$$$$ Boston area is so expensive!! I'll stay slightly in the country and pay 1680 for the mortgage and taxes on my single family home that is 1800 square feet, two free garage spots included! Screw apartment living in the city, between the high cost and noise, there is nothing better than sitting on my deck looking out at the acres of conservation land and listening to the birds chirp and the rustle of all the little chipmunks and squirrels. You do you girl, but I could not live like that, traffic noise and tiny spaces... Enjoy your new place!!
Oh my…….i feel for you! I am facing the same…..moving from my three bedroom, three bath house with finished basement to a condo apartment! It has one washroom, Master and small second bedroom. I know it will look like yours once I move furniture and a mass of boxes into it. I’m terrified! I feel anxious every day snd I’m not moving until next summer. The condo is under construction and I have to sell my house next Spring. I need to move close to my daughter because of my age, impending health issues and desire to see my grand kiddies. It’s a must do but it hurts. So much in the way of purging and give always. So many attached memories and money spent! Young people don’t collect anymore………a smart decision. Good luck!
I can't believe how much an apartment is now. When I saw South Shore of Boston I had to watch. I'm in Whitman. Hope all works out great for you in your new home.
What a wonderful new place! We are on the North Shore and prices seem higher. The housing market is ridiculous right now. Glad you found a place you love!
Beautiful place in a nice area. I lived in Malden decades ago. I was living in a house that was converted to four tiny tiny itty bitty little one person apartments. I guess a studio would be the proper name. I was paying 525 a month which was high at that time. It was a very old house, and my apartment was in the back on the first floor. It was a room, a tiny bathroom and a kitchen you only used to cook and store food in and a sink. The kitchen had zero room for even a chair. It was the size of a small hallway with the little fridge, stove and oven and sink along the wall. The windows were like basement windows, they were small and high up so I couldn't really see outside...except the kitchen had one window I could see the next-door place. I had one parking space which was worth the price of the rent in and of itself. It was a walking distance to the orange line...I believe it was the orange line. That train could take me straight into Boston or connect to the airport. I think I was there for two years before I moved to Florida like your friend.
I love the new apartment but its overcrowded with all your things. At this point the rule of thumb is to declutter and let some things go. If you can't let these things go then consider getting a storage unit to house these items.
If you are looking for something much less expensive, you should try places like Malden, Everett, Revere, & Lynn. If you want to go further north, try the Hampton Beach area.
I lived in Boston in the 1970's through the 90's and never paid more than $500 a month for a one bedroom apartment. The prices now are absolutely insane. I'm in Little Rock now and a one bedroom equivalent to the ones you saw are about $1300 here.
@2:42, that looks really pretty and a nice place to live. It also reminds of places in England where I live. Congratulations on your new flat even if there is a mountain of organisation still to be done.
You people who say "just buy a house" do you know how ignorant that sounds houses in Greater Boston median price $900K down payment property taxes fees maintenance that's like saying all you single women just go find a man or unemployed people just go get a job stop the rude comments we all need a place to live without bullets flying overhead or rats in the walls.
She works from home, she could go way out of Boston and buy a reasonably priced house! I am a single woman and have own my own house for the past 8 years, I do as much of the stuff as I can as far as maintenance and pay for someone to do the more complicated stuff! I pay 1680 a month for a single family home with two car garage and that includes taxes! These tiny apartments are such a rip off, BUT I know some people like the city, so different strokes for different folks!
I feel it .. moved out 4 months ago, divorcing, and to stay by the two teens I grabbed an Avens 1k sq. ft. for $3100 a month .. but I'm by the Dedham Corp. train station and can walk to Legacy Place .. (shrugs) ..
that’s what i pay 2700 plus i’m in Peabody ma off of 114 half is danvers ma and half in Peabody! We have a pool gym basketball courts etc i have a 1 bedroom 1 bath with a loft ! not even close to enough storage ! no pantry it’s a galley kitchen everything is brand new but That’s the prices in the North Shore! it has a washer and dryer dishwasher etc all the good stuff
I can’t believe those rents, you must make big money. If you work from home why do you limit yourself to south shore. I live in southeastern mass and you could save 1000.00 a month by moving further away from those towns.
What I don’t like is surface parking and it is a low rise building. I live in Toronto Canada. And city apartments new are 20floors plus. It is so much quieter.
You should have purged your things while packing to move. Declutter, you have too much stuff. Ollie likes his spot because it's the only spot there is.
You should downsize the furniture. It is way too cluttered. I live in NYC in a studio (I know how to separate areas and use smaller furniture to do it. I would feel claustrophobic in your big apartment:)😱
@INFJWoman I lived in SW MO from 01 to 06. My rent was 450.00! A 3 bdrm duplex with a fenced in yard, laundry room and 2 bathrooms. Moved back to Mass and it's outrageous here!
If you can afford that kind of rent for an apartment, why wouldn’t you buy a condo? Your mortgage will be less and you’d be investing in your future. You’re throwing an insane amount of money away. 🤷🏼♀️
I agree. There's a couple of reasons though: condos around here are at least $500K - getting into $600k if you want more than one bedroom, down payments are excruciating, interest rates have been 7%.
I know rents are insane!!! Maybe change the sofa out for something smaller, yours is swallowing the room. Otherwise it’s a nice apartment and it’s only you. Just do as much decluttering as you can, you’ll make it work.
Your rent isn’t much more in Massachusetts than a lot of us here in Arizona are paying. Only difference is yours actually seems to be worth it. I’m paying close to $2,000 for a 2 bedroom that’s about the same size as the ones you showed. If you go a little further east of us then you’re looking at twice the cost.
I wouldn't need such a large place for myself. And I wouldn't want to have someone living over me. I grew up outside of Boston and would love to live in my hometown again but I couldn't even afford the crappiest apartment there.
I know boss is expensive. I’ve lived in Massachusetts in my whole life I live in Worcester Massachusetts. I own my own home for over 20 years. My mortgage is only $1000😊 in answer to your question. Heck, no I wouldn’t spend that much money.
I can’t believe how expensive renting is.I am grateful I own a house that is paid in full otherwise I’m afraid I could not afford prices like that being newly retired. Out of curiosity what kind of work do you do with all those computer screens
I've lived in my all of my 55 years, the last 13 just outside the Dedham line. I want to move but no way we can afford the rent jump. We waiting on disabled housing, thankfully it's an option. I feel everyone being price out, it stinks.
Wow what is all of that “stuff?” Maybe you can hire a cleaner/organizer in the mean time I would declutter. With just you if you downsize it will be easier to keep clean.
Wow, way back in 1993 I paid $750 a month for a top floor bedroom in the Back Bay Fens with an old school old caged elevator. Yeah, it was 550sq ft with no parking or any amenities, but the apartment was decent and I could see the Pru. I offered 65k to the bank that was foreclosing on the owner who lived in Cali and the bank did not accept the offer!! That place would be $$$$ now.
How often do you have to commute? The drive to the north shore is a killer. I live near Union Point. An hour from my house to the south station tunnel on a Thursday morning after 10 am. As for rents, yup, that’s what it is now. If you plan to stay in the area, I would live on the cheap and save towards a condo or house. You are throwing your money away.
Yes! I do need to downsize!! I didn't realize I had so much stuff. It looks a lot worse when it's all just everywhere, but I do need to get rid of some things.
Have you considered renting a tiny studio apartment and saving the money? Rent is wasted money beyond a roof over your head. Save for yourself rather than making landlords rich.
It depends. For some people $2700 is nothing for them if they earn$25,000 per month. At my age it’s impossible for me to pay that amount of rent. The second apartment is large and quite expensive. We don’t know if you’re able to pay. The old apartment was very big, now I cannot make a decision that it’s really your’s , however, judging from what you said that you previously lived around, I think you’re going to choose the first one.🏚️

