Absolutely amazing demo. I really appreciate the way you broke it down by genre and then thoroughly demonstrated how the tone changes through the loops segment.
Excellent Demo. Thank You! You've convinced me to grab the Zeus. I already have the TC Cinders which is an outstanding Blues Driver clone at phenomenal price.
Thanks a lot, really glad you enjoyed it! The Zeus is a wonderful pedal and extremely versatile... you can do a lot more with it than I initially thought!
Glad you enjoyed the sounds! Yes, this is a great little pedal, and you can use it for so many different music types too... definitely give one a try if you get the chance :) Cheers!
I really appreciate the scientific approach to your comparisons and demos, it must take an age to put together a 30 minute video. Much respect. I'd love to hear your assessment of the Demonfx K centaur - that's a "loose change" budget sort of pedal.
Thanks a lot Michael! Yep, it does take a good few hours to do these vids, but they're fun for me to make as well, so I plan to carry on! Aha, I've heard about Demonfx before, but never seen one in the flesh. Will add their Centaur to my shortlist to try for next time :)
Sounds good! Fat switch is good for sc pick ups! TC = Behringer. Makes for a good range! I have an old TC Harmony Singer but I think it is a pre Behringer 1! Does GREAT harmonies! \m/
We all need a FAT switch in our life! Actually, I could use a thin switch too, but you know what I mean. Yeah, the old TC Helicon Harmony Singers would be pre-Behringer. I used to love playing around with those at trade shows :) I should probably pick one up at some point. Are the new ones worse quality build-wise?
@@RichWordsMusic Mmm we all LOVE getting a fat now & then! ;oP Re the New TC Helicon harmony pedals, made by Behringer, I have NO idea Rick! The 1 I have is an original Helicon, designed in Canada, (eh?) & built in Thailand! I have NO reason to believe the build quality should be any less now they are made in China by Behringer! ARE they any cheaper? I think you can still pick up original 1s, on the used market, (like I did) pretty reasonably! I think I only paid like $130A for mine a few years ago!
The second option of the fat Switch gives the Zeus an advantage over the Soulfood. As i understand, the klon style overdrives are quite sensitive to sizzling power supplies. The Soulfood has a battery compartment, to avoid any power issues. The Zeus doesn't have an battery compartment and it's price in Germany has now risen to 75€. Now i wonder whether the Nux Horseman is any good compared to the Zeus and the Soulfood?
Yes, the Fat switch certainly gives you some added versatility, and I also find it useful depending on the pickups in the guitar I'm using. I think the more modern Klon pedals are less picky when it comes to power. I personally only use batteries if I have to these days. The Horseman is an excellent pedal, and also has the added option of standard and 'Silver' Klon modes... I plan to acquire another Klon type pedal from somewhere (any suggestions?) and then I will do a 4-way comparison video :)
@@RichWordsMusic I only know the Mosky Golden Horse. (That is quite sensitive to power issues). Tone City has got the Bad Horse, but it don't know whether that could be the same circuit as the NUX.
I wonder why TC is not converting their other pedals (smorgasboard series) to this format. Just rehouse all Behringer pedals to this format and be done. EDIT: For budget comparisons: Joyo Tauren, Caline Pegasus, Caline Medusa
I reckon they'll get round to it at some point. It would certainly be the logical thing to do! Cheers for the comparison tips - must look all of those out :)
Well, they're obviously built around the same basic circuit and are very similar. As you hear in the loop, you can make them sound identical in many settings, but I don't think they're 100% identical. In a mix you'd never hear the difference, of course ;) And of course the Zeus has the added FAT switch! This is a really cool little feature and I think gives the Zeus the slight edge when it comes to versatility...
Unfortunately it is a soft switch. And its behaviour is pretty weird since it's turning off the moment you release the button, not when you push it down

Thanks for watching as ever my friend, and Merry Christmas to you!
Anyone successfully replaced the footswitch to a normal one?
Would also be interested to hear if anyone's done this...
