They did the same in the Vampire one. Purposefully chose every option to be a Bitch, then whenever he wasn't controlling her 'god why is she being such a bitch'
okay, since mouse and connor didn't really get any sort of explanation of what was going on in the story (i don't blame them, neither did I my first playthrough lmao) i'm gonna try and explain it a bit for anyone else who might be curious as to what the hell happened or unsatisfied with how little closure we got. obviously massive spoilers for the video and game so click read more with caution . . . So like the editor said in the end of the video, the guy from the beginning who ended up dying wasn't Du'Met. He was some other guy named Joseph Morello who had come to the house previously and the real Du'Met (mask guy) forced Morello to get the protagonists on the island by saying it was the only way Morello would get to leave the island with his daughter (which he does, but Du'Met kills them anyway). Theres a scene at the end of the game where if you mess up enough it's possible to have Kate and Mark trapped in a room with Du'Met, and Du'Met says that Mark has to call a new group of people pretending to be Du'Met and lure them on the island, continuing the cycle or else he will kill Kate. Even if Mark accepts, they still get killed like Morello. As for Du'Met himself, he's not a ghost or anything, his only superpower is being the villain in a game that prioritizes "oooo spooky moment" over having the story make any sort of sense. I think the only thing left that's somewhat important is that yeah obviously the Charlie tape from the beginning is revealed to be edited later. Also, the dog was Morello's dog and his name is Connie. That has nothing to do with the story at all and is completely irrelevant but seeing as Connie is the best character in this garbage fire of a story, I thought it was worth mentioning
Damn, we needed this explanation badly. It feels like there are so many holes in this game that leave every plot hole unfilled. Like, why is the house a fricking Saw trap? How did it all begin? Who is the serial killer? Is he a ghost or a copy cat? Like, bruh Anyways, thanks for typing this out
(if you don't want spoilers please ignore me but this was a take I saw from 2 people come to the same conclusion. And ill try to keep vagueas possible) One thing about the series I can say I love watching other people play the game and see there choices and theories about it but in one run of the game it turns out to be a ex law maker (just to keep vague in case) to turn into a infusious on H.H.Holme's and the grandma is the mother of this turned man. 7:30 During the time period H.H. Holmes was alive, it was common for medical institutions to accept/receive sus cadevers due to the medical field rapidly growing and becoming an industry of importance. Thus, it was sorta a dark secret that individuals would "donate" bodies they murdered, graverobbed, or etc. as cadavers and would receive money for their donation (like 500-1.5k in today's standard I think?). In fact, grave robbery became such a vast problem that graveyards around academic and/or medical institutions (aka where these cadevers were being donated to) had to get night-watchmen and put large victorian gates up. And usually the only time someone would face consequences for grave robbery was if their "potential donation" happened to be a member of an affluent family within that area (they got slapped with all the criminal charges). So they probably thought H.H. Holmes was hella sus, but decided they valued medical advancement more and from memory H.H. Holmes was the wealthiest or one of the most affluent individuals in his area at the time so honestly not many people would've questioned him (that's how he got away with so much of his awful history; rip the victims) Ps- I love Mouse. This game definitely seems like it was rushed out the door. I don't think the other games in the anthology were that buggy. Mark constantly holding up the camera is probably my favorite bug in the game (14:07]. It looks hilarious.🤣
What's hilarious is the fact the they only lost characters due to bugs, Jaime clearly still had the screwdriver which should have saved her and seeing Mark just look at aw at the rock was absolutely hilarious

I enjoy the Dark Picture runs even when they're buggy. Disappointing that so much wasn't explained or missed though but at least we saved the #1 best dog.
I love all the historical inaccuracies around H.H. Holmes. Lotsa desperate serial killer fanatics trying to rewrite him to be a serial killer. Even saying that he murdered people who _outlived him._
Dude claimed to kill waaaaaay more people then he actually did. He was a compulsive liar. People trying to connect him to jack the ripper is fun though.

It took me a minute to have the “Oh G-d” its HH Holmes!” The actual murder castle in Chicago (which no longer exists) was a lot creepier than this game. To be fair, a lot of it is exaggerated. But I do remember when first reading about the hotel it was pretty frightening.
yeah If I remember correctly, it wasn't so much of the walls moving, trap door shit, tho it had some, it was more like a way for HH Holmes to kill people within the house and not get suspected for it by having multiple ways of moving about the house with trap doors that would lead to the basement. Though it did have those doors that lead to nowhere.
The first part of the game is after a real murder case but changed by a lot, because H.H. Holmes is a serial killer that was a con man that “built” the worlds far hotel to get investor to pay for other things than the actual hotel. If you want to hear more about him just search him up and you will learn a lot.
