Bro yes it’s made in China, it’s not as smooth though to zoom from 18-300mm but you’ll get used to it. Saves me time on switching between my 2 prime lens 35mm f/1.8 and 85mm f/1.8. Been using for more than a year now, and had given me tack sharp photos. Have a look at my website www.onesimusrileyphotography.com and click the link of my Flckr accnt there and under the group 18-300mm. All the best for you mate.
I came for the photos...I stayed for the music. On a serious note, it would be more helpful to show the aperture as well as the zoom. I’m interested in the depth of field.
Lol mate, yup the music is kinda engaging. Re the aperture yes that’s my initial plan but it ended up as minimalistic as possible so that the attention will just focus on the subject, but might consider including those with the upcoming videos.
@@OneRiley Kia Ora ! I am just watching this test and the sceneries looks suspiciously similar to ones in my phone and than Cape Reinga and i go wow! That must be from here and sure it is. My friend gave me her Nikon D5200 and as I had ages ago the D5100 and liked it for my big hands I am in a hunt for a nice telelens. This seems nice but quite pricy... I wonder if the sigma 18-300 or Tamron 18-270 would do the same job :) Cheers
@@andres.hammoe excerpt from Ken Rockwell Versus the old 18-300mm The original 18-300 VR is much bigger and heavier, and more expensive. I'd forget about it. This new lens is less expensive, smaller and lighter, while the old lens is a big heavy beast you'll not want to carry everywhere around your neck. HI, thanks for the review. This was very usefull. I have few queries, kindly respond. 1. Did you use tripod to take the pics ? Can we take handheld pics at 300mm with VR support or Tripod is a MUST, 2. does this lens work on D5200 Nikon?. Thanks
You’re welcome mate. Thanks for watching, to answer your questions: 1. All of them are handheld at 300mm, depends if it’s very windy but the VR seems to do the job well. If you’re gonna use it for photography, handheld at high shutter speed 1/400 above will work, maybe lower if you have steady hands. If you’re shooting video, yup tripod is a must. 2. I’m pretty sure it will work with D5200 without any issues at all. All the best
Hi mate, never experienced any of those "play" issues, everything seems fine even at the longest focal length of 300mm, just make sure VR is ON. This 18-300mm comes in 2 version, the 1st one with distance indicator and goes up to f/5.6 at 300mm and this one at f/6.3, which one is your copy? or if you're shooting video handheld, make sure that your hand is steady or at least on a tripod. All the best.
Sir ur both video of zooming test is very very very good sir... Ur video shows me perfect zoom at every mm point. I want a another zooming test video on nikon 200-500mm lens, pls sir i want to see that zoom and appreciate to buy right product for me.
Hi One Riley, Superb fantastic video. Both your video and photo captured of zooming test were very helpful and useful for my decision on purchasing this Nikon len. I just bought a used Nikon D5. I was searching for this len for my travel use and my product photo shot in my house. A very good nice example of what this AF-S DX Nikkor 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR len can do. I most probably be getting this lens for my holiday travel. Like and Subscribed to your Channel. Thank you.
Да, в этом плане выигрывают суперзумы с маленькими матрицами, увеличение значительно больше. У меня есть canon sx530, на увеличении 50x луна занимает больше половины фотографии.
deciding on the d5600 cam, but any chance you could do a comparison of the above vs the Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR? your side by side video (ruclips.net/video/QeWCEt2UPAQ/видео.html) is awsome man
For me this lens is not a good option, I bought it thinking that i will have not the best experience but it will be ok and for my trips should be the best option, but i have to say that i really hate it, no definition, the sky always appears white, big distorsion from 18-35mm, I have now it on my D7500 and im trying to sell it and go for the 18-200m
fermode what camera settings do you use? I usually use CPL filter for skies. Yup, generally all lens on it’s widest focal length has distortion which you can always correct in post-processing. I’ve used this lens for more than a year and had some great shots (see www.onesimusrileyphotography.com). But when i’ve upgraded my camera, i sold it. I’m currently using tokina 11-16mm, nikkor 16-80 f/2.8-4, nikkor 70-200 f/4, nikkor 85mm f/1.8. All the best for you mate.
Haha, I respect your opinion, but this video is not made to impress but to help, besides this is not a dedicated macro lens, which you should wait to be release if that’s what you’re after.
@@OneRiley I was coming to see the Nikkor 18-300 ZOOM lens. I guess that's what I saw. Well, what appeared to be a video of it. Hahaha. Thanks, anyway.
Best Video on 18-300 mm lence, clear visualization of results no nonsense talking and lecturing. Great job
Glad you like it mate. Thanks
This is a marvellous travel lens and I have used it for 3 years getting some great shots.
You’re absolutely right mate, this is my to-go travel lens as well. Portraits are pleasing especially when zoomed from 200-300mm.
I just recieved mine yesterday.... the quality seems a bit off to me... is yours made in China?

Thank you for this video, I have the same camera body and just got this zoom lens. Looking forward to testing it out on the local beach.
It’s a good one, all the best
Is this lens compatible with D5600?
Grazie ,video perfetto per tutti coloro che intendono acquistare l'obiettivo.
Can you compare this with Tamron 400 mm ...in lens 18 - 400 mm category
0:49 shows distortion at 18mm and little dark at the corner.
Excelente video, ayuda mucho!!
De nada
I have read in few posts that the clarity of this lens doesn't match with the kit lens 70-300mm. Is that true ??
Will it fit on Nikon Z - 50?
You’ll need an FTZ adapter for that matter bro.
@@OneRiley Thanks
You’re very much welcome Joe. All the best
The best lens test on YT.
Thank you
I saw the focusing struggling in the max zoom in the beginning.
Is the rotating ring smooth enough while zooming?
Hope to have low light test.

Hola. excelente video.
Que lente me recomendarías en cuanto a calidad de imagen. El 55-200, 70-300 o 18-300
Yo tengo una d5500

70-300 is the sharpest, but if you want convenience, the 18-300mm is the way to go. 😀

It will mate, it’s an AF-S lens so it has silent wave motor inside the lens.
