So after losing my forever dream truck, that I had for only 7 months, due to a leak in the sunroof and the truck grew mold inside and insurance declared it a total loss.. I had to buy another vehicle so I bought a 2013 Toyota tundra, then learning about the Cadillac converter thefts that had started up pretty heavy at that time So I now have a truck that I worry about when I go somewhere. I am a 64 year-old disabled woman that loves trucks but now I have to worry when I go somewhere that someone's going to steal my converter. I saw your video and wish I could get the shield that you were showing how to put on but unfortunately I can't do that. I just pray that mine never gets stolen. Thanks for video! Awesome job!
Great video. Just installed a Miller CAT shield on my 2014 Tundra that had it's Catalytic converters cut out. Even better news for those watching this video. The latest version of the Miller CAT rear shield has been modified so that no drilling of holes is needed. The rear shields mount using the same holes as the back end of the main shield.
Amazing job on the installation video! Our Tundra Cat Shield rear wings are recommended for the 2018-2021 Toyota Tundra but you've gone ahead and made it possible for all DIYers who wish to add this to their main Cat Shield. Well done!!
So woke up about to leave for work and i heard the dredged sounds of my catalytic converter‘s missing. I was and still am so mad and sad about it. I looked up many ways to secure my cats and by far this seems to be the best option. I’ve already bought the kit using your code and will be installing it on my 2013 tundra as soon as I get it back from the shop. I will not be a victim a second time and this aluminum shield will make sure of that! Thanks for the great video!
I just moved to Denver with my family and within 2 weeks someone has already stole my cat converter. I am using this video to better protect myself. Thank you so much for your advise on the matter and how to better defend myself.

Neighbor next door in 2nd floor rental I slept thru the theft, neighbor heard it but didnt want to get shot we are about 15 feet away. Its summer windows and fans running. At least they didnt bother my sleeping. But her car was sure noisey when she moved it to get towed.
I appreciate the information you gave. It's really important for people out there. To protect their vehicle from is freaking phase. You spend a lot of money on a reveal and someone comes and destroys it just for a few dollars.
This happens everywhere and while I haven’t had my Tundra hit, I still remember the pain of random against my Jeep in Portland, OR last year. During the night, someone poured wet cement down the gas fill neck and of course it got into the tank. I was lucky to spot it before starting it or things would have been a lot worse. We’d been seeing a severe rise in cat thefts in the neighborhood and I was sure we’d be next. The cement was enough and still cost us a whole tank of gas and new fuel pump, plus the day out on the street dropping a full tank. My Tundra has a 6 inch lift so pretty easy access, and I would hate to have this happen since I have to be home in the evenings for my two kids. Loved the video and nice to see the option available to guard against this type of theft. We all work hard for our trucks and to have them hit is a blow to the wallet as well as our sense of security. Thanks for making this video.
Damn that's messed up, if I ever caught someone trying to steal my cat converter I will shoot him on the spot no questions asked, I carry a concealed weapon at all times.
Excellent demo video! Best of all, NO MUSIC to hurt my ears, what joy! 5:45 - What is that jacket on your Catalytic Converter? Noise or heat shield? Looks like a factory install. Painted black. Very nice install! Looks neat and will prevent dirt as well. Too bad they don't make one for the Toyota Yaris or the Ford Econoline earlier models - I have an RV.
Hey Donny, Great video! Ordered one with the wings in stainless stainless this morning for our 2018 Tundra Limited CrewCab. Looking forward to installing it so I can get some sound sleep. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Really helped in my dissension.
