Great tips! Your vids are always helpful 🤘🤘
Thanks so much, glad you're finding them helpful!
This is a great help, thank you!! After hearing you mention a lot of these (especially inversions) it’s super helpful to have this for reference now. Appreciate the lesson!
Glad it was helpful!
Nicely done brother!
Thanks man!
Esta Buenisimo
Joining a pop punk band soon aha 😅 just gonna save this to my playlist
Haha awesome. Hope the band goes well!
Good job
Thanks!
Thanks. Fantastic video. As a quick thought, the slash chord in major can be played on positions 7 and 3. On position 1 its a major 7 with a 7 in the bass note (757) and on position 3 its like 3/4 chord (343). In minor, the slash chord can played on positions 1 and 2 where its a (141) chord and a (242) type of chord.
lol just experimented switching between power chord and slash chord in same position and all of a sudden i realize im playing "lose yourself" by eminem. xD
I just found out that I love slash chords
They're pretty awesome!
Love heart attack man, knew this was gonna be a good video as soon as I saw the intro!
Thanks man! They're definitely one of my favourites at the moment!
Throwing in a diminished chord for the seventh is really interesting
this is also useful for writing weezer songs :)
True, haha!
Nice video! What was the song used in the intro?
Heart Attack Man - Freak Of Nature 👍
Do you also play major 2nd type power chords where you switch the higher octave note for a 2nd? Would be easier to play in drop d tuning. Or asked differently, is that type of chord used in punk song to your knowledge?
Yeah I'm quite a big fan of using those. You don't tend to hear them too much in early punk, but bands like Microwave & Born Without Bones (or just those from the heavier side of pop punk / emo) tend to use them a ton. You'll hear them in a few Weezer tracks too, especially on the newer releases!
could the style you did be useful when i use it for songs i write?
Yeah these should help you write anything you like - it doesn't just have to be pop punk!
Do you have charts of type of chords on your patreon?
Not currently, but I do have a full playlist with all my chord-related videos in - ruclips.net/p/PLVDwKzs2IcV1N1fZMi_iEBDvo6BX5OTtt
"... And if you need to know X, then watch this video next."
Me: "Next!"
I fucking Love say anything … I found them because Tom did nibble nibble with Max and I was like whoa where ya been all my life beem dawg
Same! They're definitely a top 10 band for me.
@@SugarpillProdme too
Who's Tom?
Thank you for the deep dive into progressions and inversions. I've watched far too many videos where they say "just play a major riff" and never explain the relationship between the chords etc.😅
Haha yeah that's always the worst advice I see everyone give 😂
Someone please help I don't know the song from the intro name
Heart Attack Man - Freak Of Nature.
@@SugarpillProd thank you so much! Awesome video by the way
I found I just love Slash lol
I almost always play barre chords like these in video and I try to don't play power chords.
Nice! They can definitely help to mix your sound up.
0:04 name band?
Heart Attack Man 👍
Theme song??
