Much like how the Pawn usually gets a kill when it is overlooked or underestimated. It also cannot attack straightforward but it attacks from the flank, so it uses a hidden weapon instead of it's more obvious one.
And also both sides are idiots because they have blundered/mistaked peices (mistake means like not game changing but still bad in this case) multiple times over and also they have made a lot of illegal moves because how does a pawn capture 2 spaces diagonally and somehow both sides never noticed. ie: the rook commiting regicide twice with the white queens.
I especially like the king's animations. you can tell that he's an experienced warrior, his moves are always elegant and well calculated. He really is the kind of king that would fight in the frontlines along with his men
Yeah like, the pawn couldn't hit the knight through the visor slit so he aimed for the neck. The king just went and threw his sword right there at 25:07.

About 2 minutes in and Pawn is my favorite by far. He would definitely fit in an underdog story starting from a barely scraping by peasant working for any job to legitimately becoming a feared opponent by enemies. Cool video!
Rook must really get some armor. He is so powerful and badass but he just keeps dieing in one stab because his entire massive body is completely unprotected.

Would have been incredible if King went Master Splinter on Knight like that one fight scene with Shredder. Splinter looking away and closing his eyes while deflecting every one of Shredder’s attacks with one hand. The King would definitely do this, as he’s the oldest and most experienced and was likely a Knight once, so he’d be almost unstoppable in a duel despite his age.
The pawn vs. pawn 3 (0:57) always bugged me a little due to the dagger not being retrieved. The other animations have everything put away as part of resetting.