My 2009 tundra had the catalytic converter stolen on Christmas Eve. I’ve been waiting about four months now for the California cats to become available. I love the start up on the truck, it sounds like a NASCAR. My neighbors are not pleased when I have to move it early in the morning. I’d like to set it up as a bait truck to find out who is stealing these things. It’s got to stop
I just ordered one from these guys for my 22 Taco. It will be a nice peice of mind. Thankfully most theives are lazy and creatures of opportunity! Any shielding will deter 99% of those vultures! Great video, new follower here 🇨🇦✌️
Great video, well done! I’m a expatriate returning after 5 years in Vietnam. First will buy Prius. Second, purchase and install cat shield. Thanks for warning us about this serious and costly problem. ☮️
The shielding should be standard from the factory for this reason. I saw on the news about a $2 million dollar catalytic converter theft ring around the St Louis area
I have a base model 2014 Toyota Tacoma. My truck still jacked up from the drivers side when I was leaving in the A.M. I knew immediately what was taken. Thanks for the tip about the paint & etching. And thank GOD, the part is not so much in some places. ( I wish I could some how connect some sensors with lights under there so as soon as they go under it ILLUMINATES so brite they are temporarily blinded!!!)
Great video! Active Duty Navy, was visiting Houston for college national championship football game. My 2021 Ram Rebel had its 2 cats taken in broad daylight from the hotel parking lot. Sucks
Wow your shields look great and look easy to attach. I have a 2018 Tundra 4x4. My buddy has a 2016 Tundra. We car pooled today and parked his truck at a train station so we could take it into work. We came back to his truck and heard that noise from the beginning of your video. Luckily they only removed one front cat when the security spotted them and they got away. Now I want to get security for my truck. I'm freaked out that I'm next. I saw your product and gave me a sense of security that I need.
I have been looking for information about protecting my Sprinter 4x4 van from cat thieves. . This is awesome and I'm gonna share it with my neighborhood watch group. Thanks for posting.
Saw your 1st Video...I liked It. Still haven't got my shield yet. Trying to work on it...(Money problems.) I painted cat with heat resistant paint...Marked it with my license plate number and care of my citys police dept...Took some pictures on cell phone. Slow process...I live in Cali and I saw a video that Gavin Newsom supposedly made it illegal for recycle centers to buy any more Cats without proper paperwork or Identification numbers...Just sharing that with you good people.....and my friend on the video...
Great video! Nice rig! The catalytic converter on our family SUV was recently stolen. Our family is devastated and our kids cannot believe that there are bad people out there that would do that to their means of transportation to school, church and family trips.
It must be because you're going to a church that doesn't teach proper biblical theology .... Jesus said There is no one good but God alone! Apostle Paul said there's none righteous, no not one! He also said we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God! Sin entered the world through Adam. We were born into sin and in sin our mother's conceived us... Psalm 51. Everyone is born on death row. The only way to escape it is to be born again! By the grace of God! ....Alone! John 3:3. And that's not by going to church and trying to be a good person, that's Only accomplished by the grace of God that we are able to accept through Faith, the Faith that was granted to us by the Father. John 6:65. Most "churches" (loosely) these days teach man centered theology and don't realize that they are dead in their sins. Also just because we are born again,John 3:3 it doesn't mean we have reached some kind of glorified state from the sin nature That was imputed to all of us through Adam.... Jesus said to his disciples you being evil give good gifts, how much greater your Father and heaven who is not evil?.... Hope this helps you and your family❤ to realize evil is everywhere At all times and in all places, Especially in church "If" they're teaching man center theology.... Jeremiah 17:9. That's why we trust Christ and Christ alone! Ephesians 2:8-9. 😊 For proper biblical theology knowledge go to live in your ministry RC Sproul founded it... Also Paul Washer at Heart Cry Ministries.as well as Apology Church. Founded by Jeff Durban. God bless.
Really enjoyed the video. I bought a 2020 tundra and haven't been able to get it out the dealer I bought it from. They told me that they needed to replace the cat on the vehicle and keep telling me that the part will be there and that they've installed the parts. I'm for sure going to get something like this whenever the dealer gives me my truck.
