- Ikea has some AMAZING food in Singapore. They incorporated a lot of local cuisine into their brunch menu, like the Lor mee and water-cooked shrimp. The desserts are phenomenal as well.

Small correction, this is not actually the largest IKEA in Singapore. The largest one is at Tampines, they even have a specific Halal section at that outlet.
Omg tysm I've been searching for a halal one in sg but couldn't find any solid evidence on google
Awesome!
Thank you!
Ty for the halal recommendation.
@@user-mv2vc4vf1z the halal one at tampines has totally different dishes unavailable in the non halal section, sometimes lamb chop and last i visited, theres this beautifully tender beef cheeks dish. go and try!
Mike: "This has SUCH a delicate flavor!" ... proceeds to dump a half-cup of garlic hot oil on it.
So what.

Gotta have the chilli oil!
As a swede it's fun to see how IKEA looks in other countries!
Hillarious how many swedish words they tried to stuff into that place ^^
as a Norwegian, I agree
Hej!
love the rave about the desserts. The Daim cake is a household piece of dessert that is avaliable in most grociery stores in the freezer. It is the exact same one you just had and it is delicious and a piece of childhood for many.
Omg I’m jealous! It looks heavenly!
Actually the largest Ikea in Singapore is at Tampines which you should have went when you visited Tampines Hub. They have free shuttle service as well from the nearby bus interchange. However each Ikea like you mentioned have slightly different local menu.
Their garlic toast is great as well and is perfect with the mushroom soup.
FYI lor mai kai and siew mai is read using their Cantonese names hahaha that's how we call all the dim sum items in Singapore and Malaysia.
They actually have the shrimp here in the US! Most Filipino stores sell them in the frozen aisle. I grew up eating them and we always have it at every Filipino party. It’s so gooood! One of my favorite types of shrimp to eat! ❤
Just came from work at an IKEA! And I happen to work in food as well. Just in time to see this video 😊 Thank you for the review and it's so nice to see what other countries are doing.
The quality in Ikea Singapore has dropped tremendously and like almost all the items are easily purchased from the frozen section. The prices except for the hotdog are straight out of Halloween.
I absolutely love this guy's content it's just something about spending the quality time to eat delicious foods around the world and giving a valid opinion about it aswell keep up the great work strictly dumplings I'll always watch ur great content👍👍
FYI Mike, here in Singapore diabetes is one of the chronic diseases that we really want to win the battle against. So that explains the lower sugar levels in our food/drinks.
why sugar cane juice is so popular then?
Nah bro it's because of taxes, more sugar=more taxes.
@@TheRazerlg Singapore trying to reduce diabetes, not the ppl lol
@@mohaksharma7430 Which is a good thing. And why do you think sugar is heavily taxed, if not to fight diabetes ? The US should do the same, but the sugar lobby fills Congress pockets.
The outlet at Tampines is the largest, it's a huge, blue building!
The cheese tart is my guilty pleasure! You were there probably during the Deepavali season hence the briyani dish. Another seasonal dish I love is beef cheeks with spicy pasta. Not always available but it's so good!
I was just introduced to the IKEA kitchen here in San Diego. I was shocked how good the food was. The Price is not bad either.
The meatballs and smoked salmon are always my go to’s, I’d love to try the different plates in Singapore. Those tarts looked amazing 🥲
Dang.. unlike in the US, I would go hog wild on Ikea food if I were in Singapore! Totally different ballgame, in a much better stadium 🤣
Well said!!
I love the US Ikea food, I literally go there every week.

The ”prawn plate” looks like what we call räkor here in Sweden, land of Ikea. And they are often just lightly boiled.
The IKEA food in Singapore looks better than what you get here😅
Would be thrilled if they brought over the steamed sticky rice package aka ”Laa Mai Kai” here😋
It's lor mai gai. In cantonese. Surprised mike chen didnt get it.