You should check out the north shore, I am from the south shore and and have been north since 2012 and I love it!
I don’t think I would have moved. I would’ve done a side hustle and kept all the natural light and extra space for my happiness
I love the new apartment but its overcrowded with all your things. At this point the rule of thumb is to declutter and let some things go. If you can't let these things go then consider getting a storage unit to house these items.
It's a lot better with everything organized. Definitely going to get rid of some things though too.
If you are looking for something much less expensive, you should try places like Malden, Everett, Revere, & Lynn. If you want to go further north, try the Hampton Beach area.
Wow! You’ve are so creative in the layout. Good luck AND have fun settling in to your new home.
Thank you so much!

Good video, very helpful. Thanks for including the prices. Good luck!
Thank you!

I am so glad I live in Philadelphia!!

It's crazy expensive in Mass! I love the North Shore! I was just in Gloucester a couple of months ago. It's so beautiful there.
@@INFJWoman hi it’s beautiful there but they have a huge drug problem up there going on! I grew up born and raised in Salem MA !
I'm renting a 2 bedroom on the South Shore and paying rent makes me sick, but also nearly impossible to buy. If you can find a condo the HOA is crazy.
I can’t believe those rents, you must make big money. If you work from home why do you limit yourself to south shore. I live in southeastern mass and you could save 1000.00 a month by moving further away from those towns.
Yes you mist make big money for thede types of rents. Wow!
What I don’t like is surface parking and it is a low rise building. I live in Toronto Canada. And city apartments new are 20floors plus. It is so much quieter.

My mortgage is $763. - but I'm an hour south of Boston.
You’re extremely lucky!
They do have parking. It’s under the building, directly across from the T station. 😊
You should be careful telling and showing people where you live, lots of crazy people out there.
Nope, our first apt in the Philly suburbs back in 1985 was $450, 2 bds/1 bath. I’m blown away by the rents today 😮
My first apartment in Missouri in 2006 was $600 per month. I miss that!!
@INFJWoman I lived in SW MO from 01 to 06. My rent was 450.00! A 3 bdrm duplex with a fenced in yard, laundry room and 2 bathrooms. Moved back to Mass and it's outrageous here!
Great content! carry on

Those remt prices are unbelivable. No way would I pay that mich,.....even if I could. Crazy prices.
The constant sound of the traffic outside would not be for me, but it looks like a nice apartment. Prices are crazy nowadays.
I know rents are insane!!! Maybe change the sofa out for something smaller, yours is swallowing the room. Otherwise it’s a nice apartment and it’s only you. Just do as much decluttering as you can, you’ll make it work.

