Happy New Year Anna, 2020 vision. This is what I told my wheel chair bound friend who only thought as himself as a burden to all others. I put him on a pedestal to make him believe himself. He found a beautiful partner and they now have a 2 year old child together. They found each other at a sport he and I have shared for many years.

Might I also add that being comfortable with your disability is so important. Self image is a major key that we over look once you find your purpose and confidence things just fall into place.
It’s also important to know that most people won’t understand your disability or are just afraid to ask questions and it’s always important to educate people in a healthy way and stand up for yourself. Thank you for not forgetting about individuals with disability’s
    God bless,

Since my last one, I haven't been trying. Can't really offer any other tips for you though. I have always been independent and I will never change that. If I need help I will ask or if it's offered and I need it, I will accept it. I live alone and do everything on my own. i watched this because i have a neighbor who was seriously injured in a car crash. she was a pedestrian, and she is still overcome by grief - 5 years later. she just can't seem to move forward with life. she's only 37, and very bitter about this.
she's not in a chair, but it is real hard for her to get around. i've wondered if it might be she feels no one will love her again. i try to comfort her and hug her, to no avail. i wish i could be more helpful. i deliberately do not feed this negativity, nor do i offer any form of pity.
i don't go out of my way to see her, but just try to let her know that she is lovable the way she is when i do see her. we met when i rode past her house on my mountain bike, and she called out to me wanting to check out the bike - and maybe me too. thing is i'm 57 and she's 37, and even if that were not a factor, i think there might not be room in her heart for anyone but her daughter and her grief, both of whom live with her, rent free.

Sometimes, people learn to identify with their sad stories because it feels familiar and safe. You can only do what you can do, but you can't rescue her. That's her job. She may not find it in this lifetime. But continue to be kind and don't wait for her to change. If you have social media, share this video if you think it will indirectly help her or someone else. You're a good man! Happy New Year! :)

@@YourWingmam happy new year to you too, and it was very kind of you to respond and offer your thoughts. i appreciate that, and agree with what you said.
this is the reason i don't push on this or even knock on her door. if i see her out, i stop and say hello and visit for a while, but otherwise i respect her sovereignty, and never offer advice. ever. unless it is asked for, which it hasn't.
i've not decided what i'll do if she comes to my door, though, but that's very unlikely.

Anna Maria I am all for you encouraging those in wheelchairs to seek love. Some do find happiness and that is a wonderful thing. My experience concerns my beloved nephew, who was injured in a accident in 2009 when he was 46. After rehabbing at the Shepard Center in Atlanta, a wonderful place of healing, he moved back to his home town in 2011 and came across a classmate who was divorced as was he (twice). They married, and we were thrilled. It lasted a little more than two years, she came to the realization that she couldn’t handle a spouse in a wheelchair, put him in a nursing home, and filed for divorce. He went back to the Shepard Center and eventually found a home with some young friends he had made previously. They were wonderful people. This was now late 2014. We were very close, spoke at least once a week or more. I had no idea he was spiraling into depression. On November 7, 2017 he ended his life. I have not and probably never will get over it.
I am sorry for telling such a sad tale my word to those contemplating such a relationship is to be realistic about expectations and don’t get into a situation you are not able to handle.

    • @YourWingmam
      @YourWingmam  4 года назад +4

How terribly sad for your family. I absolutely agree that it is vitally important to choose a mate well, don't rush into a relationship, don't make it your everything, *do not get married without a prenup* , and to make sure your life revolves around you and not her -- not that a couple can't and shouldn't become a team, but that takes time, a lot of time and we would do best always being sure of ourselves in our own world first, because we never choose well when we are desperate and lonely. Thank you for sharing that story, I hope others will learn from it. Also, a reminder to reach out to those we love, especially when we haven't heard from them. Depressed people rarely reach out. *We are not responsible for the choices they make* but we can do our part to help them feel loved and important. :)

