    If the Titanic had not hit the iceberg, it would not have become so famous, perhaps none of us would have even heard of it.

      Well... If she hadn't hit the Iceberg, she would most likely have a life like her sister Olympic, and maybe even surpassing her sister in fame for her actions during the war...

    Titanic wouldn't have been able to continue the voyage for long as there was pack ice not far ahead of them. The ship would've likely had to stop like the SS Californian had to.

    The important thing is that if Titanic survives, no lessons would have been learned. It would have taken another disaster for those to come into effect.

    Great video! One cool suggestion I have for a future topic: “What if Californian’s Radio was Still On?” In this alternate history, the RMS Californian’s wireless operator, Cyril Evans woke up at around 12:50 pm, by buzzing on the telegraph. He realized he forgot to turn off the Marconi machine. But just as he was about to go for the switch, he heard the Titanic’s distress call. Titanic had just contacted the Carpathia 20 minutes ago. Cyril fires back, “I’m telling my captain.” He responds to Captain Stanley Lord, realizing that the lights on the horizon must be Titanic. He summons the crew to get ready for a rescue mission. Titanic starts launching distress rockets, in an attempt to signal the Californian. Californian, aware of Titanic’s situation launches one back. This relieves Captain Smith on the bridge, as now they are both in contact and through wireless and signals with closest ship. But there’s a problem, Californian is surrounded by ice, and the engines have been shut down for the night, as the ship had been waiting until morning to clear the ice field. It will be insanely difficult for Captain Lord to navigate through this field, but it will take some time to get the engines restarted. It’s a process that can take nearly an hour. Cyril fires back: “MGY, we’re coming. But our engines are stopped. Stuck in ice. We are trying to restart as quick as possible. Will try to clear the ice as fast as possible. If we are able to reach full speed we will reach you in an hour minimum.” This message doesn’t sit well with Jack Phillips, Harold Bride, and Captain Smith, scared that not even the closest ship could arrive on time. They continue firing distress rockets. Phillips writes back, “Please hurry. Do whatever you can.” Cyril writes back, “We are doing everything in our power.” Cyril stops sending messages, in order not to jam the signal. With the Carpathia already racing at full speed, and the Californian now struggling to get restarted as fast as possible, who would get their first? Honestly, it’s a really cool video idea, and I don’t know what the likely scenario would be. Unfortunately, all evidence points that no matter what happens, even if Californian would reach the site of the Titanic’s sinking before Carpathia, they would still be too late. Lord would probably be watching in horror through binoculars as his ship sped on, as the Titanic took its final plunge sinking to the bottom of the sea. Californian and Carpathia would then be left to pick up the survivors. What do you think? Would Carpathia still arrive first?

      I love it! The only thing stopping me from doing this is that I’ll need to make a Californian model. I’ll look into it

      @@icemonster360Cool! I wonder what the scenario would be, and whether Carpathia would still arrive first! Titanic had also used Morse lamp, but Californian was unable to see it over the cold water mirage. It would be cool to see this scenario. But if you want to do it, just take your time when making the Californian model. But thank you for considering! If this becomes a real video that would be really cool!

      @@icemonster360 One other tip by the way if you're creating a model of the SS Californian, that while it has a very similar color design to Titanic and other ships (Black hull, red bottom, white upper decks), it's funnel looked very similar to Titanic's with the black top, except the color below was a very light shade of pink, #fcc9c8 or rgb(252, 201, 200), rather than the trademark White Star Line Honey Gold funnels.

      @@VilldoesOfficialThe US’s healthcare is insanely expensive. I’m talking tens of thousands of USD (1 USD ≈ 1.35 CAD) for mid-tier injuries. In Canada, it’s free, but (not trying to be rude) I think our healthcare is a bit more urgent than yours (this is coming from stories of patients waiting hours) Not only that, but school shootings happen daily as well as gang violence, police shootings, and other things involving guns. Luckily, I haven’t seen or been near any of those. The closest I got was a soft lockdown and police in the area due to a possibly armed escaped convict (yes, we have school lockdowns in case of shootings).

    I have an idea:
    Confident Murdoch does not turn all to starboard when the bow was avoiding the iceberg, exposing the stern of the Titanic to the iceberg and the Titanic hits the iceberg with the stern causing the same damage but worse the iceberg, with 5 flooded aft compartments flooded and the water reaching to the Titanic's electric generators and dynamos, causing a short circuit, leaving the Titanic in darkness causing panic among the passengers. How would the crew resolve this situation? How long would the Titanic take if it had hit the iceberg with its stern?

    • @blackjed
      @blackjed 3 месяца назад

      The aft section? Where the engines are? The giant 3 story tall engines and all other manner of heavy machinery? Not long. 1 hour maybe.
      Im not an engineer or anything but having the titanic hit the iceberg on the bow and the engines and machinery at midships and going back really helped it stay afloat and buoyant for as long as she did.
      Its why she broke where she did.

    • @beenbomb82
      @beenbomb82 2 месяца назад

      Titanic could only handle 2 aft conpartments flooding if the 5 and a tiny bit in a 6th damge been on her stern the power would go out. Meaning no pumps which grately slowed her sinking in our world she may have lasted 30 mins thats the best i give her with that damage

    If Titanic grazed that iceberg, they would've slowed the heck down or stopped completely for the night. When Titanic came upon the iceberg they were motoring on at 21 knots into an ICE field. If they grazed an iceberg and kept up at that speed, in that area, they would've hit another iceberg.
