FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE "THE FORSAKING" LYRICS
Left aside my commiseration
I look inside to wash my frustration away
Spit the hate!
Your vengeance's rising for your own salvation
Vehemence, rise!
To face the betrayal
Dream of the dead
Forever
Despised by the damned
Betrayer!
(To) Kill's my aim
My own destination
And I die inside
For my revenge you cry
Spite is spread!
Your pledge of innocence is dead and gone now
(I) Liberate my darkest devotion
Dream of the dead
Forever
Despised by the damned
Betrayer!

This band is fascinating to me.
They take what are often considered diametrically opposed genres - classical and death metal - and mix the two to create something that somehow displays the best aspects of both.
Truly a one-of-a-kind group.
Song description:
"How to touch the feelings of a metalhead."
Metalheads dont have any female feelings. I'm not a fucking pussy man
And what are "female feelings" exactly?
LordTyrannide Basically it's all about love, being desperate, weak and mourn.
+TheSlaying Slayer have you not listened to dsbm bands?
+upelt I LOVE DARK SUICIDAL BLACK METAL! it makes me happy and cheerful! what are your favorite dsbm band's?
One of the most tragic and powerful songs in deathmetal...
Metal is melodramatic, so is ballet. So is Shakespeare and opera. Emotion is universal in scope. That's why good metal has a timeless quality too it.
This is art.
Basic of the...
No way. Only you.

the moments he screams when solo begins make shiver the whole of me
I couldn't agree more, it is so well timed it must be intentional.
2021. Still getting shivers and kicking my bleeding heart out from my chest. THIS.IS.ART. MASTERPIECE. STILL!
Italians make true art. plain and simple.
Claudia mariani they are the masters of art
Are fleshgod Italian lol
@@Corey-tp2eo yeah
@@Corey-tp2eo cause they're Italian

As a guitarist... I totally love the solo! It just shows, that a beautiful solo can be composed with that little number of notes. No shred, sweeps, tapping... just well picked notes and a huge amount of feeling added = perfection!
Quiet.
The crying dude at the end makes me cry like a children.
My gf cheated on me and i remember everything when i hear this song.
I'm broken inside.
+Seeker Junior Same man, im so sorry
youre not a real man
You're*
Real men know how to cry, and how to feel. Also, they know how to spell properly.
Seth Luminous Oh really man, this is so awful. You really care about grammatics, here on yt? you know what? I dont give a bullshit about it. And the next thing is... I don't know if you were joking at this part or if you were serious (hope not) but I was kinda joking, you know? Let's give it a try and get some sense for irony.
Hope you got over it man...happened to me too, but you know, it taught me so much about life. Now I'm with the love of my life 10 years and going strong.
Honestly the piano adds so much to this song. Just everything about this song is perfect.
No ballerinas were harmed in the epicness of this masterpiece.
Awww the foot of that ballerina was not in its place multiple time.... I didn't like.
@@ekaterinanadezhdafucik5761 Hahahaha funny tho
Shit.
Damn 05:25 automatically brings tears in your eyes, that solo stabs your heart ;(
DAMN! Those drums are fucking relentless, and the piano is just too beautiful! And that solo... holy hell. These guys' talent and skill are off the goddamn charts. Absolutely masterful. I only discovered this band like three days ago but this is definitely my favorite so far.
+ValekHalfHeart So I hope you get or already got the new Album King? This is imo the best of their albums. A masterpiece like all the other ones.
Yes King is a masterpiece! Just an incredibly solid listen front to back.
I can't get over the fact that I didn't like them when I was younger. I mean...this is so beautiful...how can someone not love it?!
Same here man
Same here. The older I get, the more beautiful heavier music becomes. FA totally blows me away nowadays..
I couldn't handle really heavy stuff until I turned 16, from that point on I was slowly phrased into metal (started with As I Lay Dying and metalcore and journeyed through everything in-between this wonderful genre until I found, in my opinion, the heaviest stuff known to man: technical death metal! Been exploring metal for ten years and every sub-genre is like a different flavour of tea.
"The Betrayal" followed by "The Forsaking" is definitely one of my favorite 'one-two' punches in all of metal.
Alright, alright. I usually don't comment on RUclips but this time... WHAT IS THIS BAND? I am in shock! Every single song of them I've listened is a masterpiece! The speed, the orchestra, the vocals. Congratu-fucking-lations!
