    FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE "THE FORSAKING" LYRICS
    Left aside my commiseration
I look inside to wash my frustration away
    Spit the hate!
Your vengeance's rising for your own salvation
    Vehemence, rise!
    To face the betrayal
    Dream of the dead
    Forever
    Despised by the damned
    Betrayer!
    (To) Kill's my aim
    My own destination
    And I die inside
    For my revenge you cry
    Spite is spread!
Your pledge of innocence is dead and gone now
    (I) Liberate my darkest devotion
    Dream of the dead
    Forever
    Despised by the damned
    Betrayer!

This band is fascinating to me.
They take what are often considered diametrically opposed genres - classical and death metal - and mix the two to create something that somehow displays the best aspects of both.
    Truly a one-of-a-kind group.

Been exploring metal for ten years and every sub-genre is like a different flavour of tea.

I love the exposed piano part. Its not covered up its a very prevalent and important part of the song. Its not how pop singers will be blessed with a band, but cover the band up entirely with electronic crap. I love this style of music. You can feel the pure emotion even though most think its just angry noise. There are themes in these song that are amplified by a good video, such as this. Themes that aren't par for a pop group, its nice to get something that isn't over played and over hyped and in reality, isn't very good. This in my mind is a masterpiece worthy of more attention than it is given

    • @christianrenteria1677
      @christianrenteria1677 5 лет назад +15

Pretty much how I feel. I have told my friends who listen to pop, I have learned about topics I never even thought existed, words and stories I never heard of and probably would have never discovered if not for a metal song. It is pretty much one of the very scarce genres out there that can mix any instruments you can think of. I won't ever be ashammed to tell someone I love this music, and I have learned to simply discard "friends" that have tried to put me down or paint me as less than them because of that stupid topic about "good music" and "bad music", telling people who listen to rock and metal that they have bad ears for music or that they are sooo artistically superior because they enjoy classical music...I also do enjoy it but this right here is my perfect combination. Drums and aggressive sound can find harmony with violins, pianos, etc.

Actually Metal music is not only directly derived from European classical music as it is heavily interconnected with the customs and themes that some of the greatest composers of that epoch attempted to convey through their music.
Both genres represent many things and appeal to a wide range of people, but if there is something almost universal that transpires from both is its thematic and philosophical depth and a technical understanding of real musicianship by the part of its practitioners.

So here it is what I think the video means:The dance simbolizes their relationship. But the girl starts being selfish and has too much ambition (this is when the guy raises her, but then he puts her down in the ground, as a result she gets angry because the she wanted to remain "important"). The golden guy is satan, that takes advantage of her selfishness and ambition to take her soul, so he seduces her. Satan gives her what she wanted (to be "important" - when she is raised), but then he takes away what she wanted and her life, because, c'omon, he's Satan (fuck you satan, btw). While the devil seduces her, her lover feels betrayed and is there, watching them, feeling the sadness, but his love for her remains strong, so when she dies, he sacrifices himself to change his soul for her's by liking the blood. At 6:02, the golden gramophone represents the golden guy - satan. By keeping his sould and giving back hers, she lives again. Sorry for my english.

Hail Black Metal! \m/ I mean. That's pretty much it right there. I figured that she only danced with the devil because he dropped her (emotionally) and didn't help her back up and instead walked away. But to each their own interpretation. That's what art is about. I like you interpretation.

I see a lot on here comparing them to septic flesh. both are great bands, but from a technical stand point, fleshgod is massively talented all around. fleshgod composes full symphonic compositions, and as brutal as they are, are rooted in the baroque and classical era. Septic flesh, on the other hand, doesn't use symphonic styles nearly as much, and it coming from a less classical stand point. I'd say that fleshgod optimizes symphonic death metal, and septic flesh is less consistent in their sound.

So much raw, unbridled emotion in one song. I remember seeing this performed live in a tiny venue in Bend, OR back in 2016. Crammed against the stage with tears streaming \m/

One of the best songs I've discovered in all of 2012. Freaking amazing. The drama, the intensity and the slow buildup to the guitarsolo, it's just amazing. Top notch.
I wish Fleshgod would make more songs like this, because to be really honest, the albums get quite hard to listen to. The constant high intensity makes it wear on the ears and there's not much dynamics. The last album could have used a song or 2 with this intensity and atmosphere.

I dont think anyone is listening to this and expecting it to be a typical death metal song full of generic riffs and blast beats. These guys are holding true to what music is...This song is well crafted, It hits hard where it needs to, the melody flows well, the piano is subtle and yet powerful enough to make it beautiful and haunting, and the vocals are not overpowering and instead lie under the music and reverb is used well in the chorus sections to make it feel huge. These guys did incredible.