Had the pleasure of having the cats stolen on my 2015 Tacoma 2 1/2 weeks ago. OEM cats on backorder ~2-3 months. Thinking if I should opt for an anti-theft device or simply install an aftermarket exhaust for the year and store the OEM exhaust system in the garage, and swap them out come time for emissions. A bit more of a hassle, but gets rid of the problem altogether. Imo, better than a thief damaging the anti-theft device in an attempt to steal the cats. From what I've read, some have even damaged the vehicles that do have the anti-theft device out of spite.
i just installed my miller cat shield.. no drilling required and good quality.. the instructions werent very good but the install was easy enough to figure out
Great video! Both good, actually. I had ½ my cats stolen in Sacramento at a best Western. I had a feeling when having dinner, so I decided to just go and check, it was 4:19 in my mind. Got in truck, hit the key, and immediately knew are started cursing. They had the tool too. Muffler chain cutter. No sound, and no shavings on ground and cut was clean. I'm pretty sure I saw the guy who came back for other half, because I was on balcony talking to my boss in Spanish, I said a few key words in English, and I saw his eyes just go up to me. Then quickly looked away and left. Called police, they said none emergency, hotel manager knew this and tried to talk me out of it. OK, now I know he's in on it too. He tried to play it off .Ike it makes our hotel look bad, but it's not. I just said, really? So your saying I had a good experience here? He then tried to walkit back, he knew this was a company stay. I emphasize at that point this is my truck, not a company truck. And then showed me the hotel guest computer so I could file a report online. Police never came. Was not a priority for them. Guy with big empty backpack never came back for the driver side cat. Drove the rest of the trip like that with passenger side cat missing. Loss of power was noticeable. Missing the o2 sensors made my acceleration lag a lot! I had 2 other teardown jobs on way back to Rancho Cucamonga. And guys found it hard to sleep while on long drives between jobs. Was home for a week, filed insurance and everything, new one installed and back running. Everyone thought I was trying to race them. About 2 years ago I had to change driver side cat because it was failing smog. $2,400 later. That was just one side! No body had a California cat in stock aftermarket, only stealership had it. I am worried again about someone violating my baby again.
my 2013 tundra v6 converters were stolen 1 yr ago. all 4 gone.when i first started it up that morning (i had a doctor appt to goto )i thought my trans mission broke ,,,then i looked under and saw 2 cats gone. then i realized i" HAD" 4 ,,, had not moved my truck in 2 days before this happened so i know it was marked to steal by thieves ,,i made a police report but they didnt even come out to the property. thieves left a new sawzall blade on the ground. .i dont let my truck out of site and now park it in a garage every nite..this shield is sold out on the web...the web doesnt state it will fit 6cyl. only v8 ? great vidoe. thankx
I've been "studying" CAT shields for 5 months now and haven't bought yet because of your exact premise, I still see an opening on almost all the shields, so your video speak to the unspoken issue I think so many are thinking
I’ve just recently had cat shields installed on my 2017 Tundra the following day after an attempt of thieves being caught by bystanders cutting into the rear cat passenger side in a busy parking lot at Lowes. They tried to cut in two different places, one was towards the back near the muffler which I have no clue why that far back but the installer was able to weld the cuts back easy since they weren’t cut all the way through and still intact. Anyway, like in the beginning of the video the rear cats on my truck are still exposed after installation. The installer advised that although the majority or the main area is covered, nothing is ever 100 percent theft proof especially if they desperately want them but it will definitely delay them from doing a quick job before getting caught and they would rather move on to the next car with less issues.
My Catalytic converter just got stolen this morning during school. I was in class all day from 8am-4:30pm AND COME TO THE SCHOOL PARKING LOT TO FIND MY TRUCK NOW SOUNDS LIKE A JET PLANE. I have a 2020 tundra, very disappointed and am very interested in getting a protection plate. Thanks for the video!
I was part of a search warrant team and we hit a apartment full of tweaks. They had a bag full of cats. Everyone went to jail. Gf is getting a tundra now. That’s what brought me here.
I installed a MillerCat shield on my Prius. I filled screw sockets with epoxy to make it a little harder to remove the shield. I figure if I need to remove the screws I would burn the epoxy out with a torch. You can by the tamper proof bits to remove the screws any where and so can the thief.
Man I wish I had these known about these for my tundra my catalytic converters on my passenger side just got the cut off two days ago I'm heading to pep boys this afternoon. Nice job buddy
I have the same 2014 tundra and I just got my CAT cut after when I got back from my vacation, great video now I know which one to get for my CAT protection. Thank you very much..