@@RonLarhz ya hahaha he read it in a english tone surprisingly.
Instämmer…. IKEA Menyn i Singapore är bättre och större sortiment än i Sverige.
We have lots of those shrimp in Sweden! Also ”gravad lax” was the salmon dish you were eating, usually not smoked (cold smoked, if anything) But dry brined in salt and dill mainly! Sometimes mustard seeds aswell. There are some amazing spots in Stockholm Sweden that do the dish justice, would love to see u visit! Gothenburg also has some great seafood (prawns main focus).
Used to love these saltwater shrimps from Sweden but they somehow disappeared even before COVID.
I may have lost the plot when he skipped the “hovmästarsås” 😅
@@tangt4860 For sure, so many good things all disappeared during the pandemic.
9 times out of ten I'm just sitting here at work, eating my chicken 🐔 and rice 🍚 😋, watching Mikey tear into something delicious. I could do this everyday 😄.
Why would you open the luo mai gai like that
Love watching you're videos they've helped me alot when I have anxiety always helped calm me down whenever I'm feeling overwhelmed or just over thinking so thank you so much Mikey for everything you do 😁❤
You should travel in Scandinavia and try some of their foods! ❤
Yes a whole series on IKEA world food tour.
Scandinavianfood and asian food have a lot in common! Both big on fish and pickled stuff.
@@greenzxne2356 Though the spice usage is on the complete opposite ends of the scale lol

as a Swede, its very fun to see swedish products and words just strewn around :)
Yes, actually the main swedish things I know of (and really like) are hygge and fikka (saw those on an ikea wall)
Hygge -> Warm and cosy
Fikka -> Afteroon break slow down enjoy the world
@@andrewng9950 Hygge will at least always have a sad notion as a chopped down forest can also be known as a Hygge, and Fika has one k :) but is indeed a very nice concept
Ja man blir sugen på köttbullar nu 😁
@@andrewng9950 Hygge is Danish not Swedish…..
@@thomasnoe2714 Hygge is also a Swedish word, as @itchythekitty stated. Hygge is an area where the forest have been chopped down to create an area of rejuvenation, to plant new trees and make the forest younger.
It’s lingonberry, not lingo-berry. Lol.
Loka Crush is sparkling water with added fruit juice to give it a little more and a very natural taste compared to other flavored sparking waters.
I like them a lot, specially the flavors watermelon, pear and raspberry.
Did anyone else cringe from the way he opened the law mai gei?! Savage!
It's all about the UMAMI! 😅
Scandanavian and Northern European countries do mushroom soup like no other. I would expect no less from an Ikea, even in Singapore. Best mushroom soup I've ever had was in Oslo, Norway. I made a Serious Eats recipe for it just a few weeks ago because I was chasing that monster. It was almost but not quite.
I think the tricks that have worked the most for me are using Vegeta and making a double strength dried mushroom stock with shaoxing wine (because that's all I had once and it was nicer) and using too much white pepper in it.
Honestly I think it's the vegeta doing all the heavy lifting that stuff is magic.
Hmmm I live in Oslo and mushroom soup isn't exactly standard cuisine here in Norway so not sure how you ended up with that impression.
@@scandisnowgirl3696 Try the little out of the way bar around the corner from the Grand Hotel in Oslo. We also had good renditions of it in Iceland and in Amsterdam. The Oslo version was spectacular.
@@scandisnowgirl3696 Of course it's not standard in Norway. "Scandinavian" mushrooms naturally grow in forests, which you have little of in Norway compared to Sweden. You have the entire Atlantic ocean though, which makes great seafood :)
@@fredosinsemilla3896 what? You think we have few forests in Norway? Ummmmm 🤣
I live 20 min from the factory who makes the meatballs... I can buy 2 kg for about 3 dollars ... I live in Sweden 😆
I like how each IKEA sells something different in their cafeteria. I have an IKEA near me, and I enjoy going in to eat breakfast or lunch from time to time. To me, the food is always good .
