I was working at Nissan when these came in. I did a pre-delivery inspection which requires a test drive... It was that blue with the orange-butter seats, 6 speed and Bose system. It was an experience to drive when brand new, like so good! 😋
The stupid smile on my face cannot be stopped, whether it's watching this 'retro' video or driving my HR roadster. Thank you MW.
It's such a fun car to take on a windy, twisty road. I just wish it had more power. For a vehicle pushing nearly 300hp it feels quite slow.
@@Psythik Big difference between VQ35DE Z33's (03-06) and VQ35HR ones (07-08) that rev to 7,500 RPM. Driven by SAE measurements kicking in for 07, the HR has 25-35 WHP on a DE. Big, big difference on a twisty road.
Heh i was working at a Nissan dealership in 2004. These were sooo fun to drive. Especially when they're manual
"Were"? They still are fun to drive. I just bought one (with a manual, of course) and not only is it a joy to cruise with the top down, it handles like a dream. Just wish it had a little more power but it's still faster than your average ICE car on the road, even in 2024.
These engine blocks are strong, my 05' Infinity G35 is still running strong
Need for speed undeground vibes.
Midnight Club L.A. vibes
Rachel's ride.
Yes!
@@lost_voyager86hers was a hardtop.
😂
The 350Z is a modern-day certified classic
This car was ahead of it's time...
I still like the 350Z to this day. The 370Z is also a good car, too. Such sporty looks.
20 years later I still desire for this lovely car, but I'm no longer young
Never too late
Why do you think 'mid-life crisis' was invented?
Go buy one. :)))
@@alancooper4368 yes! :)
Definitely get one! Age ain't NOTHING but a number, bro!
And usually later in life people are finally able to afford the things they wanted when younger...
I feel that the orange color looks perfect on the 350Z in the 2000s, whether coupe or roadster.
It's my favorite 350Z color besides the cobalt blue.
Yes John, I will join you next week for more Motorweek.
2:27 John: WHAT FUN! LOL
One of the best drivers car ever made...
Never been a fan much of Nissan's other offerings (Maxima is pretty cool). But the Z line of cars have won me over since the 1980's! And sad this new Z has gotten a bit overly complex in places, even so this 350Z Roadster kicks ass. Great car.
These Mazda Miata competitors came and went while it’s on 4th Gen and 34yrs deep…I can see why this car flopped with that price tag but that VQ is just 👌
Still want this. Timeless car
1500$ salvage title “timeless”
These aged like 2% milk.
I'm a sucker for convertibles.
In 2024 I still have my 2004 and only 90,000 miles. Cherry condition.
That color 😍
This was the best z EVER!!!! R.I.P the others trash
It's still basically the same , except for the turbo.
Anyone else about 40 and thinking there's no way a lot of these "retro reviews" can possibly be this old? Now if you'd excuse me, I need to go ice my back.
35 years, here, and 06 Mustang GT feels perfect, now if I only could've afforded it when I was graduating high school and it came out of the factory
Needs a Motordyne exhaust
I will always laugh that Nissan made the Z sound like that on purpose
🎺 🏎️
Nissan/Infiniti used to be so great. WTF happened?
Gran Turismo 4 vibes
Ironically my 2020 Nissan/Infinity QX80 massive SUV accelerates at the same 0-60 time. How times have changed.
Yup, took 16 years for a boring ass suv like that to catch up to a classic sports car. But guarantee even if it accelerates the same you're over sized suv loses in a 1/4 mile 😂. Oh yeah and costs 5 times as much
aged better than the 370z
Same chassis 20 years later. You can buy new retro.😅
What might have been with a twin turbo option....😢
It would be... uh... the new Z that buyers are staying away from in droves.
This should do better than a 6.0 second 0-60 sprint.
Someone didn't do a good job launching it.
Not much better they are slow cars
It's probably the extra convertible weight. He said .3 slower then the coupe to 60mph
@kevinlogan2306 with a few simple mods these cars are very fast
My '05 Camry V6 does 0-60 in about 8.2 seconds. 0-60 in 6 seconds is not slow in my opinion. @@kevinlogan2306
My dream car when I was 9 🤣 But I drive an Altima lolol
I see you're making the best of it. lol
big altima energy
Never to late to trade up
I hate it when people say "droptop". It's like people saying "crotch rocket". Why is "convertible" or "sport bike" so hard to say?
And then Ford put out the S197 Mustang and this didn't sell much anymore
always looks way better than the coupe because it's not a fastback design that is so prevalent these days
Well the Z has always been a fastback Coupé
Love mine she not going anywhere
Hubba hubbaaaa. 🥵
_🎶🦅_
😂 My 99 Pontiac Bonneville has less hp but almost as fast 0-60 unreal it is 6 and my car is 7 not much changed in 5 years 2 gears and one second. By the way my car was 8,000 dollars cheaper brand new Nissan you fell off. I think you and Renault were in business together by then quality in the toilet.
The 350Z is a corner-carving, drifting legend, not a straightline demon, though it's not a slow car. If you just want a fast 0-60 and nothing else, then an '02 Camaro SS will do.
1st one