Symphonic Death Metal :P \m/
The only way to describe them is look up the word 'Epic' in the dictionary =)
Hell yeah \m/,
bmenios Symphonic Death Metal
I've listened to Death Metal (Amon Amarth, At the Gates, Hypocrisy etc) and I've listened to Symphonic Metal (Nightwish, Epica etc) but never have I encountered before someone who unites these two genres so successfully!
Left aside my commiseration
I look inside to wash my frustration away

haha here I find you again hahahaa
I love the exposed piano part. Its not covered up its a very prevalent and important part of the song. Its not how pop singers will be blessed with a band, but cover the band up entirely with electronic crap. I love this style of music. You can feel the pure emotion even though most think its just angry noise. There are themes in these song that are amplified by a good video, such as this. Themes that aren't par for a pop group, its nice to get something that isn't over played and over hyped and in reality, isn't very good. This in my mind is a masterpiece worthy of more attention than it is given
Pretty much how I feel. I have told my friends who listen to pop, I have learned about topics I never even thought existed, words and stories I never heard of and probably would have never discovered if not for a metal song. It is pretty much one of the very scarce genres out there that can mix any instruments you can think of. I won't ever be ashammed to tell someone I love this music, and I have learned to simply discard "friends" that have tried to put me down or paint me as less than them because of that stupid topic about "good music" and "bad music", telling people who listen to rock and metal that they have bad ears for music or that they are sooo artistically superior because they enjoy classical music...I also do enjoy it but this right here is my perfect combination. Drums and aggressive sound can find harmony with violins, pianos, etc.
@@christianrenteria1677 Classical music and metal are related my friend :) I enjoy both, and when they combine: truly aswesome! FA is masters at this
I think if anybody ever asks what music I like, I'll answer "angry noise". :D
Thank YOU! Fleshgod are close to our hearts. We admire them very much and are very glad they are part of the Nuclear Blast family!
Love Fleshgod so much!!!😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Who still cries with this song?
I saw them in 2016, and they closed their set with this song. Tears were flowing from everyone, it was amazing \m/
Easily one of my favorite Fleshgod songs. This band is simply incredible
5:26 Holy shit! That solo is what shredded my heart into a million pieces.
Fleshgod Apocalypse is a group of Gods)) Amazing
every song on this album is a masterpeice
This truly shows how far metal has come as a genre. From scare tactics of satanism in the early days to beautiful ballet performances coinciding the music. Long live metal!
The way the drums stop and they hit the low C on the bass and the piano together is fucking awesome. I love the mix of this. Very prevalent bass.
This is art
+IconsOfEvil 666 Agreeeeeeee
This is art!
this is the most beautiful symphany ever created..my god this bring tears into my eyes...
Actually Metal music is not only directly derived from European classical music as it is heavily interconnected with the customs and themes that some of the greatest composers of that epoch attempted to convey through their music.
Both genres represent many things and appeal to a wide range of people, but if there is something almost universal that transpires from both is its thematic and philosophical depth and a technical understanding of real musicianship by the part of its practitioners.
I swear on you guys, words cannot explain how much i love the concept and the power of the images in all this, as well as the music and the lyrics always majestic and profund, you guys are one of the few reasons that makes me proud of being italian, keep up!
My eyes bugged right out of my head at the video's climax. I was NOT expecting anything remotely liked that. I feel shocked and creeped out and I absolutely love it.
Easily my favorite Fleshfgod Apocalypse songs. They are one of my favorite new school metal bands.
What is a playlist to us is an experience to others. Many undeserving , yet inspired.
i will never forget you guys were my first concert since 2/22/16...
+Stephanie Ferguson I'll see them on july :D
Really where at in europe?
+Stephanie Ferguson They are italian, and I'm italian :D there will be a metal festival and they will be there
+Ludo Bro i know that and thats so awesome i wish i could go to it but i cant
+Ludo Bro. have lots of fun at the festival..you wont be disappointed
THIS..... is art!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After this video, I am bandwagonin the fuck out of this band. I wish I knew about them sooner. This is an absolute masterpiece. This piece as a whole(song, video, and all) is a modern Romeo and Juliet caliber work of art. Keep doing what you're doing Fleshgod Apocalypse \,,/
I wish the FYE I go to sold that album. I would have gotten it in a heartbeat.
