Man are you wrong about the looks of the 350z roadster. It's one of the most classic designed convertibles on the market. With the top down, it's very noticeable and a fun driving experience. A great perk is that women love it but maybe I'm biased because I love mine.
Yeah seriously; it's insane how crazy women get over this car. I've owned nearly a dozen cars, trucks, and SUVs in my lifetime from just as many manufacturers; nothing and I mean *nothing* gets the ladies' attention like the 350Z Roadster (especially if you have one in a fun color; mine is Daytona Blue). They literally walk up to me and compliment the car. Wish I would have bought one a decade ago when I was still single... This is the ultimate chick magnet.
Just found one of these 1 owner with only 30k miles. Lived in a garage its entire life for 13k. Im flying down in a week to drive her 1000 miles home to live in my garage for the next 20 years 😂

I am glad not everyone got the same taste, the world would be boring. I think the 350z roadster looks awesome with the top down, especially when you add a ducktail on the trunk. I own one myself and most of my JDM friends are jealous when I am the only one driving around with the top down in the summer, nothing beats driving around hearing all the noises and feeling the wind in your hair on a hot sunny day. I do agree the coupe looks better. But the roadster is not ugly at all with the top down in my opinion.

4:10 You *do* realize that factory steering wheel controls work just fine with aftermarket radios, right? All you need is an adapter. If they're not working, then it means that the person who installed the radio was too lazy and/or cheap to do it properly.

I own this car and while I like the 350Z, butt ugly is acceptable. It looks so fat without the coupe hard top but I think all you need is a spoiler of some sort to break up the curvature and make the rear end look better.
Looks are subjective. I’ve heard people say they don’t like the looks of this car before. I think it’s good looking. It’s better looking than 95% of the cars you see on a typical day on the road. I drive for a living so I see it. But again, it’s subjective. I don’t own this car or anything and hold no bias.
About the thing with the LSD. I'm pretty certain this car actually does have a LSD or as Nissan called it "VLSD". The only 350s that didn't are the base models. The easiest way you can tell a base model from a non base model is that base models don't have VDC or any buttons on the steering wheel.
This isn't entirely true. I have a Roadster Touring and it doesn't have VDC, but it has the steering wheel buttons. It also has cruise control, leather seats, and had the BOSE system before I replaced it, so it's definitely *not* the base model.
@@Psythik vdc was in the more higher end trims. I should of been more clear about that. The regular tcs system was fitted in the autos and lower trim models
@@UnderratedKillua The Touring is the second highest trim, next to Track. And my Z is a manual because it's a sin to drive an automatic sports car. So why don't I have VDC? I'm kind of bummed that I don't because IMO it's *way* more important than TCS if you want to have fun without worrying about losing control. So I turn TCS off and rely entirely on my driving skill. Thankfully the Z is easy to handle, even if you suck at driving like me (unlike my Genesis Coupe 3.8, which you will regret it if you turn the TCS off on that car. Ask me how I know). But I still wish I had VDC as a backup just in case I lose control. I'm mature enough to realize that I'm not a very good driver, despite how much I love going fast and drifting around corners.
@@Psythik i personally have a base 07 because I didn't want tc or vdc. Because on the z cars even if you turn it off, it still kicks in in 2nd and 3rd gear, which isn't good since I drift. On the other hand, Nissan was very weird about trim levels across the years, but the 07-08 top trim were the nismo then the Grand touring, Grand touring being the most expensive z you could buy back then for 07 and 08.
Well that's a total turn off you find the 350Z ugly but you like driving it it don't make sense to me if I found a car ugly I won't be driving it and I wouldn't be posting it give your head a shake dude
I agree with your hot take. The 350Z and 370Z are too stubby and round and cartoonish in coupe or convertible form. 350Zs got cheap and were used up and crashed so you don't see too many of them any more. This automatic convertible was probably someone's cruiser so it survived.
My 5AT HR roadster keeps up with manuals until 180 km/h. If you think this transmission has a "mind of its own", you're doing it wrong. It rev-matches downshifts beautifully. Manuals have nothing on me on canyon roads, I'm ALWAYS in the right gear and I don't have a 15 year old clutch to worry about so my lines are cleaner on said roads. 😉

Jeremy Clarkson was ahead of his time on that one. His hot take from the mid 2000’s original Top Gear review reflects a lot of the criticisms mentioned here. A Japanese sports car, styled by Americans, managed by a UK/Indian fellow, with an engine engineered in France. What could possibly go wrong?
Dont believe everything that Clarkson says. He most of the time says bullshit. The engine is not french. Its made by Nissan and it existed before the Nissan and Renault alliance. The engine is 100% Japanese.

They got cheap and were either worn out or wrecked. It used to be pretty common to see these scraping the ground with worn out suspension and rusted-out exhaust you could hear from the next town.
Town of 15-16,000 here, we have 3 roadster Z33s driving around. The other two are still rocking OEM wheels, my HR is rolling on Enkei Kojin 18's with 265/40 in the back.
I love your honesty in these reviews. There's not a whole lot of reviewers that are brutally honest about vehicles. With that being said I kinda agree with you on the looks of the convertible Z. I actually never knew a convertible version of the 240sx existed but after looking at it, I like it. but Honestly of all the models you mentioned they do all look better in Hardtop configuration. I d like the newer convertible 370Z, they do look just as cool as the hardtops to me. great video man, I always enjoy your reviews, your taste in cars is similar to mine.

Also I would much rather have a de then a rev up. Rev up engines are huge hit or miss. You either get a good one or a bad one. Alot of the bad ones are in the anniversary edition and other 05 year models. The thing that are bad about them is the oil consumption issue (which are actually worse in certain scenarios than the DE). I'd just stay away from the rev up motor. DE is still a decent motor. But of course the HR will be the best, but remember, you pay more to get the best.

I have a 2005 Anniversary 6spd manual, Navi, VQ, full loaded. Mine is stocked & very clean. Everywhere my roadster goes it gets compliments 👍🏼

They still turn heads today in 2022. My HR roadster "cruiser" has indeed survived... 65K miles on an HR. Long way to 200K.

2007-2008 350 they fixed the issues I got 2007 dosnt burn no oil daily driven. 68,000 miles

Incorrect. This HR makes 306 in auto or manual form, and pre-2007 non-SAE HP ratings would show the DE was down on power by about 30-35 WHP.
Why does my auto always beat manuals then?
The 05-06 manual versions got the revup motor with 300hp.
