The callout block needs to be set to default color (not the text color you want) and then to change only the callout block text color and not everything inside it as well, just highlight the text and then change the text color (not the callout block text color). Do as I do in the tutorial

I'm currently trying to figure out if I'm gonna use notion or obsidian, what are your opinions on obsidian?
Obsidian is cool but is more for knowledge management whereas Notion is more for life-management. So if you are learning any new information you can use the Zettelkasten method in Obsidian. The main idea is that instead of normally where you'd create a folder and add the relevant information into, the Zettelkasten suggests you input the information and use specific tags and over time the nodes or "folders" will emerge out of all your information. However if you wanna manage pretty much anything else like projects, tasks, finances, habits, fitness, meals, etc. then Notion is the way to go.

You can, you just need to press and hold on an item and it will pop out so you can move it around, works the same on mobile 🙌🏼

hey Chris, I followed along and made a cool yellow theme, now how do I save it so I can make a green, a blue or purple one and change between them whenever I want ?
Hi no you'd need to change the colors of everything each time. I'd recommend to maybe just color code certain areas of your life. For example work related databases are blue, personal is green, etc.

This may sound silly but what's "morning" and "evening"? It looks like a database table view but cant' seem to mimic it

Hi, I don't even know exactly what to ask but how did you manage to create a calendar with many templates without the "v x items hidden" when you create a new page? I don't know if what I said made sense lol
Haha yea not entirely sure what you're asking but I think you're referring to the different views on the calendar to different databases. Inside a linked view database you can click inside the database menu and then change the source to a different database. So you can have a view for tasks, a view for habits, a view for finances, etc all on the same database, just as different views
@chrisnotion yes, it's the multiple databases linked to the calendar! I'm not sure I understood the explanation because I'm more of a visual learner but I'll try to figure out how it's done. I swear the not knowing how to replicate it made me SO stressed lol thanks for the answer!
How to add a gif from Pinterest? Whenever I try to embed the respective link in notion, all I get is a preview for the whole Pinterest page where the gif is (including everything that is not the gif itself but also the title and description underneath etc)
Hey noa, usually you have to grab the direct link from the original pin they embed that one! Hope that helps! Also if you'd like a super intuitive Notion template feel free to let us know! We got our 24 page planner out now!
The easiest way would be to just download the gif and upload it to Notion

Well you can create your own template from scratch and sell your own but of course you can't sell mine cuz that would be copyright infringement and could get you in a lot of trouble

Go into the layout tab in the database menu and toggle on the "color columns" option

Almost all the pixel art I find is way, way too big to use as a Notion cover. Is it even possible to resize a gif?
I've realized by watching more of the video that your solution to this problem is to ignore it. I guess it doesn't actually have to look good; as long as it's pixels and it's animated it's ~~aesthetic~~ 🙄
A lot of the pixel art you find on Pinterest isn't even in GIF form. I keep finding MP4s.
I'm so lost here man. Hide the databases? What databases? I just started using Notion and I just don't want it to look bad. I don't have databases. Am I supposed to? Do I need them? How do I even add them? This isn't advice on making Notion look nice, it's advice on how to make YOUR SPECIFIC NOTION look nice. I don't get it. I've wated like an hour on this video and only made it 2 and a half minutes in and so far all I've learned is that you can embed stuff like clocks and hyperlinks from other websites. Don't you guys already have clocks and browser favorites? What are we doing?
I think this is just not the video for me because I don't even understand how you're doing stuff like putting boxes next to each other. That doesn't work for me.

how do i get all my elements to align on the far left by default ?
Make sure your page is full-width through the page menu in the top right and use empty blocks or type /2columns to add 2 columns and then just drop what you want on the left and right. And to resize them just drag the grey bar in the middle.

It looks like a couple of people have this problem, might be something with Notion but otherwise maybe try using Notion's embed block.