The pronunciation of the Singaporean dishes are getting increasingly spot on haha. looks like you've been coming here often
Thank you for constantly making Singapore known to the world.
10:20 That's basically same as Foppen Norwegian Smoked Salmon Slices (12oz) that you can get from Costco for ~$14.00 in US.
That's a new chellange: try not to say UMAMI for a full video 🤣
great video btw
why did you open the lo mai gai like that😂😭
That's not fair ! I come from sweden like IKEA and we don't have that kind of food here ! I think that IKEA restaurants here in sweden should have like a "international corner" in their swedish restaurants with a themeweek with food from their different restaurants in the world ! Especially singapore 😋 !
The Diam Cake you can buy frozen in some countries, we have it here in the UK and it is honestly one of my favourite desserts.
3:17-3:22 up until then I thought that sound was him chewing the meatballs. It's a rattle in the song lol
I don’t think Alexandra is the largest IKEA outlet in Singapore 😅 but it’s the closest to the city, so a lot of locals frequent it!
Try the Tampines’s outlet…n every festive season like Christmas, Chinese New Year etc, they’ll have specialty in their menu 😋👍enjoy 😅
Seeing mike eating briyani with a fork as an Asian hurts me. I can feel my ancestors crying.
I love IKEA chicken wings, they're big & taste so good also the ice cream/drink/hotdog combo is always a must get when going to IKEA
Never get the siew mai, those are just regular siew mai nothing special
The samosas are amazing
I thought you were at the IKEA on the edge of Frisco!
i loved the last ikea video, it’s so nice seeing you go back and get the cheese tart
The chocolate cake he is eating. I m glad i had that yesterday in my country . It was tasty tbh and very sweet too🫢
IKEA cakes and pastries are too sweet for my taste. The Swedish cookies sold in the IKEA market too. Is it because Swedes like then that way?
Mike, your hot oils are prohibitively expensive.
haha YESSS the IKEA in Singapore is pretty good. There's even a Halal section for our Muslin friends and the nasi lemak is good!
i work at IKEA in Sweden, all country has very different menus but all ofc have our staples like meatballs, the gravad lax and Daim cake etc. All fish at IKEA is MSC, The ecolabel shows that the fish is well managed, comes from viable stocks and that measures have been taken to reduce the impact on the marine environment.
I didn’t know where Mike was going with the mushroom soup 😅 shaking his head, face like he hates it
Finally the mushroom soup is getting the recognition it deserves!!! EASILY the best I’ve ever had
Merry Christmas and I love your Volgs channel ❤️🎄⛄
Mike, you should go to Tampines IKEA because the building is much more bigger than Alexandra IKEA also the eating place is bigger and many choices foods.
The dessert chefs at ikea in Singapore definitely need a raise…
I trust Mike when he says they are delicious but also in general they look really nice!!! 🤤
Those whole shrimp are a staple in Sweden. Extremely delicious.
Mike I saw you on mxrplays and I was like OMG and holy wha- how when did you reach 4 mil?!!!?! Congrats
Yum, love your channel Mike. I’m hungry right now but it’s late, so instead I’ll eat vicariously through you, lol. Like you always say, till we eat again. Thanks for stirring my food imagination. Bon appetite 🙏🏼❤️
"certain spices here" that's because you smeared your wing in your own hot oil. Surprised you didn't put hot oil in your sodas since you did on everything else.
Haha the chicken wings at IKEA Singapore are marinated with herbs and spices and also oyster sauce.. 🤤🤤
you should really come to sweden and try our foods!!
Hi the loka drink is from Sweden 😉
That slurp just makes noodles seem all the more delicious!
That pear crush soda you are drinking is Swedish! Sugar levels in most drinks are lower in Europe than in the US too, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's imported directly from Sweden.
