Distant horn growing louder very quickly... all the sudden huge lights and a big blue CSX train comes rocketing out of the tress literally rumbling the earth. that is my overly dramatic view of a train going by :3
I've had so many nightmares in the past from the perspective of this camera, although I hadn't seen any videos like this before. I wonder if it's possible for a human to lie underneath any trains and survive?
Sadly enough, it depends heavily on what clothes you’re wearing, whether you lay facing the train, the cars being pulled, and the speed of the train. A train moving at this speed will turn a loose fitting shirt into a parachute and hook it. There is no shortage of cars with parts that hang down too low for ANY human body to escape. People tend to only think of a few car styles, or they only focus on the locomotive’s snow plow without realizing some of the cars have sensors hanging down, sometimes chains and hoses can hang down, and also debris like sticks, tree branches, and other god-knows-what that gets picked up along the way. People who survive under a train owe it most to pure random luck, and THAT specific train didn’t have the usual meat hooks hanging down between the tracks.
This is an excellent video. The train is going north. The speed is at least 70-75. It is a great place for this. It is so quiet that you can hear the motor’s during the lowering and raising of the crossing gates. If you play this at a slower speed, it almost sounds like something from a Pink Floyd tune. Almost surreal. 👍
If you imagine if you sleep on the train tracks and you wake up and you see Amtrak train and you see that metal bar in the train hits you with it you died
Actually it wasn’t even close. It was a Go Pro in a case and there was probably a foot and a half of clearance. The trick is to put it on the gravel bed not the tie. The tie flexes and shakes while the gravel does not move. I had a clamp on it and it attached to a 5 pound piece of steel so the air rush wouldn’t move it.
Imagine waking up and you just see this train speeding above you at full speed
