Today they have a handful of units that still have these from the Conrail days they're very rare to see today on the GP38-2 but there's one particular SpongeBob Square cab that has one from its former model before it got rebuilt
thanks for posting (especially in 1080!) the right (from camera's perspective) horn is a little loose, you can see it lift up a few inches each time it is blown
@rockguitarist946 Railroads discovered that K5LAs were a bit cheaper to maintain. As long as it's cheap and makes a lot of noise, railroads will use 'em.
Watch the left trumpet at 3:06. The train horn blows and it jumps up. lol!
That is one healthy sounding horn! Nice catch!
I remember hearing that horn back in the day love that sound and the one on the Amtrak as well

My dad used to drive one of these and
At the time he thought that it was the best
Looking train of that era/time
Great video, nice horn.
Indeed!! These are my favorite horns.
A lot of locomotives in Victoria, Australia have those
Unfortunately most of the Pacific National A classes that had the Leslie RS5T horns were scrapped
Nice video!!! Man I love that horn!!
Not only did I watch, like and comment but i subbed too!
FYI 2624's RS5T fell to corporate axing this year and now wears a new k5la

You’re right,Sir! Sad to see… Vibrations are destroing now all these rare old castings …
Music to anyone who grew up near the L&N!
Curtis Tate its music to any train horn fan.
Or early CSX
Horn of all horns. Great sound.
Hey...now we know when the next train was due.
That GP-38 and it's RS5T Horn shold be enshrined in the EMD HALL OF FAME!
Excellent video and Especially the horn!! 5*****
Nice horn
Sounds like a goal horn
some of their B40-8's had similar horns
It was the mesh snow/bug sock moving on the #31 bell , not the whole bell. If it were that loose it wouldn't work.
Emotional Train Horns!

Awesome!
Wonderful video!!!!!!!1
The horn is so loud that it moves🤣
AMAZING!! Is that also a RACO bell on that crossing?
it's the 31 bell that's moving.
Nice!
Unfortunately the RS5T has been removed and has been replaced with a K5LA.
WATWAREHD boooooo
That's CSX for you. Strip every engine of their identity by giving them crappy over-the-road horns. The over-the-road horns in particular suck.
The king of the worse horns...
Mont-Joli Sub Railfan what are you talking about? Leslies are waaaaay better than what you hear on newer locos.
Screw you
Leslie RS5T horns are the best followed by the new cast Nathan p5 horns