I'll often go to my local IKEA in Wales just for the food things. Bag of frozen meatballs for home, the cookies/biscuits and a herbal soda which is sort of like cola but isn't - only available in winter though - miss it when I go rest of year.
I did not know Ikea anywhere having a food court until Mike's video the more you know o.o
Isn't the largest Ikea in Singapore located near Tampines and not Alexandra?
I think IKEA should start stocking your hot oil on the cafeteria tables...😂
“Give ‘em a raise, give ‘em some of your furniture..”😩🤣🤣❤️
Mikey thank you for your videos, you inspire me to possibly do this someday. I hope if I get big enough I can do a Collab with you 😊
Next time you come to Hawaii (Oahu) you should try Miki's. Its in Pearl City, they only open late night, like 8pm+, but they have famous Teri Meatballs! and dont forget the Pickled Onions side!!! ALOHA!
I work at IKEA in NewJersey. The food is pretty good 👍🏻
I've never been this early, I'm so proud.
You know when Jackie Chan packing on the pounds is him wearing the next size up in shirt. lol
The first place I ever tasted fishballs was in... Sweden. It's the Swedish-Asian nexus. 😁Then I ate a lot of them in Norway. Fiskeboller!
delicious, why can't Canadian Ikea have such a delicious food like Singapore or such
hello from canada
Try eating at Boon Lay Place Market and Food Village the pork satay, duck noodle not forgetting boonlay nasi lemak
Man..watching you eat makes me hungry again even if i already ate
I wish the chilli oil would be available for world wide shipping :)
Just move to Singapore already!
People are looking at you thinking how could it be possible for one person to eat a whole table of food :D
Let me guess umami …smfh and amazing smh
Wish your hot oil was shipped in Canada!!! My boyfriend would absolutely love the taste of them and it would make a great Christmas gift!!
Doesn´t look like smoked salmon. Looks like graved salmon. It is just cured with salt, sugar and dill.
It will forever amaze me how he can eat so much
Mike, I love the way you threw your chilli oil into this video 😂 there are so many different types of food in a Singapore IKEA 😬🥰 I would love to try. Did you say put gravy on a chicken biriyani?! It supposed to be dry, that's why it's usually served with a veg curry. Yummy. 😋 Thank you for sharing Mike 🥟
Hey Mike I think the Ikea in Tampines is the biggest
Alexandra largest ikea in singapore? i think tampines ikea is bigger but that's probably because its also their main warehouse
Always a great joy to watch this guy talking about food passionately :)
I love the soups at Ikea and the Swedish meatballs
That salmon is farmed in Norway destroying every inlet known to us
As an Indian, I cried at the sight of that sad biryani
I cried at the sight of a Well Done steak. I cried at the fact as a Swede living in the US I know that neither the US or Swedish IKEA outlets have the Food selektion of Ikea in Singapore. I have been to Singapore and one thing I admire is that Singapore makes such an effort to be inklusive. Indian Chinese Malay, Indonesian always represented.
Best music to theme the videos every time! Had to check the details on this one

Wishing ikea in Canada served those dishes. Lol. Looked yummy. Watching from Ontario Canada 🎉
Love the small prawns too. Sadly they don't have it all the time!
Your Loka Crush is actually swedish, just as your Almondy cake
I have Mr we eaten at an IKEA restaurant before. That food there in Singapore IKEA looks delicious
A true visual treat.
Ikea food is always comfort food. Delightful!
Never been to ikea so thanks for this one mikey❤🔥🔥🔥
Love the music in this episode 😸
I've been following your videos from when you first posted your chilli oil video years ago.
Crazy to know you were at the IKEA at the end of my street. 😂 Small world indeed.
33 secs lol perfect timing just sitting down for supper.
Mike training to reach Zermatt Neo's level in terms of amount of food eaten 😂
I just always remeber getting an ikea hotdog witch was amazing
Wish I was your travel buddy, all that fantastic food ya be chowing down on I want to try it all.
