That is a good question. The belt is still around your body wether or not the belt loops on your bdu's break. A Riggers belt is supposed to be a emergency backup. Only for use in severe situations where you must rappel and do not have the proper harness. When rappelling with this belt, you have to angle your body with your back to the ground and never put the belt in a situation were it is tugging at the belt loops, all of your weight should be directed to the belt, not the pants.
We all tried that at the unit one day, just to see how painful it is. That's why we just wear a small harness in conjunction with the belt for those emergencies. Anyway, if you're rappelling like that in an emergency, you did a lot wrong. I did a video on a real-world application for the riggers belts. Check it out.
Thanks for the vid dude. I'm in private security security and implemented the rigger's belt into my gear in case of a serious emergency situation where I have to rappel out a multilevel building.. I wanted to see that it works, which it looks like it does. Much appreciated.
Stick with the video games...repelling out of multi story building's WTF..In 30 years doing "security"in multiple countries with guys who have been in every shit fight on the planet in recent times ,this is the first story I've heared like this, thanks for the laugh. Oh and there was another guy I remember now who did in fact do the multi story repall gig and he wore fancy belt to I think his name was Batman ....I will include below a link for a mail order BATARANG . pouch included to hang off your belt
Easy to explain. When a right handed person holds a rifle. The left for-arm is turned with the outward direction facing front. The underside facing the shooter. The watch is traditionally worn with the clock on the outward. Wearing the watch inward allows the shooter to glance at the time easily.
I've always wanted to learn how to repel, think it's cool and probably a good thing to know how to do as an EMT. But I have no idea where to go get training for it in PA.
i know your comment is already 3 years old, but since nobody answered you... you should do mountain climbing if you wanna learn how to rappel and use ropes and knots in a lot of different ways. don't attempt what this guy showed in the video, it's not a proper knot for rappel. if you have somewhere safe, you can always learn by yourself from a very small height using a munter hitch and a locking carabiner.
It's for tactical purposes Military wear there watch like that for when they have there rifles up to there shoulder they can keep there gun to there shoulder but yet still see what time it is. its hard to explain in typing you would have to put a watch on that way and hold an airsoft or real gun and see
This is a bad idea. Even if the belt can hold your weight, your belt loops can easily break, sending the belt up under your rib cage. If you're in a dire enough scenario to do this, remove the belt from your pants and secure it around your chest under your arms.

Hey man try a Munter hitch also called Italian hitch. I have no idea about the looping method you used, but it does seem pretty dangerous.
Wow. Im actually embarrassed for this guy.

As you do in fire fight, everyones thinking about knock off time
Ya I don't know but that doesn't look like ether a static or climbing rope I've seen

If you wear the belt in your belt traps in your pants, would the belt traps break?
what is the gun for?
Stay strapped or get clapped
What are they usually for??
At least you had the picnic table to break your fall.
Where can I get all of that gear you had?

Why do you wear your watch like that? :)