I really like your video. Instructions are very well explained and very clearly instructed for the best protection. I really appreciate your video and thank you for your advice.
agree....most only sell the front piece and still leaves rear cats accessible. Have to cover transmission area as well as transfer case area to cover both. Thanks for video.
what's to stop someone from unbolting and stealing the $400+ dollar shield and then getting the whole kit and caboodle? I mean do they all have the special bolts? judging the picture on the website, it appears the shield for the 20050-2015 4wd Tacoma uses regular old 19mm bolts or something like that, hope I'm wrong..,.
This is awesome!!! 🔥🔥🔥 I like how you showed how to modify your Tundra to incorporate the 2018-2021 rear wing add-ons so that you could protect ALL 4 CATALYTIC CONVERTERS! My dad is currently interested in purchasing some cat shields for his Tundra, so I'm going to send this video to him so that he can use your discount code 👍👍. Great video! 💥💯💥
I put the small rear cat plates on top of the main plate and used the original countersunk hardware instead of the replacement button head on the back edge. Worked fine.
I watched your 1st video earlier & thought it was great but this one was easier to find the CAT shields. My daughter just moved back from the South West Houston area with her 2020 biggest tires ever Silverado for heath reasons. She's very concerned about someone stealing her Catalytic Converter & so am I! I own a Toyota Corolla LE & tons of converters are being stolen in my area! Thanks for the great video! Hopefully we will get her shield up as soon as we can afford the cost. But thanks for making the video cuz most people have no idea what to do!
About as straight forward and simplified as I have viewed on this topic. Great information and presentation. Headed to the website for more info on makes/models. Thanks.
I have 2003 Honda pilot I'm on a fixed income & had to put out $1,058.00 to have a universal catylatic converter put on my pilot . Because mine was stolen. I painted it and now it is performing under emissions so I took it to the place that put it on and they said I voided the warranty on it so now I have to put out another $500.00 to replace it. I will not paint it again so I need the sheild to put on my vehicle.
Hi, just got myself a tundra and had it parked in the street. Unfortunately I had my 2 cats on my right side stolen 2 days ago. It really upset me to the point where I wanted to go catless, but after researching different avenues of protection and seeing your video, I decided to go ahead and get new cats and install this piece with the rear shield modification. I also bought the cat eye alarm and cat strap for added protection with painted cats. I'd love this see the thieves face when he tries again. Thanks for the info and video.
I haven't installed it yet. I'm hoping to today. Any chance you remember what size and type of drill bit you used to put holes in the frame to accommodate the rear shield? Thanks
Just found out about this problem. Just got a 2012 Tundra. Will definitely be needing this. Enjoyed this video as well the previous. Will be checking out your others. Wish you the best brother.
I live in the Houston area and had my cats stolen from my 2013 tundra 3x last year. I had the basic shield installed after the 1st attempt but it apparently didn't do the job. I am glad to come across your video but I am at the point where I don't want to even deal with my truck anymore. Unfortunately, I love trucks so it's always a possibility to get cats stolen from my next truck choice. Decisions, decisions.
Had both my cats stolen, just got out of the hospital for prostate surgery and I still have to deal with that issue. I have a 2003 Sequoia let me know the cost.
Thanks for the vid! I had to present at low-ready on a group trying to steal one off of my neighbor’s Tacoma last month in the middle of the night. They had a lookout in a nearby vehicle too. Long story short, they won’t be stealing cats for a while.
can i straight pipe like cat del??? and just add the o2 sensors ? my 2020 tundra cat were just stolen and its gonna cost a fortune, if i straight pipe and add sensors it will 500$... would i have mechanical issues ?
