@@thepiperwavemissing4255 The boundaries are blurred. We can get too hung up on definitions and categories. There's definitely a darkwave sensibility in her music.
@@stephenspark776 I don't think it's an obsession to call things by their most appropriate name, ....they have a very dark and perhaps gothic vibe but in the true original and new Darkwave of this century there were always guitars (always accompanied by dark synths).... and in Hante as we are dealing with, those guitars(Dark) are neither present nor expected...
@@thepiperwavemissing4255 I think we're not in disagreement on this. My point was that it's a pity to get hung up on nomenclature when there's good music to listen to - whatever instruments are being used.
A genius. Not a word to use lightly, but I truly believe she is, distilling raw emotion, melancholy and passion into gloriously stirring synthwave anthems.
13:11 - The Storm. great! very true, this sound is much more similar, AND BORN FROM to electronic music (old school trance / new beat / Synth Wave/ techno....minimal, BUT Darkwave without guitars (DARK) does not exist!
Hante. is very important to me, I listen to her every week or so... I think she's incredible. Talked with her after a gig in Paris, what a lovely person... She is a master of hyper-sensitivity.

FUCK - that's intense! Emotional overload in the most extreme way. I absolutely adore her ever since spotify introduced me to her amazing work. Every aspect of her public image has a distinct magic quality for me - her visual style, the way she performs - wheter solo or the interaction with Amadine. Guess that would qualify as a crush of some sort 😅 Yet, videos of her performing have a really sad quality after I've learnt about her post Covid health problems. I've developed my fondness of dark music styles just a year ago, when I rediscovered my hypersensitivity. Considering the time and place this video was made, it gives an impression of golden times long gone, even though it's been merely 3 1/2 years since than. Thus, this video also comes with a hardly bearable amount of weltschmerz, considering how devastating things developed since then. The Russion, Belarussian and Ukrainian cultures have the adorable ability create wonderful works of art out of their melancholia, but the recent events has brought dehumanization and hatred instead of appreciation. And then there's the pinnacle of human depravity - willingly sacrificing 10.000s of men, seemingly for the sole reason to provoke a likewise move from the opposite side. German TV news occasionally talked to members of the Ukr. forces preparing for the long awaited counter offensive, who were eager to finally start reconquering the Crimea as they were tired of the war and longed for returning to their families. This made thejm appear like lamb being tricked into gathering at the place where they will be transported to the slaughter Presented as a rather casual insight to the daily wartime routine, nothing expresses war's inhumane misery as vividly as the reality of how the war ends for those poor bastards... Yeah, I have the tendency to express my emotions by ridiculous wordcounts 😅 Anyway, this video contains the emotional ambivalence which is typical of all dark styles, in the most concentrated form. 🖤🖤🖤 Will most probably revisit many times over the years, but currently it's just too much for me to watch completely
Don't apologise for the wordcount when you have something worth reading - as your comment is. You speak the truth, my friend. 'Emotional ambivalence' sums up my whole life at the moment - feeling like I'm walking a tightrope between ecstasy and despair sometimes. The music of Hante/Minuit Machine and bands like Milicent/Vague Phonique both soothe and intensify those feelings. With the world as it is, we are forced to carry our emotions along a dangeous path these days...
Queen of Darkwave !
For the new gen yes but for g
The 80s I would say Argentina goth Wanda lead singer of Euroshima.
excellent music and performance... but this is not Darkwave !...this is electronic music, specifically Synth -Wave - Minimal Synth

Curious question - can someone tell me what Marshall head and cab is being used (can be seen at 9:08)? Was she using it for specific instruments?
The amp isn’t turned on, probably belongs to a band she’s opening for or opened for her (on the same bill).
Great!!
🖤
she went solo?
She is like Miss Kittin... Is this an Alter Ego of Miss Kittin?🤔
Есть очень достойные песни, Eternite и Waiting for a hurricane - это просто блеск. Спасибо Spotify за его систему рекомендаций)
