Just a quick video showing how I installed the MillerCat CAT Shield on a 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD (Non - Hybrid). The Hybrid version comes with a small extension that you will connect to the main shield. If you have the Larger TRD Skid Plate, you will need to let MillerCat know this when ordering so they can get you the longer bolts needed as the cat shield needs to go up under the rear of the TRD Skid Plate.
This was an easy install and I am very happy with it. This CAT Shield is much heavier duty than I expected. I am very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone with a 2022 or newer Tundra.
    From their website:
    Material: Premium Grade 5052 Aluminum | 3/16"
Our Tundra 2022+ Cat Shield™ is recessed so that thieves cannot remove the wings by cutting off the screw head. As an added bonus, our shield is thick enough to act as a skid plate and protect your vehicle from rocks and debris. This shield protects all four converters.
Notes: Shield may have some surface imperfections. Professional installation recommended. If you have made Lift Kit modifications made to the cross member of your vehicle, our shield may not be compatible.
Our Fitment Guarantee: While we do our best to test and verify every model, it is impossible to know for sure. We guarantee that if your vehicle is listed on the fitment table and you purchased the right shield for your vehicle but the shield does not fit, we will issue a full refund including return shipping on the product. The vehicle must have the original converter and no modifications to the suspension. If you are unsure about your fitment, please send photos to support@millercat.com to verify fitment before purchase.
    FAQ's
Will the shield interfere with maintenance such as engine oil and transmission fluid changes?
All Miller CAT Cat Shields will not interfere with your oil changes. Some vehicles will require the shield to be removed for transmission fluid changes. Check your maintenance schedule on how frequently to change your transmission fluid. Toyota's recommendation is 30-60k miles and 60-100k miles depending on your vehicle and driving habits.
Does this shield cause the converter to overheat?
No, our shields will not cause overheating or damage to your vehicle. In addition to shields, we manufacture catalytic converters, so we know how to protect them without damaging the converter or your vehicle. Read about this in more detail.
How long does it take to ship?
We know you can’t wait long to protect your converters when theft is so rampant. Here at Miller CAT, our shields are made to stock and ready to ship. Unlike many other companies that make shields to order, we fulfill orders in 1-2 business days and if possible, on the same day.

I picked mine up at the Miller Cat headquarters in Santa Clara, CA. Their research and fitment setup is quite impressive.

We call type of fastener bolt "tamper-proof TORX".
There is an even more "secure" TORX bit where 1 of the bit splines is offset a little bit...not symmetrical.

Just yesterday (I have three 15 second clips) a guy pretended he was running (in the rain) and my cameras alerted me via iPhone. I watched as he stopped behind my 2020 Tundra, looked at and under my truck and then happened to look straight at one of my cameras, he then looked down and scurried off. I also have a 2020 4Runner and I put a Millercat shield on it the first week I had it…
I just today bought a Millercat shield for my Tundra 4x4, complete with the rear add on shield pieces. 594.00…, also bought some AirTags, this theft business is getting out of hand. I am retired Law Enforcement and this business of favoring the criminal over the victim is clearly an attempt to undermine local authority. I believe the endgame is more of a dictatorship than any sort of Republic, if you pay attention you’ll see it’s been playing out for a while.

On 2024 Tundras you have to put the front on first.

Is it compatible with the trd skin plate

    • @DantheFixitMan
      @DantheFixitMan  8 месяцев назад

Yes, it comes with longer bolts so you basically will sandwich it in between. The instructions show a diagram of how to do it.

Yes, it has the Rough Country 1.75" kit. Here is a link: amzn.to/3qcCwOj
Sorry, I didn't film the install, but it was pretty easy.
For the Tires I am running the 285/60/20 BFGoodrich KO2 tires on the stock 20” wheels. (No issues or tire rub at all)

Just installed this on my 2024 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro and now my truck makes a loud clicking sound when I turn the steering wheel at slow speeds.

      Hi Christopher,
I didn't have any problems or noises with this shield at all. I did put one on a Honda Accord that had aftermarket exhaust which was a little off center compared to the stock exhaust so it made a little contact with the shield and made a rattling noise. It was easy to find and easy to fix by clearancing it with a small grinder. I would maybe put a gopro or something similar underneath to see if you can find out what's hitting and/or find the problem. You also might just get underneath with the wheels turned each way to see if you can figure it out. And maybe double check that everything is installed correctly on the shield. Sorry you're having trouble with it, but best of luck to you finding the noise. Please update us all on here if you're able to get it figured out.
      Take care,
      -Dan

This sound I’m referring to. It’s more of a knocking sound. I just dropped off my truck at Toyota. I’ll let you know what I find out.

Turns out the cat shield and the skid plate mating points is what was causing the knocking sound. They added special silicone and lubricant and now the noise is gone. If you do not have the TRD skid plate, you won’t experience the noise.