I've seen videos where they have stolen em out of the driveway in broad daylight & on the side of the road. Would be a good idea if u can to put it in the garage @ night & lock your garage door
@@CodysGarage Wow. That's terrible. We have a friend that had his stolen during the day here @ church w/a parking lot full of cars & ppl & cameras. His face was caught on camera as he looked @ the camera. What an idiot
I just got my 02 Sequoia back from the dealership yesterday so this is recent but 3 weeks ago I had both cats stolen plus a cut transmission cooler line in the process while I was at work, I work at a electronics testing equipment manufacturers headquarters which should be semi secure (cameras and roving patrol) area. And the parking lot is pretty much baren as most people at the headquarters building are still working remotely. Here is the kicker, I was actually looking into making my own as there is only one company that makes any protection for the 1st gen tundra/sequoia and it is an actual skid plate, they are selling out like hot cakes because of that and also had just jacked up their prices because of material cost and demand. So it is on order now and it will be in between 3-5 weeks right now before I actually see them.
Dang. I also have a 02 sequoia and have been paranoid about this. Those skid plates are like 3 4 hundred bucks right? Really wish I could rig something that would shock the hell out of someone trying to do this
Hi, thanks for sharing with those of us who do wonder is today will be the day my cat will be stolen, as for me mines were stolen twice off my 2005 Tundra. I now own a 2011 with 4 cats I sure hope I can get this done soon Thanks again for your time and I do believe I can speak for many. Take care and stay safe
I messaged alot of company's on Instagram, Millercat was super fast to respond, and the questions where 100% answered with confidence. I also like the fact they show alot if the manufacturering and development on the instagram page "USA made", by real American Hardworking People.
I find it amazing that cat protector's don't come stock with all new cars and trucks for last 20 years because we all know about this theft problem for a very long time now, I don't worry about it because if you have fire and theft on your Insurance this is covered and if you don't then protect your auto! I made the call to my truck Insurance company to make it is covered and low and behold it is, so no worries
I just got new cats after mine where stolen planning on getting a shield as soon as I can afford to. Was just wondering if anyone has had there’s stolen even after installing a shield?
IS it possible that 2 of the 4 Cats are actually their future plan to make use of the coming DPF requirements that we are told are coming to gas engines, e.g., the European vehicles all come with DPF as required by Europe for European vehicles?
Hi-- Thanks for the very detailed videos-- Not to be negative... but the back of your cats are still exposed.... I understand that they have to cut both ends to get the cat out.... However... why is the cover still so short that it leaves the cats exposed? What am I missing?... -Thanks :)
Great video and very thorough information installing catalytic converter I would not figure how install it and this would be get a shield catalytic to protect from stealing my Toyota thundra I love my truck! Awesome!
I'm fairly sure the cats actually like to be hot, and actually the transmission which likes to be cool. Seems to me the vent holes are in the wrong location.
As an owner of this Cat Shield, I see the Toyota Dealers didn't go the extra mile like you to install rivnuts. Nor loctite the threads to prevent under torqued fasteners from falling out as the aluminum sheet starts rattling like a banshee. Also note to the not 100% DIY'ers that fasteners need to be removed for Oil changes AND REPLACED. The dudes at the local oil wrench place didn't torque or replace them right. Hence they fell out somewhere between Denver and Yellowstone National Park. Finding a replacement is almost impossible. Could you hit up Miller Cat to offer fastener kit to help blokes with lost fasteners? Toyota can't even get 'em.
Just started looking for solutions for my ‘19 Tundra. This looks to be the most practical one so far since it appears to be removable for exhaust replacement when needed
It's a good concept but it would still not stop the thieves from stealing. They can just undo all the bolts of the shield rather than cutting through it. Maybe welding the shield it self would stop them.
Donny, I just got a YT recommendation for your videos and ironically, the first suggested video hits on a topic of increasing concern. I'd been thinking about VIN Code etched into the Cat. I think this might be an even better suggestion. Thank you.
I had my catalytic converter stolen twice this year off my 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. I wanted to purchase the MillerCat cat shield specifically but unfortunately they don’t make it for my car 😩
Hey bud how are you. I don’t know if you would be able to help me but I wanted to tell you I have an Avital system on a 2012 Honda Pilot. Every once and a while the remote start stops working and it beeps twice when you lock it. I would have to take it to a far away place where I got it installed at when that happens. Also do you know how to turn off the chirp and keep the horn. Do you know how to turn off passive arming. The headlights don’t flash or anything either when unlocking, locking, or even when the alarm goes off. As I said is there a way I could fix the remote start when it doesn’t work and beeps twice when arming. Thank you so much and have a good day.
