Your videos were recommended to me by a friend, who has been following you for a long time. I started in January 2023, and did a no spend January and a no spend February. I can’t believe how much money I have saved in 2 months. I am prepared to do a no spend March, as well. It is so satisfying to see my bank account balance going up.
I have also trimmed my grocery spending by 10% by being much more careful about what I put in my cart. I wish I had found you years ago.

Putting cash/money you would have spent on extras such as coffee/takeaway in a jar is really motivating even over a month.
I broke a magazine addiction this way and had enough for a short break at the end of the year!

I too try to have a no spend week the last week of each month. That is giving me 52 no spend weeks a year which works out to at an extra 3 none spend months. I will also continue to try and have my usual. 3 no spend months, usually January,July and November.

“Maybe you’ve let things slip… your getting a bit lackadaisical in the supermarket & not sticking to your plan & not sticking to your budget” - blush 🤦‍♀️🤚 that was me this month. I bought way too much for the pantry & freezer. Thankfully it won’t expire anytime soon but I got too many costly treats & specialty items. Resetting for July. Going to try to do a no spend month to even it out…and try not be triggered by talks of food scarcity or seeing my pantry emptying out

I learned a lesson recently, yes I went off the rails on spending! When I reconstructed as to why I determined it was because I did not follow my usual habit of checking my budget every few days. I guess I’m the type of person who must see it written down and then frequently reminded of what I must do!

Thanks for this video. As usual, timing was incredible. Exactly what I needed to hear. I was berating myself for overspending with my grocery shop today. A few great deals on dark chocolate and crackers and vegan pies.
Nice to know that everyone else needs a reset from time to time. I will drink my camomile tea and eat some chocolate, neither of which were on my shopping list, and try not to be too harsh on myself. After all, July can be a no spend month. I feel better now .

I am terrible at no spend months. I am doing better the months I dont have any restrictions for myself! 😂 What I have done, and is a success for me, is to budget away all the money. Sinking funds, vacation, whatever. I give myself a little spending money. If you get the urge to buy something, or you are invited out with friends, you will not ruin your budget, or feel deprived. I give myself around 50 Euro per month. Then I can save up for something I want, or go out with friends, or just that ice coffee I am craving. These days its the local strawberry stalls. The best snacks in the world. 😊😊

We aren’t spenders as such don’t get me wrong in my 40’s shopping at the weekend was a way of life. We try to get what we want for the best price we can and don’t waste our hard earned pensions. We pay out bills monthly if it’s possible with extra charge I’m in the U.K. and pay Council Tax, water rates, gas, electric, TV licence I like my money to trickle out of my account. We have been really watching the amount of gas/electric we use I’m cooking extra potatoes and veg in the hob steamer making the most of the 20mins of gas. We ping the extra new potatoes to go with salad or slice and pan fry instead of chips, using the oven less and filling it up when it goes on. Yesterday I did a traybake of roast veg for our meal and some was set aside to make a roasted veg curry for today, sausage rolls and cheese n onion pasties were put in the oven for meals to come. That’s for the video Jane and Mike it’s good reset and recheck the money budget…….. Love Wendy ♥💋

I like the "put the frugal reset button"! Thank you for this reminder. I have very bad eyes and I will get my new glasses next week. The normal health insurance here in Germany does not pay my glasses, so I had to wait and save for a new one for years, because my new one will costs 1.240 ,- Euros. It is what it is ....and so I say thank you for this very helpful "idea" of a frugal reset button with no spend months. You are very helpful❤.

I can see why the idea of a no spend month needs thought and planning. August means school holidays, but I have been saving for the holidays since Christmas, as well as Ebay selling so I have everything covered and hopefully some to spare in my "holiday envelope". So alth I'll be spending, it's not additional spending, if that makes sense? And I'm still saving a bit alongside it.

I love making ‘Stone Soup!’ Do you know the story? A soup can be delicious made out of anything you have left in the fridge . The only question I would like to ask, with respect, is why do you use a dishwasher at all? You may have already addressed this and I have missed it somewhere. The only time we use ours is Christmas or when we have large gatherings, which is rarely! Keep up the good work and I’m enjoying becoming more frugal in these days when money is so tight. Apart from the weekly shop and the fuel, which is around every 2 or 3 weeks, I've not bought anything.....Ooh, I did buy 2 T-shirts to replace my worn out ones. Hmmmm, that's it. We used to have the first Saturday of the month as a take away night but we decided to stop doing it this year as it was getting too expensive. We will only have one for special occassions or emergencies only. So far, neither have happened.
