All of Richard Elliott Friedman's books are worth reading. Stimulating and even exciting regardless of whether or not you groove to his conclusions. My studies were shaped by a classmate of his, Baruch Halpern who I bet would be a great interview on Biblical archeology and Dash Hammett. One of the first exercises Baruch gave us, was to separate the E and J narrative passages from the Noah story (a doublet) and re-edit it into something new. A great lesson in biblical redaction.
Not sure how many folks wrote it all down BUT the the apostle Paul was write when he wrote to Timothy through divine inspiration “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” 2 Timothy 3:16 King James Version (KJV)
No, don't be silly. A dove quietly flew into our office window with a scroll in its mouth. This scroll is said to have contained the official "only God-Ordained podcast" declaration (amongst other things we cannot disclose).
Nice that Friedman wants to be the Jewish version of The Venerable Archbishop Sheen... Because, seriously! The vestments are just decoration of his impressive preaching. But the most memorable quote of Archbishop Sheen is from one of his Christmas lectures: "...we have to realize that we can't pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps -- can't pull ourselves up by our own ears...". And despite that being contextually used in connection to the divide between humanity and the divine and the inability of humanity to reach salvation and the divine on its own, I couldn't help but be like: "Take that representatives of the pull-yourself-up-by-your-own-bootstraps myth!" because that saying originates from the working class, where it was used to describe an impossible task: "Try pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps!" (see in comparsion the Baron Munchhausen Tall Tale, where the titular character boasts that he pulled himself -- and his horse -- out of a swamp by his own hair.)

Thanks for mentioning the 'Return to torah' series. I'm listening right now!
You should discuss the Levite hypothesis with him

The Only God Ordained Podcast on the Internet ! How do prove that ? Did God speak to you ? Was there a burning bush involved ?
