I'm very new to SC2, only played a lot of wc3 before, and I tried this Build for the past week vs increasingly harder AI, til I won against the elite AI constantly. Now I had my first online matches... And I'm on a winning streak! PiG thank you a lot for coaching new players and zerg enthusiasts the way you do! Your Videos are fun and your advice is insanely good. keep it going!
The logic you said made me laugh so hard. “Look at their blob. Then look at your blob. If your blob is bigger than their blob. You smash your blob into their blob” lmfao. Wisdom beyond your years young Jedi 😂😂😂
I love this. It shows having strong basics and rules to play by, you can be a way better player. And even though you are a gm player you don't abuse that and live by your build order rules.
Hey PiG ty! This series inspired me to get back into sc2 after 5 years! Still trying to execute the build properly but this got me in gold 1 straight out of my placement matches (says master but it's bugged? I see 2.7k mmr) and I used to be stuck in gold 3 for like forever back in 2016. All the little details are a godsend man, probably just the egg control grouping gave me 500mmr lol. I'd never learn all those in a billion years otherwise. Again thanks, can't wait to get the basics up to par and start really really playing the game :)
Hey man, really appreciate this! Returning to SC2 after a break and this is so helpful. This makes macro so much easier, been following along and using just the concepts in the silver league video and the 1 build fits all I made D3 somehow (47W - 31L) also thanks to you experiencing 1000% less panic and being flustered. I cannot stress enough that it is all due to the way you explain the game in simple terms with concepts that are easy to practice. Thanks man! Love from OCE
I think a lot of novice players misidentify more and more players as smurfs as they rank up. Playing against someone who knows only one build order, but they know it really well can seem like an unfair fight. Because rank is determined by overall wins and losses - you can't tell from any one game whether your opponent is reacting to your actions or they do the same thing they always do and it happened to work this time.
True, but it’s pretty easy to find out if they are Smurfs. Just go to the match history and look at their loses, if most of them are Insta-leaves, they are smurfing.
Thanks to you, I switched my hotkeys and got used to them and after being stuck in gold 1 I jumped over to plat 2 in like 1 week. Good habits are crucial in starcraft. Also clearly thinking all the time instead of repeating build orders
This series is so good, im a terran plat1 player, maybe low diamond when i used to play. But a GM friend of mine basically helped me explained that MACRO MACRO MACRO. you can get GM to macro, with slight micro and map vision!!! Build orders come later when youre macro is good subconsciously no hovering above 600 min , well for terran!! Crazy series love this .
I’m reviewing this video and realizing that you get almost exclusively ZvP. This build got me to gold on ZvP, but ZvT I get crushed with this build. The tanks are just too powerful with a bio ball for the roaches and hydras. Looking forward to studying the Muta/Ling/Bane build, where spreading creep feels more useful than with Roach Hydra.
might be delayed in your attacks, they shouldnt have that many tanks.. he has a terran game here and there and the attacks happen when theyre like 3 tanks deep. Maybe your timing is a bit off or macro so not enough units to just swarm.
i played sc2 4 years ago, where i played zerg and i was really good and like 3 days ago, alot have happend, people have gotten crazy fast with their build orders, and while watching your videos i decided to try with just players and just focused on the eco and macro for the hatcherys and the queen procces wich was more diffucult than i had imagined, i have the build order memorized but the macro with everything is even harder, i have won games where i simply said to myself let's not deal with these macros let's just build alot of stuff and spend money instead of sitting with 5k minerals so just a hoard or brood lords, and that i have won most games.... but still learning the macros, other than that love the videos and your explaination of everything. EDIT: i also just use the campaigns missons to do the macros as its a tad easier as you are starting off with starter units till you progress, its not like i have completed those campaigns 5 times or anything just want the achievements
I studied the shit out of these videos for the past couple days then practiced a bunch on ai, jumped onto the ladder and busted out a 4-1 score and it put me right in gold. Thanks!
Pig are you planning on doing B2GM for the other races as well. I would be super stoked to see the same teaching your doing for Zerg on the Protoss race. Thanks. Keep up the great content.
@@ExpertPeeb I understand that. however as a protoss player (mid silver, low gold) i die early alot. I would love to see a box standard safe opening and an explanation of how to survive in the early game, establishing a ring of vision, doing a macro cycle as a protoss. cause at this point all i do is 2 base gateway explosion into charge zelots.
@@gregoryfranck6879 probe scout is step 1. as toss you also usually dont create a ring of vision like you do with zerg because you dont have overlords. so instead you would do dedicated scouting timings to check the enemy. a lot of the timings are similar for information (like expansion by 3:30). other things you could do would be using adepts to shade forward and cancel before it completes. you can also open stargate and use the oracle to scout. or use a hallucinated phoenix from a sentry to scout. protoss has a lot of tools. try to use these for scout timings after your 1st gate and around 3:45 for tech.
@@ExpertPeeb I wouldn't suggest most of these scouting techniques for a high silver/low gold. Canceling adept shades? Controlling an oracle? I feel that is way too micro-intensive. However, I do agree that the hallucinated Phoenix is the way to go around high gold/low plat. Scout the bases, check basic army comp (ground or air), and that's an excellent foundation.
idk if anyone pointed this out, but in your Bronze, Silver & Gold videos the build shown has a ~50 supply Lair AND Evo Chamber, so that the Roaches hit with +1 & Roach Speed, not just Roach Speed. Idk how much it matters, the follow-up would just be +2 +1 Roach/Hydra instead of +1 +1 Roach/Hydra, but I think sticking the Lair+single evo together makes the build slightly stronger.
When i see ur videos i just focus on doing more or less the same build and similar attack, so i learn that basic thing well, and then i jump onto another key step, or little detail, cuz like u said, theres so much info for a new player thats kinda overwhelming. The first time i tried starcraft i got overwhelmed by all the info and i was stressed out when playing it, which is why i quitted. But then i saw ur twitch videos commenting on pro players and i was like: ehhhh lets give the game another chance, and now i just have fun, and try to learn bit by bit. =)
randomly came across this series. only have watched this video so far. I've changed 2 things in my game... really focusing on my macro-cycle and if I am in drone mode or units mode. Immediately moved from like a 55% winrate in gold to losing 2 of my last 20 games, promoting from g2 to platinum and continuing to win in plat.. Is zerg really easy all of a sudden? I just always have more stuff than my opponent - what the heckkkk thanks PiG!
As a D3 zerg, i wonder, how do you suppose to have a ring of vision against toss, i guess using zerlings only on patrol. Because almost each toss goes voids and hunts for an ovies (and zerlings as well). If i start spreading ovies, I will just lose heck lot of minerals. (thanks blizz for perfectly balanced voids). i guess we will find out as the series goes on
I know that Cheeseburger got outplayed in the second match but what could he have done to prepare for your counter better, or was he just too far behind at that point, given your macro prowess?

I keep losing to air toss. Dia-1. No matter what unit composition I make. I didn't know you're not supposed to go under Carriers to target fire them. Because that's what I was doing. I tried to do a Hydra push with low Carrier count and my units just get evaporated by the Carriers and Voids while I'm trying to get under the Carriers to target them.