+Cristian Hernandez (Chris181912) And funny enough, once my tax refund hit me, I went to FYE and somehow found their last copy of King. I'm jamming to it right now :)
This song is so beautiful, sad, brutal, it makes me feel relaxed. The 1st time I saw this video, i thought the girl was Cristina Scabbia
When you love ballerina but also listening to death metal
😂
My favourite Fleshgod song. It's just fucking amazing. Although, The Violation is a close second.
This might just be one of my favorite songs ever, the nice speed drumming, the beautiful piano, the way he does the vocals in this... I just love it
Never have figured out who is doing that terror dome vocals.
Damn,why am I crying?
I'll never get over this song
Damn, I was listening this song over and over for two years, but just today I found they relesed an official video...
I wish I was doing that. I just found out this band existed :-( Past 2 years of my life ruined.
The video is very mesmerizing. Perfect video for the song
So here it is what I think the video means:The dance simbolizes their relationship. But the girl starts being selfish and has too much ambition (this is when the guy raises her, but then he puts her down in the ground, as a result she gets angry because the she wanted to remain "important"). The golden guy is satan, that takes advantage of her selfishness and ambition to take her soul, so he seduces her. Satan gives her what she wanted (to be "important" - when she is raised), but then he takes away what she wanted and her life, because, c'omon, he's Satan (fuck you satan, btw). While the devil seduces her, her lover feels betrayed and is there, watching them, feeling the sadness, but his love for her remains strong, so when she dies, he sacrifices himself to change his soul for her's by liking the blood. At 6:02, the golden gramophone represents the golden guy - satan. By keeping his sould and giving back hers, she lives again. Sorry for my english.
Hail Black Metal! \m/ I mean. That's pretty much it right there. I figured that she only danced with the devil because he dropped her (emotionally) and didn't help her back up and instead walked away. But to each their own interpretation. That's what art is about. I like you interpretation.
But her (possibly) evil smile at the end..... maybe she faked dying and it was a plot with Satan to take his life?
@@Corey-tp2eo its up to everybody, and i thought the same. Was it her plan? Mmh.. i love it
Dr. Mantis Toboggan, M.D. How is this Black Metal? Isn’t it Death Metal with a symphonic twist because of the piano?
Well it seems more like Satan possesed her and killed her so the guy would kill himself and thus only living him really dead but not the girl.
my favorite song by them, it's crazy how much I listen to this and it doesn't sound any less amazing
Still keep coming back to this song.. YEARS after its release!! Such a perfect balance of woeful epicness!!!
I see a lot on here comparing them to septic flesh. both are great bands, but from a technical stand point, fleshgod is massively talented all around. fleshgod composes full symphonic compositions, and as brutal as they are, are rooted in the baroque and classical era. Septic flesh, on the other hand, doesn't use symphonic styles nearly as much, and it coming from a less classical stand point. I'd say that fleshgod optimizes symphonic death metal, and septic flesh is less consistent in their sound.
i dont know septic flesh, but compared to the famous "technical" bands, FA is not that extrem on the guitar, great solos but not the riffs.(nothing against FA is awesome!) but the overal concept is great,
What about Carach Angern that is syphonic black metal... ?
Zdenko Vuksan there is a lot more symphonic black metal than death metal. My personal favorite is Apostasy.
Eh, I think Septic Flesh are just better in general. Especially the last 3 albums.
Fleshgod is definitely more powerful and emotional. Labyrinth is a god damn master piece. What an epic explanation of Mythology. I appreciate songwriting more than the overall sound of the band.
Клип и история поистине воодушевляют не любить...
The emotion and feeling pouring out from this song is unbelievable and narrow minded people think metal is just noise.
Don't know why but this is one of (if not) my favorite music videos I don't pay much attention to the lyrics more so the music and the imagery, it gets me really emotional and I can't quite figure out why, I could come up with a deep meaning, but that's for you guys to come up with.
probably my favorite fleshgod song. Love the way everything works together.
this is fuckin' ART. Always shivers and tears when I listen this masterpiece... And the video is perfect. Thx for that
These guys are amazing. "The Violation" has to be one of the most relentless songs I've ever heard.
The piano is perfect with this song! I freaken love this band🤘
a masterpiece
I think it can be better without the vocals and the drumming. (And btw if you disagree with me you should totally see the doctor because I am the god machine and my opinion is superior.)
