    Thank you for this easy-to-follow tutorial which was great for a first-timer. As someone who has been writing code or managing those who write code for 30+ years, this low/no code approach will help us quickly deploy some solutions. The only issue I ran into was when creating the app. I had a very basic Name and Description text fields and no option to base it on the solution. There was also no App Designer for me but I was able to create the Site Map and everything seems to work fine, except the business process is not showing on the forms.

    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  2 года назад

      Microsoft updated the user interface for all this about 2 weeks ago, so it's substantially changed now from this video (new version coming soon!). The app designer experience has also had a complete overhaul since I made this. If your business process flow is not showing on the forms, it's usually because you're looking at a record you created before you made the BPF. Try creating a new record and see if it's there?

    An amazing tutorial very clearly presented making it easy and enjoyable to learn. I have been tasked to migrated a production management system originally designed in Microsoft Access that no one knows how to support, to a modern solution. After watching this video I think Dataverse and Modern-Driven is the way to go as it provides fast development, no code and relatively easy to support. The question is do I migrate all the tables for speed of development or create new ones and export the data via Excel so it can be filtered and checked.

    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  Год назад

      In general it's worth considering new tables if it means you can take advantage of features or data types available that might better suit your needs, but if your data is straightforward that may not matter. Have a look at the documentation here which has tools that make the migration easier from Access to Dataverse. Thanks and good luck! support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/get-started-migrate-access-data-to-dataverse-013c8bab-7737-46ca-ad2e-892bbf26287d

    Hi Lisa , great Video. I am new beginner to Model Driven Apps and definitely , this was a Great Tutorial. I have one query though. At around 3:22 , you showed the Details of R4456. I can see the Order Status control , which does not look like Choice control. It was not explained in the New Solution also which was created later on. Can you please let me know , which Control is this ,which is being shown in Order Status ? Thank you so much again.....

    A great start for a beginner, thank you Lisa. I wondering if you would be able to do a tutorial focusing on Solutions with pros, cons and limitations? I'm a little unsure when and how to use a solution, particularly how to manage importing and exporting for development.

    Thanks for the tutorial. Just a note - I had to go into each individual "Form" that was created and click "Publish" on each AFTER the app was published within App Designer. Otherwise it just showed a form that looked like it had never been edited. Maybe I missed something or you pressing the "Publish" button - but just a heads up for anyone else who runs into that.

      @LisaCrosbie  2 года назад

      That's strange, you shouldn't need to do that. Did you see or try the "Publish all customizations"" option in the solution area?

    Hi Lisa, thank you for the video. It was a great starting point. I have two questions regarding making a report in Power Apps Model Driven Apps. 1. In your example, if I would like to have a report that shows something like an order report where the report consists of two main sections: the header information related to the order and the line items of equipment. 2. How do I add a barcode or a QR code to the order report using an order number field (auto generated number) of the order record? Any directions/suggestions would be great.

    Awesome, just amazing video. I was getting no where with my training on Microsoft Learn. I am excited about this now. One problem, I don't get a choice to use classic designer when first creating the model driven app and there is no option to select the Solution. Can you update this video using the in the Modern App Designer??

    Hi Lisa, I have been following your videos and its really helpful.
    I need some help with something in PowerApps. Will try to explain it in best possible way I can.
    I have a PowerBI Tile inserted in a PowerApps Screen (ie, within a canvas app, i go to Insert --> Charts --> PowerBI Tile) . I am having a hard time figuring out how to add a gallery like control from the PowerBI visual in the PowerApp (for example, if I select one row from the powerbi table, or if I filter, i need ability to go to edit screen for that row like how we do for a form control).
    We can easily do that when we have a gallery pulling data from a SharePoint List, whereby we can have a BrowseScreen, details screen and edit screen (where we can edit each item). But I don't see it being possible from a screen showing a PowerBI tile with the data. Please advice

    I do not have an option for a 4 column app. Do you have any settings tweaked or any plug-ins installed for that?

    • @LisaCrosbie

      4 column isn't an option but you can add multiple columns inside the main columns to achieve that if you want to.