What I want to know is what are our legislators doing to put an end to this. Thieves won't steal what they can't sell. Laws have been put in place to curb the theft of copper with some effect. So where are the laws for the cats? Scrap dealers won't buy the cats if it means going to jail. Every cat was or is mounted to a vehicle with a registered owner so when someone brings cats to a scrapper they should be required to etch the VIN from said vehicle on every cat that is brought in for scrap and it should then be checked against a data base for recently stolen cats. Anyone bringing in large amounts of cats without a legitimate reason such as being the owner of a muffler shop or a wrecking yard should be denied and investigated. Requiring a valid DL or state ID to accompany any and all cats being recycled and putting a limit on how many cats one can recycle in a given year would do more to stop the thefts then any aluminum shield could ever hope to do. Stopping this isn't that hard it just takes some one in congress to write the laws and appropriate the funding for enforcement. If they need money then maybe stop sending it to Ukraine.
I got an 05 tundra and went on the website you put in the description and they don’t have any for the 1st Gen tundras. Only Tacoma’s and Prius’s. Gonna have to do some more research see if I can find one for it.
I live in a rough neighborhood and my 2018 tundra cat has been stollen before. I think the shield is great and would like to purchase one so I can sleep better at night.
What about when you take the car to the dealer for maintenance, would they have a problem with the shield? I have a 2018 RAV4 is there a different shield for smaller SUV?
In California, the smog check requires visual inspection of the catalytic converters to ensure they are OEM. How does a vehicle with the shield pass smog?
I ordered one for my 2007 Tacoma 2WD prerunner but Miller said that it will not fit my truck since its a prerunner..so I had to canceled my order.. now i am looking to see where I can find one that will fit my truck
I was about to leave work on a hot Friday afternoon ready to get my weekend started; I turned on my Tundras auto start to get the AC on and immediately new I’d been robbed by the sound of it. Spent the last 4 weeks battling with insurance company to pay for oem parts instead of aftermarket. Just got my truck back yesterday. If I ever walk up on someone doing this again… anyways thanks for the advise. Does this shield provide full coverage for the rear converters as well. They still looked exposed in the back end?

This is perfect advice for the proper defense against catalytic converter thefts.
The converter detects its been cut, then airbag suspension completely drops all air pressure, crushing the thief.
unfortunately you would end up in jail as most states have booby trap laws.

I just bought a Tundra back in November. This is the best advice I've received regarding my Tundra.
You definitely gave me the information I need to make a decision on which shield to buy. After watching countless videos, I’ll be ordering this today!
Awsome!
The feeling of getting off work and finding out my cats were sawed off is horrible!
Great video, new follower here 🇨🇦✌️
My 06” accord had my catalyst stolen. Insurance covered it. Had to get a shield. So far it’s still on the car 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Great video, well done! I’m a expatriate returning after 5 years in Vietnam. First will buy Prius. Second, purchase and install cat shield. Thanks for warning us about this serious and costly problem. ☮️
Thanks for sharing, it truly is appreciated 🙏
Thanks for sharing!

Walker brand makes CA compliant cats that are much less expensive.
How many cats does a 2015 have?
Is it possible to install an RCI skid plate in combination with this setup?
i just installed my miller cat shield.. no drilling required and good quality.. the instructions werent very good but the install was easy enough to figure out
Awesome.
Thanks for sharing 👍, I've been told all the shield company are having material shortages and Miller should have some stock in the next week.
Damn
my 2013 tundra v6 converters were stolen 1 yr ago. all 4 gone.when i first started it up that morning (i had a doctor appt to goto )i thought my trans mission broke ,,,then i looked under and saw 2 cats gone. then i realized i" HAD" 4 ,,, had not moved my truck in 2 days before this happened so i know it was marked to steal by thieves ,,i made a police report but they didnt even come out to the property. thieves left a new sawzall blade on the ground. .i dont let my truck out of site and now park it in a garage every nite..this shield is sold out on the web...the web doesnt state it will fit 6cyl. only v8 ? great vidoe. thankx
After being hit 3 total times with 2 different Tundras, I finally just ordered one for my 2019 Tundra with your coupon code. Thanks for the info!