Yeah, for real.
My favorite song from these guys. It will always be this one.
One of my favourite videoclips. Tells a very good story and the timing of the solo is just perfect
Yes! I'm so glad they did a video for this song. This is easily one of my favourite songs from the album.
So much raw, unbridled emotion in one song. I remember seeing this performed live in a tiny venue in Bend, OR back in 2016. Crammed against the stage with tears streaming \m/
This song on piano can be played anywhere how beautiful it is and nobody would know it originally comes from a metal band unless you know the song/band BEAUTIFUL MASTERPIECE
This song still touches my soul every time
Why does top Fleshgod songs sound like a blessing to me?
So, this is how periods work?
lol
ha!
Yeh.
😆
these guys should totally do a cover of phantom of the opera
As in Phantom of the Opera by Iron Maiden?
Evan Whelan I'm pretty sure AL C means the theme form Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical "Phantom of the opera"...
And call it Phantom of the apocalypse!!!
Sleipnir Gaming Nah, Phantom of the Opera by Nightwish
The piano and the orchestra parts make this song perfect!
Bellissima canzone. Grandissimo gruppo italiano
Dark Lunacy and Fleshgod Apocalypse are my 2 favorite Italian bands ever
everytime i listen to that song i am getting goose skin... incredible and very unique song.
Devastating. My heart is still in pieces.
What a great song. And her smile at the end seems so sad and sweet at the same time.
Elders React!!!! Bring it
+iggy151 liked for the picture
Yeah man!!!
I think I did see an elders react to metal video, and The Violation was in it.
Four years too late to reply, I know.
It feels like a lost track from Dimmu Borgir Stormblast, incredible.
mantyxxx what is the difference black Vs Death?
@@UriBlack
Death: Typically lower tunings. Growling.
Black: Higher tunings. Screaming/screeching.
I will see them with Septic Flesh and Carach Angren next week.
Three awesome band...this concert will be so awesome...can't wait.
I can only watch this video maybe once per year. It moves me to tears every time.
What does everyone mean it's their worst song? I actually find this good song. In fact, i love it. Glad that I find this band, though. Really great band. =D
This might be the most beautiful death metal song with this piano, I just love it. Try to find anything like this, I tried hard and failed.
This is by far the best song of Fleshgod Apocalypse imo.
Epic! Just EPIC!!!
I don't know how many times I have seen this video and every time I end amazed.
The video and the song complement each other.
Simply beautiful.
Love the piano in this.
One of the best songs I've discovered in all of 2012. Freaking amazing. The drama, the intensity and the slow buildup to the guitarsolo, it's just amazing. Top notch.
I wish Fleshgod would make more songs like this, because to be really honest, the albums get quite hard to listen to. The constant high intensity makes it wear on the ears and there's not much dynamics. The last album could have used a song or 2 with this intensity and atmosphere.
Such beauty... Many blood...Wow!!
like Karazhan raid in WOW at first pictures of the music clip... :D Long live Fleshgod Apocalypse!
5:25 sound+image is genius
Saw them last night. One of the most beautiful shows I've been to!
This song is a technical master piece. Love it! Gives me chills haha
Loved the piano, absolutely loved it. These guys are damn amazing [\m/]
I love the slow tempo along with the beauty and power of the song, chilling!
Best song of them! love the vocals and the background symphony
This song is epic, entertaining and reminds me of the movie Black Swan. As such, this is one of the best heavy metal videos I've seen.
Piece of ART !!
this song has Amazing meaning
and the lyrics is awesome !
5 starts
and feel sorry for the ppl who didnt see this amazing video
\m/
Fucking hell!!!! This is amazing and really wonderful! Love those guys. Respect from Barcelona
I dont think anyone is listening to this and expecting it to be a typical death metal song full of generic riffs and blast beats. These guys are holding true to what music is...This song is well crafted, It hits hard where it needs to, the melody flows well, the piano is subtle and yet powerful enough to make it beautiful and haunting, and the vocals are not overpowering and instead lie under the music and reverb is used well in the chorus sections to make it feel huge. These guys did incredible.
A breathtaking masterpiece!
Forza, Italia! :)
seriously, fantastic band, amazing album, can't stop listening to this
the outro was too amazing :D
Magnificent Darkness \m/