Gloucester is a great place to live and they have a commuter train.
I grew up in South Weymouth in the Greentree Lane apartments!
I love this area! It's really nice now.
That is reasonable compared to some that I have seen for three thousand
Massachusetts has become incredibly expensive. I would never pay that for such a small place. It’s nice but too small for all your belongings. ❤❤❤❤❤
How much do you pay for the apartment that you're moving out of. Is it more than all the other apartments.
Hi from Weymouth! How crazy! 😅
The price is not bad on the first one
I know boss is expensive. I’ve lived in Massachusetts in my whole life I live in Worcester Massachusetts. I own my own home for over 20 years. My mortgage is only $1000😊 in answer to your question. Heck, no I wouldn’t spend that much money.
You're so lucky to have a mortgage for $1,000 a month! I hope I can buy a house soon!
@@INFJWoman don’t forget my house is 21 years old. I am blessed that I can still have it after my husband died. I will pray that you get a house.
I would NOT pay that to live in Boston. I hate even driving to or thru Boston.
If you work from home you can write your office space off in taxea.
Im in Plymouth. Rents are ridiculous. 2k, 3k...crazy!
I almost moved to Plymouth, down by Pinehills. I don't know that I'd want to deal with traffic on Route 3 all summer though.
@@INFJWoman the traffic on route 3 south is crazy!
Excuse me for asking but those rents are equivalent to a mortgage payment; wouldn’t you be better off owning a place instead of renting?
Maybe she doesn’t have enough $ for a down payment
I can’t believe how expensive renting is.I am grateful I own a house that is paid in full otherwise I’m afraid I could not afford prices like that being newly retired. Out of curiosity what kind of work do you do with all those computer screens
Great video I live in HONOLULU prices are crazy
Yes they are! Honolulu is so beautiful!! I was there in 2010. I loved it.
Did you move across the hall?
It is cheaper to rent than to buy now.
I've lived in my all of my 55 years, the last 13 just outside the Dedham line. I want to move but no way we can afford the rent jump. We waiting on disabled housing, thankfully it's an option. I feel everyone being price out, it stinks.
Thanks for including maps
Get rid of half your stuff. Live frugally. Save for a condo or small house.
Nice new apartment
Thank you 😊
Super cute apartment, but the price is astronomical 😢
The rent is crazy expensive for all three apartments. A mortgage would be cheaper. Perhaps you should consider buying....
Those highrise blocks with all the fancy amenities that you will never use are why rents are so high.
Why didn't you stay at your old apartment?
It was too expensive for me to stay there by myself. My niece had been splitting the rent with me, but she moved to FL.
Wow what is all of that “stuff?” Maybe you can hire a cleaner/organizer in the mean time I would declutter. With just you if you downsize it will be easier to keep clean.

$2700 a month to live in Weymouth? I left Boston ten years ago and can't believe how expensive it's become!
It's crazy! There's new apartments going up everywhere now too, in almost every open lot around here.
Where did you move to?
How often do you have to commute? The drive to the north shore is a killer. I live near Union Point. An hour from my house to the south station tunnel on a Thursday morning after 10 am. Time to downsize your STUFF ! YIKES ! One person does not need all that (forgive me) CRAP ! Very nice apartment , enjoy the journey
Yes! I do need to downsize!! I didn't realize I had so much stuff. It looks a lot worse when it's all just everywhere, but I do need to get rid of some things.
No would not pat that, but i know thats what rents are now.
One side of Weymouth Landing is Weymouth. The other side is Braintree. Going a few miles south on Rte 53 is Hingham.
Its sad people has to pay alot for a place to live anymore rent should not be that high
If you have $3K/month to spend on housing, why not buy a condo?
Have you considered renting a tiny studio apartment and saving the money? Rent is wasted money beyond a roof over your head. Save for yourself rather than making landlords rich.
I've lived in a studio apartment for years. I spent 2020 in a 200 sq ft place. It wasn't worth the small amount of money I saved.
That's my entire salary
It's a lot!
$$$$ 2700.00 PER MONTH ?? YOU coould buy a house for that much. What type of work fo you do?
$100 for parking and there’s no garage
All these shelves and what goes on them have to go. Way too much stuff.
What is INFJ
It's a personality test that tells you your traits. I means she's an introvert. J means judgmental. I'm not sure why she's including that.
Buy a condo.
Get rid of the couch -- it is ugly:)
Jesus. Don’t like street views
Crazy prices, you seem very out of breath, that is scary.. have you had a test?
I have severe asthma that's hard to control. Everything triggers it.
That’s what I thought .. just wanted to let you know to have it checked .. I wish you healing and good health!!
No wouldn't pay that.
You have way too much crap 😂