That's terrible. Glad to hear you have a sheild on the way.
I've been "studying" CAT shields for 5 months now and haven't bought yet because of your exact premise, I still see an opening on almost all the shields, so your video speak to the unspoken issue I think so many are thinking
Check out valhallas shield
This is a great idea
Why overthink it? Just rivet it in place
Sorry to hear that, it's sucky. Take care.
Same reason why im looking at the cat clamp model. Seems to be more secure
@@MrWzeljunior 🤔
This is awesome!!! 🔥🔥🔥 I like how you showed how to modify your Tundra to incorporate the 2018-2021 rear wing add-ons so that you could protect ALL 4 CATALYTIC CONVERTERS!
My dad is currently interested in purchasing some cat shields for his Tundra, so I'm going to send this video to him so that he can use your discount code 👍👍.
Great video! 💥💯💥
out of stock currently , I've been told 2 weeks . Thanks Buddy
Great job "INCLUDING" the rear wing.
Awesome video bro! For sure, the theft will move along once they see the protection shield underneath there.
Where's that tune video bro? Can't wait! No more!
@@Donnythelatemodeltech I know, soon bro.
Or they'll break something just in spite.
I put the small rear cat plates on top of the main plate and used the original countersunk hardware instead of the replacement button head on the back edge. Worked fine.
Cool
0:26.. Not sure what the problem is. That sounds awesome!
Thanks for sharing 👍!
About as straight forward and simplified as I have viewed on this topic. Great information and presentation. Headed to the website for more info on makes/models. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing. And good luck!
Excellent vid, I can appreciate that pneumatic lift as well.....
How do you like the alarm?
I haven't installed it yet. I'm hoping to today. Any chance you remember what size and type of drill bit you used to put holes in the frame to accommodate the rear shield? Thanks
@@keithr5591 I used a step bit, no sure what size the hole was.
Mine was stole on May 8th while I was parked in an ER parking lot while I was at the hospital. Still waiting on repairs.
Just found out about this problem. Just got a 2012 Tundra. Will definitely be needing this. Enjoyed this video as well the previous. Will be checking out your others. Wish you the best brother.
Thanks! Good luck out there.
@@Donnythelatemodeltech if you still have the shield I would very appreciate if I could be the recipient thereof. Please and thank you in advance.
Can I get a cat shield for my 2003 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner ?🤔?
I wish I would have saw this in June it now August and my truck is still not fix the part is not coming in until October
Thanks for the info
Thanks for the directions. Putting this on my 2021 TRD PRO in the morning.
Awesome! I installed a different shield, but really appreciate the DIY video. It helps people.
One of the best security device shield! I believe once they see this they would just go away! Looks like it covers all openings.
👍
I live in the Houston area and had my cats stolen from my 2013 tundra 3x last year. I had the basic shield installed after the 1st attempt but it apparently didn't do the job. I am glad to come across your video but I am at the point where I don't want to even deal with my truck anymore. Unfortunately, I love trucks so it's always a possibility to get cats stolen from my next truck choice. Decisions, decisions.
best way to prevent converter theft is putting on JBA long tube headers, JBA catless midpipes and a JBA cat-back exhaust.. nothing to steal..
I haven't really thought about this issues much until I saw your video. Looks like I need to do some research into one.
Had both my cats stolen, just got out of the hospital for prostate surgery and I still have to deal with that issue. I have a 2003 Sequoia let me know the cost.
Awesome video you dont happen to know if that company makes shields for 2006 sequoia . I had one of my catalytic converter stolen .
