Washington, Georgia is where the tide of the American Revolution began to turn with British failure at Kettle Creek. The Civil War effectively ended on the square in Washington, with the last meeting of The Confederacy.
As a native Georgian, I will say that minus some mispronounced city names, this is a very good and accurate video. Georgia is a wonderful state with a lot of everything for everyone to choose from. If you want mountains, we've got them. What about beaches and island life? Got those, too! Looking for the arts, sports, or the best campus life? We've got them. Churches, great and small. Night life. Snow in winter. Hot steamy summers. Swamp lands. Ocean fronts. Cultural diversity? Can't beat us. So, do join us. Down here, we're mostly a friendly , God-loving bunch. Btw, I probably would have added Valdosta to the list.
As I always say to anyone about our beautiful state, we're the jack-of-all vacation spots. Except for the snow in winter...we don't get that where I'm at in Georgia.
This is truly a good representation of Georgia. I live in Macon in the middle of the state which makes it so easy to get to the mountains or the beach within a couple of hours. The small towns are fantastic. So much nature. So much history. And, if you just have to have the city life...Atlanta is right up the road.
dude this is such a great in depth video! I’ve been making travel lists for things to do on each state and right now I’m doing GA. So helpful! Thank you
North GA mountains (*Helen*/Clayton/Tallulah/Dahlonega/Blue Ridge) is where it's at. The coast has some great stuff as well, but that's well documented.
If you want to tell someone you’ve never visited the Golden Isles, just act like St. Simons and Jekyll Islands are separate from the Golden Isles even though they are two of the four islands that are part of the Golden Isles.
This is a very good overview. Atlanta, however, has been so overrun with transplants that it has sadly lost much of its Southern charm. My mother, a native, actually has had people comment on her accent and ask where she is from. Many of them don’t even know how to properly pronounce “Atlanta.”
THE BEGINNING OF THIS FILM CONTAINS FOOTAGE THAT IS DEFINITELY NOT GEORGIA. That needs to be REMOVED. You've mispronounced "Macon" . Macon rhymes with bacon. There is SO MUCH crap in this video. Just awful. Jekyll Island has been completely misrepresented. It is now a CONFERENCE center with extremely expensive hotels. If you want to pay $250 a night, this is the place to be. It costs $8 just to drive onto the island. If you stay three days, you'll have to pay every day. I have been to every single one of these. Some are too bland for words. Some things were missed, especially the canyons, Madison with it's amazing antebellum homes, and worst mistake of all, Okefenokee State Park.
I totally agree that the Okefenokee should be included. There is just so much to see in Georgia, whether it's Warm Springs with Roosevelt's Little White House, Andersonville National Historic site, Jimmy Carter National Historic Site...Macon (which rhymes with bacon) is an absolute jewel with so much history, culture, museums, nature...a treasure.
Which place would you like to visit in Georgia? 😍

Washington, GA

@@marcelcamargo3504 There is nothing to see but a small street and a restaurant where "Fried Green Tomatoes" was filmed.

What’s wrong with “May Con” lol?

He did a great job showing great places to visit but caught me off guard with the British accent. I was expecting a nice Ga drawl.
Period
And some gorgeous lakes!!!

How can you say that when he couldn't even pronounce MACON? Macon is a great town, too bad he's obviously never been there.

Glad you liked it Chava! Do Like and share as well 😊

Great job showing amazing places to visit in Ga. But caught me off guard when I heard a British accent. I was expecting a Ga accent.

We visited almost all of those places. They are great!
May-ken btw
Like bacon, lol.
As someone who is from Georgia, this is a great list -- even if you do pronounce "Macon" like that. 😆
I was born here and I moved to California when I was 3 years old now I am 17
Georgia, the Peach State.
If you want to tell someone you’ve never visited the Golden Isles, just act like St. Simons and Jekyll Islands are separate from the Golden Isles even though they are two of the four islands that are part of the Golden Isles.

White county
Not all pictures used in this video are Georgia!
Loved the video. Thankyou.
Piedmont park?
Pine Mountain is nowhere near Georgia's Appalachia. It's over 2 hours south. Very informational video, though.

Thanks for watching! 😊
Atlana, or from really out in the sticks "Alana" all 35 years of my life and wouldn't live anywhere else!
In some of footages(with high mountains), there is Georgia which is a country(not a US state).
Ga has mountains just as the country ga does..maybe not as tall but some beautiful mountains in north Ga.
Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend tulluah gorge, the entire city is just a giant speed trap. Don’t visit there or even pass by if u can avoid it
Very good but I would have enjoyed it more without the drumbeat.
What's the good word?
