The NextGen nclex is coming up soon🥺and I just fail the exam on my second attempt🥺🥺🤦♂️💔,I cannot begin to articulate the level of embarrassment and heartache I'm feeling right now 🤕😣,I'm confident that I will be a good nurse too. I just need to get past this too and move on. 🥺
Coming here to say I got the OR job as a new grad nurse and your video helped so much!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS! It’s true, they really love the word “advocate” 😅 thanks again girl!!!! ❤
New grad here- interviewed for two OR residencies and I prepped SO much for the interviews. Both were shockingly short and to the point. Both asked these 1. Tell me about yourself 2. Why do you want to work in the OR 3. Have you dealt with angry surgeons/ how One of them asked why they should hire me over another candidate. THATS IT. SOOOO SHORT. I precepted in the OR my last semester of my BSN though and completed over 216 hrs, not sure if that affected my interview questions/length.
I dont think it affected the length/questions but you definitely would probably be more likely to get the job because of your practicum experience. Good luck! Hope u get the job🙂
I’m watching this video after the fact of watching the one where you said you left the OR. So when the question came up about how to deal with disgruntled surgeons, I was trying to figure out if it was ok to ask them if they had such surgeons there. 😂 Like, why is that a question to me and you’re not dealing with them? It’s called professional conduct, and when you’re asking me such questions, it leads me to believe you permit such behavior. It wasn’t the typical how do deal with conflict when it comes to another coworker. She said DISGRUNTLED. 😂 That’s beyond conflict
WIll you please help offer suggestions to these 2 questions, I recently struggled with these at an interview. 1) What are your weaknesses? 2) Tell me about a conflict with a coworker and how you handled it?
Thank you so much! I have an interview for a job fair and will be asking for a spot in OR! Fingers crossed. I want to the job so bad. I realized after few week last that floor nursing Is not for me.
I’m in MedSurg as well and want OR to see the procedures from start to end. Please share your progress and congrats on your new role. Any other tips to help me stand out from other applicants?
Ok so on call means that you will get called in for a case if needed. For example, the OR is generally closed on weekends and holidays, meaning there are no "scheduled" cases. When you are on call, you are at home, but you may get called in to come in to work if an urgent/emergency case comes in(i.e ectopic pregnancy, ruptured appendix etc) When you get called in for an "on call" shift, it is usually paid time and a half. After the case is done, you go back home and hope you dont get called in again. You are on call for a specific time though, so it could be 12 hour or 24 hours.
@@luvnurseb5552 Hi I just saw your reply. I’m hired on the spot 5 months ago, I think I posted my question here 2 or 3 days before my job interview :) Thank you. And yes, I am getting paid for my orientation as Clinical Nurse II at the OR. My next rotation is on Robotic or DaVince Surgery, it’s just so exciting. Thanks again and I love OR, so much far than working on the floor.
Coming back here to say I watched this the night before my interview and I got the job thank you😇

Well, I've taken the exams for the 4th time now and still didn't succeed, i wonder how those who succeeded did it. 😭💔
I failed 3 times, i lost money to reviews that never helped but the major thing is that l've not lost hope.

I have interview in two weeks but I don’t really know if being OR nurse as a new graduate is recommended
I love it so far! The bedside is not for me!
Great overview!
How many hours do you work per week please
It was 36 hours, 3 days a week. Some OR positions are 4 ten hour shifts, or 5 eight hour shifts.
How old is too old to become a nurse? I'm 52 with a BA degree but not in the health industry.
Can you be a or nurse straight out of nursing school
Hi Jessica. Thanks for watching. Yes u can go straight to the OR from nursing school. There are mixed opinions on whether you should or not though.
I will graduate in two months I was wondering what on call nurse means please

@@luvnurseb5552 thank you so much. How many hours can you work per week? Lol I just want know my pay 💰
@@luvnurseb5552 can you ask in the interview about the on call time I will be scheduled for, or it fluctuates each call
@@raphaelsride4737 yes! Definitely ask about it during the interview. The amount of call fluctuates from place to place
I am a fresh RN and want to go to OR but am confused, should i get med-surg experience first or just go for OR ?
If you are sure that the OR is where you want to be at, then go directly for it. They are two very different worlds.
Is there a salary on the 6 months orientation?
Yes. U get paid your regular hourly rate.

You don't want to be paid salary as a staff nurse they'll abuse you
