I'm okay with using the body towel as my hands, but not my face anymore. It's funny cuz we think our body is clean so who cares, but we can never fully "clean" our body to get rid of all the bacteria he's talking about
TLDR: Add sodium percarbonate (active ingredient of "Oxi Clean") and Borax alongside your detergent. Do not use more than 2 fl oz of liquid laundry detergent (unless you're a farmer, chef or mechanic). Sodium Percarbonate is literally powdered hydrogen peroxide (oxygen/Oxi bleach) a disinfectant and color safe bleaching agent and sodium carbonate a highly alkaline substance that helps soften water and remove/prevent mold. Borax is also highly alkaline (eliminates mold/mildew spores), softens water, deodorizes and increases the effectiveness of hydrogen peroxide by approximately 40-65% depending on water quality, the material/surface you are washing and other factors. Meaning you can use less hydrogen peroxide, oxiclean etc and get the same results. And if you have an issue with detergent residue (which means your laundry is not clean) then reduce the the detergent you use and add borax which helps water strip it from fabrics. You don't need as much laundry/dishwasher detergent as you think it's highly concentrated. Most laundry detergent measuring cups have 5 fill lines (or approximately 5 fl oz), unless your clothes are heavily soiled by motor/cooking oil and mud you typically do not have to use more than 2 fl oz *for a full load.* The only purpose of soap is to increase the effectiveness of water. It's a glorified water additive with chemical fragrances. The best way you tell if you're using too much soap is to look for suds. Commercial soaps are formulated specifically to have as few suds as possible. If you manage to create any then you are using too much
After showering I always dry my face with a clean washcloth. As for the towel that I use in my body, I hang it to dry and wash it at the end of the week. My towels never smell and are always dry. Washing it every day is overkill in my opinion. The towels are in wet, they’re not dirty . I think it’s important to hang towels correctly, so that they air dry. Washing your towels after every use will shorten the life of your towels.
.....Yes, and I don't use the towel I use on my body , for my face. Also I add a vinegar to the rinse water in my wash when I do my towels and I use my towel about three or four times before I do wash it. One of the biggest culprits for clothes smelling bad -especially towels and whatnot - is a dirty washing machine ....and I use the vinegar for that purpose, as well and once a month I bleach out my washing machine with diluted bleach.
Chelsea, he didn't say wash towel after every use but to wash it after 3 or 4 days of use. Me personally, I don't want to use the towel on my clean body after 3 days.
I saw a RUclips video of how towels and wash cloths carry bacteria and E- coli. It makes sense. I wash my towels and wash cloths every day if not every other day.
I always use a clean fresh towel everytime I'm in the shower or washing my face. I can't even imagine not doing this every time. Thank you and God Bless you Dr. Mandell
I don't use a towel for anything but to dry my hands after washing. I use 2 washcloths (one for face, one for body) daily. Using the one for body to wipe excess water off after the shower. Then air dry while lotioning down and getting dressed.
In high school, I used same towel for days but this man is right! Damp towels develop odors. Today I NEVER use same towel or washcloth because mold/mildew can accumulate rapidly. Also, it's wise to wash your face using your hands because towels are rough, not gentle for skin. You may have to do more laundry but it's better than having a stinky towel, lol. There is fungus among us!
Oh!!! Absolutely we have to change when needed but Dr we can also hang the damp towel in the sunshine 🌞 is that acceptable or advised to get a clean towel.
in the 1980s my Clinical Ecology M.D. advised me to use towels only once, then wash and dry it. I had experienced a chemical pesticide exposure that compromised my immune system, and had become very sensitive to mold and mildew. A single use of a towel provides the necessary moisture and residual skin particles to provide an ideal culture medium for the growth of mold and mildew. Although my immune system is now much stronger, I see no reason to offer it unnecessary challenges; I spend lots on (natural) laundry detergent! (Changing bedding at least once a week or more often if you sweat a lot is advised for the same reason.)
I use a new towel with every shower, but I know that many people use a towel several times. Once you started to wash the towel after every use, you cannot use it several times, because you wouldn't feel.clean
Exfoliating of skin remains on the towel. Like bedding, towels should be washed at least once weekly to keep skin eating insects & bacteria to a minimum.
After each use I make sure to open and let it air out. Never fold after use. Also, I NEVER use a towel (ESPECIALLY the towel I use to dry my body) to dry my face. I let me face air dry. One other thing; I do not use any color towel but WHITE.
@@serbear0691 if your body is clean after a bath, your towel is clean. Hang it up to dry thoroughly. There's no need in wasting water and energy to wash towels every day, that's just silly.
@@markme4 bro what 😭 why the hell would you wash a towel everyday that’s such a waste of water and soap that’s so dumb wash it once a week that’s so much smarter💀
I always sundry my towel..if possible do it everyday or alternate day...its not environment friendly to wash very frequently ..and even after proper washing some detergent is left in it..and it comes in the contact of skin..
I make a drying station by setting up a wide hanging rack and a fan. Hang item towel and position the fan direction underneath pointing up (vornado style fan) and let it dry. I keep a fan on somewhere in the house at all times so it has no effect on electricity because it would have been on anyway. If I’m going to work I leave it on low. If I want my fan for other reasons I leave it on high and check on it in a an hour or so. And I wash my towels with oxiclean and use the hot “sanitize” setting on the dryer for good measure. I have 3 towels that I randomly swap between throughout the week and wash them once a week. I could probably go longer but every now and then I forget the use the fan and, letting them sit dry without the fan gives the grubs too much time to grow.
We got spoiled with towel warmers in each bathroom. After showering you get nice warm towel to dry off with and then it dries it off within an hour or so.
I air dry my face by fanning it. I've been doing this while healing my eczema flares and this has helped. Then i pat a little Vaseline on my face. And I'm good to go.

I tried changing it to save on water, electricity and work BUT I just couldn’t, it bothers me not to wash the towels after one use 😒
I use bath towel and wash cloth only once ..can be helpful to use clean hand towel instead of bath towel. In any event, no matter how well you scrub, the towel and wash cloth are no longer clean after one use. Allow to air dry and then put in laundry hamper.
I let my towels dry after dry put in my machine but get a clean after two or three days feels clean on your body and washcloths I use to wet my face to wake up in the morning use soap on face but I was taught not to dry face I press cold water/warm water with onto my eyes let water dry to face keep face wrinklefree amen😄

I use to wash my towels with my socks and underwear but the towels would smell sometimes. So now I wash them separately and plan to start buying white towels so I can put a dash of bleach in with the wash to kill off all that gross fungus and bacteria.
I hang mine on a hanger and they never smell. When I shower I always get a brand new washcloth and start with my face and end with the undercarriage. I also wash my towels and washcloths on hot with a half of cup of bleach and let them soak after the spin cycle ( I have an older top load with an agitator that you can fill whatever water level you want), the new eco washers suck and don’t allow that unfortunately.
No dr M. I hang my towel over the shower curtain to dry all day. When I wash the towels (kitchen too) you use less laundry soap and add a 2 cups of ammonia. Ammonia will kill fungus and mold and doesn't affect the color. There's no ammonia smell either afterwards. Been doing this for years.
The same goes for pillowcases especially if you use face creams, have dermatitis or acne! I remember telling a teenager about the need to change his pillowcase with acne cream over his face all day.