Thanks for the vid! I had to present at low-ready on a group trying to steal one off of my neighbor’s Tacoma last month in the middle of the night. They had a lookout in a nearby vehicle too. Long story short, they won’t be stealing cats for a while.
ruclips.net/video/jWiCGnDbKl4/видео.html
can i straight pipe like cat del??? and just add the o2 sensors ? my 2020 tundra cat were just stolen and its gonna cost a fortune, if i straight pipe and add sensors it will 500$... would i have mechanical issues ?
I've seen videos where they have stolen em out of the driveway in broad daylight & on the side of the road. Would be a good idea if u can to put it in the garage @ night & lock your garage door
had mine stolen mid day from hospital parking lot...

Question ?! . What made you go with Miller cat . Most people are going with Talon's Garage or Valhalla. I am still trying to decide 😬
I messaged alot of company's on Instagram, Millercat was super fast to respond, and the questions where 100% answered with confidence. I also like the fact they show alot if the manufacturering and development on the instagram page "USA made", by real American Hardworking People.
I find it amazing that cat protector's don't come stock with all new cars and trucks for last 20 years because we all know about this theft problem for a very long time now, I don't worry
about it because if you have fire and theft on your Insurance this is covered and if you don't then protect your auto! I made the call to my truck Insurance company to make it is
covered and low and behold it is, so no worries
I think the worry is that it takes months for replacement parts.
@@Rod-db8tt yes your right, but maybe just clamp a flex pipe on while a person wait's if possible,
better yet hope it never happens
I just got new cats after mine where stolen planning on getting a shield as soon as I can afford to. Was just wondering if anyone has had there’s stolen even after installing a shield?
Can I please get protection my cat got stolen I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse cross
ruclips.net/video/jWiCGnDbKl4/видео.html
IS it possible that 2 of the 4 Cats are actually their future plan to make use of the coming DPF requirements that we are told are coming to gas engines, e.g., the European vehicles all come with DPF as required by Europe for European vehicles?
Well Done Donny, as I got 2010 Toyata Tundra SR5 and trying to search to cover my Catalytic Converter.
You went with the aluminium one instead of the steel? Interesting
What's this thing I've heard about the inside of the car being hotter because of adding a shield?
I just wondering the shield that you're using compatible with the TRD skid plate?
Hi-- Thanks for the very detailed videos-- Not to be negative... but the back of your cats are still exposed.... I understand that they have to cut both ends to get the cat out.... However... why is the cover still so short that it leaves the cats exposed? What am I missing?... -Thanks :)
Can’t they just cut through the shield since it’s aluminum?
Great video and very thorough information installing catalytic converter I would not figure how install it and this would be get a shield catalytic to protect from stealing my Toyota thundra I love my truck! Awesome!
Glad it was helpful!
I'm fairly sure the cats actually like to be hot, and actually the transmission which likes to be cool. Seems to me the vent holes are in the wrong location.
Unfortunately they dont have these for 10th gen accords. Have to get a custom refab.
I have a 2002 tundra wheres the shields for those? i cant find any
Just started looking for solutions for my ‘19 Tundra. This looks to be the most practical one so far since it appears to be removable for exhaust replacement when needed
Yes sir. I've been told the shields will be in stock in the next 2 weeks.
It's a good concept but it would still not stop the thieves from stealing. They can just undo all the bolts of the shield rather than cutting through it. Maybe welding the shield it self would stop them.
It would also stop the transmission from being serviced. Nobody's solved that issue yet?
@@charlesbeall2589 yeah seems like there isn't one yet.
Grinder to the heads of the bolts drops that plate real quick
Donny, I just got a YT recommendation for your videos and ironically, the first suggested video hits on a topic of increasing concern. I'd been thinking about VIN Code etched into the Cat. I think this might be an even better suggestion. Thank you.
John thanks for the recommendation and comment, I do go over vin etching in this video ruclips.net/video/jWiCGnDbKl4/видео.html thanks again
Looks like they need to be etched in at the factory these days
Thanks sir for taking the time to show the tip for the community. I have a 2000 Tundra. Any recommendations on how to protect it?
How does a vehicle with the shield pass smog?
no one cares you dummy.
Damn it! I knew I should have bought the rear shields. Mine is a 2011 and they are sold out now.
