Wow! Great video and your working on a Nissan mini! My project truck is a 78' Ford Courier-mini. Total revamp of the interior, wiring and later a 302. Thanks for this great video!
You can wrap anything vinyl is just like paint it shows everything. We use superglue it's your best friend in upholstery. Never pay try first. Then one day you mastered it.
I have two rolls of Grey vinyl and black vinyl and here I am wanting to do my truck and camouflage it'd be easier for me to make it look like the work truck. Lol
Great video man, thank you for sharing. I think I’m going to try this for my 66 chevelle. How did you secure the console to the floor pans? Just some bolts, nuts and washers?
In this case it pressure fit between dash and rear audio box so there were no need for bolts. But wouldn't be hard to add some metal straps to the under side to bolt it to the floor.
I didn’t realize there was such a thing as 4 way stretch. So I’d essentially be able to wrap the sides of a console as you did here but without any seams visible on the corners? I’d love to do something similar in my 93 isuzu mini to what you did here. Thanks for taking the time bro your videos are bangin
I watch my buddy he is vinyl master heat gun or blow dryer. Heat ends and stretch it over back staple or just glue. Quarter inch foam. Or make side panels with piping is vinyl wrapped in tiny string like tube. Slower you go better out come in upholstery. Drill holes in wood put plastic plugs like door panels have hide your work.
Dude i hope you are wearing a double chamber filter and have ventelation going when you are cutting that mdf, your lungs sound shot and ive worked with mdf, it creates super tiny particles, its horrible stuff, also i would have used plyeood personally and built it higher by the seat at elbow level for driving comfort 🙂
I based my truck center console on your except I made an arm rest/storage. I also like how it looked with the raw medal with the holder and switches. my question is the angled piece I guess for gauges....how did you curve the base?
Great job bro, very informative and simple the way you explain the process, subscribed, I enjoy your how to videos. I just rebuilt a GMC Sonoma that I got at a steal, and am getting beat ideas from your videos.
Hey man, I'm a big truck fan and was curious when I saw the name of your channel. It appears that you aren't in pavement disposal or recycling which would be scrapping pavement. It looks like you build lowered vehicles that scrape the pavement but scraping has only one p. Is there an aspect of what you do that I missed that explains this? Like Vise-Grip Garage purposefully misspells vise with a c because vise-grip is a trademarked name.
Lol, yep I got 2 channels ScrapingPavement for shows, features, and shop tours. And this one ScrappingPavement for builds and howtos. Also gets people to comment😜
Really Great video!!!! I have 94' Z28 1LE Camaro with just 30,000 miles on it. Great car but a few issues 2 cracks on the dash panel & the console is in great condition but I just can't stand the one cup holder & it doesn't even hold a cup good at all! I've been contemplating on making a console for a while now & I like how you did this one! How much did you invest in it? I went ahead & subscribed & hope you have any tips for me. I also thinking about doing a carbon fiber dash. Would you have any tips on that? Thanks! I really appreciate it! Mike
Excelente.... lo único que no observe fue que no le dejaste una tapa posterior ni algun otro compartimiento para guardar cosas. En general muy bueno el video.
Spend the money and do it right and you won’t have any problems. My trucks been bagged almost 10 years and never had a leak or issue. Very expensive but well worth it.
I personally have never seen 4 way vinyl at craft stores only 2 way. To get ahold of 4 way stretch you need to order online or go to an actual upholstery store. Just note 4 way is more money.
This one fits snug right there no bolts, itbetween the seats and inbetween the dash and subs in back. Wouldn't be Hard to add a cross support if you wanted to bolt it to the floor.
It's a 240 adapter was too short to run horn so I did a horn delete. It's a bit close I would bump the wiper and blinker when I first got it but got used to it and can turn no problem. But if you want to run the horn button you will need to space it out about an inch.
You said industrial look and proceeded with the metal top. Why use metal if you are just going to wrap it in vinyl? Full MDF would be much easier and simpler.
I got what you are saying..i have access to a plasma table so it was easier for me to whip that up on some metal. Although...im going to be recreating the console out of sheet metal and won't be wrapping it.
i like your style,we use the same adhesive spray too,one time a guy tried to get me to buy that gorilla shit and i was like noooo thanks, haha and i like how your all about the easy and budget diy friendly style man, thats me.i build lots of stereo stuff,i bought a 2005 chevy blazer 2 door and it was a mess,i took all the carpet out bought new and i need to make a console, since im going with a huge stereo system i will be going light weight with my console to save some weight, and its a 5 speed which was hard as hell to find, and also i want it to be really low profile especially up front so it doesnt interfere with the imaging from my stereo allignment fiberglass 8'' mid bass in doors and a pillars, just trying to have fun in this fucked off world we now live in,need to make a place to rest my pistol while driving around here in tx fucking ghetto apes might try to get close to me or something hahaha pow..later dude
It turned out real awesome. If you ever sell any center consoles already built in like this one, I’ll take one for sure!! 👍🏼
That's great a mini truck, my high school parking lot had more than few back in the early 90's. Someone has to bring them back... Full Circle!
You never know, we just now circled back to big block trucks. Theres a new ford f150 lightning
They've been back, where you been? Here in Oregon we have multiple shows every year 👍

No its got a bed, just a weird angle. Thanks.

Can't recall place maybe amazon.. but it's an nrg wood grain, with s13 adapter, and I made a custom horn delete with the nissan logo.

Nice made
Quick question, the 4 way stretch viynl, is that just a craft store thing to try and find like a Michaels or Hobby Lobby ?
I personally have never seen 4 way vinyl at craft stores only 2 way. To get ahold of 4 way stretch you need to order online or go to an actual upholstery store. Just note 4 way is more money.
scrappingpavement thanks for the help
Dam i really want one
NICE!!!
but.. how does this bolt onto the truck? does it just lay there unbolted?
This one fits snug right there no bolts, itbetween the seats and inbetween the dash and subs in back. Wouldn't be Hard to add a cross support if you wanted to bolt it to the floor.
What kind of steering wheel do you have? I really want one just like that.
It is a nrg wheel with a custom horn delete plate I made.
Hey is that a short hub on steering wheel do you have room or it is right around signal and wiper lever thanks
It's a 240 adapter was too short to run horn so I did a horn delete. It's a bit close I would bump the wiper and blinker when I first got it but got used to it and can turn no problem. But if you want to run the horn button you will need to space it out about an inch.
