a wheel, the game is difficult with a controller. 🤣
When u get used to it, the best racing game with wheel i have played
Bought a set, packed it up the next day to return 🙄
Almost every racing game you will be better with a wheel. On a Controller you point your stick into one direction like 90°left
Between that position and 0° straight you only have like 10mm travel. On a wheel it is much more.
After adjusting to that wheel you can be much more precise in your steering.
I did play gt sport with a g29. Later i played Dirt Rally and had problems at the beginning. The reason: loose underground. You drift all the time.
Once you get used to it you will not want to miss it. It will be easier than playing with Controller.
I play with wheel every single cr game
It's a good sign when you're perfectly in control but the camera has to dodge objects you came too close to!

My BP went up by watching this. Seriously though, the guy behind the wheels has mad skills but still his sectors was like 3 to 4 seconds in front of the competition. Goes to show you how extremely competitive dirt rally 2.0 is.

3rd person looks better for viewers IMO and hes probably use to using it. 3rd person has a lot more to look at and appreciate but I wouldn't mind seeing cockpit view either

Yes with that a high speed and a good car on dirt it is 100% possible

@@grzegorznt666 it's actually not blow off, the WRC cars don't have a bov. The noise is the air being pushed back through the turbo when the throttle body closes, causing compressor surge

it's ironic that SUV rarely go off-road , while most Rally cars are Sedans Coupes and Hatchbacks
Bit different thing though. Rally is about speed and so cars are ideal for that because they have a much lower center of gravity than SUVs or trucks.
If you threw a Land Rover 'round some of these bends at those speeds it would roll over! Hahaha.
But those bigger vehicles can do things cars can't off-road. All that low-end torque can climb very steep gradients and haul payloads.
A proud me was happy to complete a stage in 15th position. Now, this is insane!
The driving is unbelievably good, but I will never understand, why to even consider playing in 3rd person while using a steering wheel

Hell. Even on asphalt roads its scary to drive. It feels like the car can overspin easily
It is because of his driving style. He likes drifting very much, and keeps the drift in as long as possible, even transitioning from a right drift to the next left drift. So most of the time he's sliding in this video. You can also do that in real life and make it seem as though you are on ice, an illusion so to speak. Behind that is an constant effort to keep the car from stopping the drift. That's what donuts in Gymkhana is about for example. There even asphalt seems a bit like ice.
This guy's a real deal....drive really flat-out like McRae, but smooth like Burns.... incredible!!!
I mean, when you spend all day learning a stage. You will end up knowing that stage. He doesn’t use pace notes he just memorizes the stage. THIS IS NOT RALLYING.
