Admittedly this is the first time ever I have ventured out on a Sunday to go and film trains (Let alone travel on one on a weekend). But anyway I find myself in Oxford still relatively tired from the previous day (COMING SOON!)
but today was rather special, to say the least. Class 52 Western D1015 'Western Champion' ventures out on the first railtour in years and it is the first time I have ever seen this loco let alone filmed it.
We start in Oxford just before noon to observe the regular traffic before the western storms through on a light loco movement into London Paddington to hook up for the tour.
After a long period of break within Oxford itself (For lunch and other bits) we return to Oxford once again observing the regular traffic before the Western storms again sound beautiful taking a rake of 13 coaches and a dead 57 on the rear (Which would be used later in the tour)
Overall, it went pretty well as expected and it was a little side bonus really for this half term and was pretty happy with the result.
    Hope you enjoy it ;)
    Pathing was as follows:
0Z55 10:20 Kidderminster SVR to London Paddington (Via Cotswolds)
1Z56 13:52 London Paddington to Birmingham New Street

The westerns had so much character , just caught the last few in service, unfortunately saw most of them withdrawn in Swindon works waiting to be cut up !!