I wanted to say I think your vids are pretty spot on and are well spoken. I also wanted to provide a bit of insight as why so many men seem to comment negative-sounding things.
I understand you are a dating coach and what your services are. Due to the demographic, you will be speaking with mostly men. Men who've been through the ringer of divorce, losing children to exes who simply traveled across the city/state/country/world with no repercussions, etc. and I think the men who comment negative sounding things are really trying to communicate to you the ultimate reality of what men have to go through.
Unlike women, men have to continuously put everything on the line for a woman. Men must give up literally everything they've worked for at the chance a woman will take him seriously (a man who is truly looking for a decent woman and/or wife. A man who's strictly "pumping-and-dumping" will not do this and these are the men women impulsively go for in most cases). I think one major question the men want to communicate to you is, "What is it a woman ultimately 'loses' or invests in an exchange with a man?"
I think it's basic nature- women want men who are successful for offspring, blah, blah, blah. I don't think it's a bad thing at all. I think what messed it all up was women wanting to become men with all the benefits of a woman along with pampering from the government if a woman makes any "mistake" ("pampering" being relative, meaning they won't drive a Maserati, but they will be taken care of by the state. Men do not get this same treatment). This did nothing but turn the US into a free bed-and-breakfast/brothel for American women and when the rides up? Find some beaten down chump to marry who doesn't know what just happened.
Lastly, I think what all the men are really looking for in the comment section who aren't beta orbiters for you is this- for you to give a legitimate response to the question, "Why is a woman worth it?" I think the men here truly want a decent woman but have lost hope (as they should. I just completely gave up on American women and moved to Europe. If I even hear of an American woman coming somewhere I'll be I just leave.).
Personally, I was lucky in life to be able to mentally switch from a "Tyronne" to a "husband" (I have tattoo's, 8 pack abs, big dick, travel, etc and also have 4 college degree's) and I've just been part of too many situations to genuinely take a woman in as my "girlfriend" or take seriously. I have countless stories on how women have men wrapped around their finger from the start and I was completely on both sides of it.
I think the men are looking for an answer, but the reality is everyone already knows what the answer is but nobody wants to have the true courage to ultimately accept it and move on from both men and women's side.
Again, I'd love to hear from a woman to answer the question, "Why a woman is worth it". This is the ultimate answer everyone is looking for.

I agree. I have seen, on multiple occasions, girls choose guys in wheelchairs over ambulatory guys. Actually, on a couple occasions, I have been brutally shot down by women who ultimately chose guys in wheelchairs. Keep your heads up fellas. I get rejected at least 500 times before I even can get her number. Most of them ghost me, but eventually someone goes out on a date with me. Here is the thing, I am badly deformed from obesity, and still get a date every couple years.

Thank you for your encouraging comment! By the way, my mom was a slim, stunning woman and my dad was obese, uneducated, no wealthy, and not attractive by society standards but he had confidence up the ying yang and even though he was overweight, he was also strong. My mom always felt safe with him. She mentioned it all. the. time. She was very much in love with him and stayed loyal for over 10 years after he died. Not all women will go for a man who is overweight for a variety of reasons -- will he die, can he keep up, will he want to keep up, can he get *it* up etc. *But if you are 100% ok with who you are, like my dad was, then you can still get a good woman.*
However, if you're not 100% confident, then work on the things that you can that will improve your own esteem. :)

Henry Ford: Whether you think you can, or you think you can't -- you're right.
I'm disabled and my ex wife is also disabled. I will tell the story of one time we worked well together compensating for the other's disability, and will share one big difference between me and my ex. I am vision impaired, my ex has only one arm / hand that works correctly.
The time we worked well together I was driving a mountain pass at night and was driving really slow because I could not see well. This particular night it was pitch black, probably new moon. My ex said she could drive because she could see better, fair enough, it worked and she was able to climb the pass at a much more reasonable speed. We reach the summit, and now we're coming down the other side. She is having trouble controlling the speed of the car because she can't downshift, her one hand on the wheel doesn't leave a way to use the shifter. To compensate for her disability coming down the pass I am using the shifter as necessary to help her control the speed, while she is steering and using the peddles. When I learned to drive it was in a car with a manual transmission. Prior to this trip she thought I was downshifting the automatic transmission on mountain passes, "merely because I liked to shift."
One big difference between me and my ex, and why I started this comment with the Henry Ford quote. For me nothing goes on the list of things I can't do until I have proved I can't by trying several ways to complete the task, tried to figure out a reasonable accommodation. To date only two things are on the can't list: I can't arc weld, I can't make radioactive iodine capsules.

@@jeremycarpenter2731 yes ghosting is a frustrating experience, all you can do is move on& optimise your selections so if 1 disappoints you are unfazed. In the interim focus on developing yourself in every facet of your life.

Right. Look at this video of this guy that not only is in a wheelchair but needs her help to do everything from eating to pooping. She is one of the most beautiful woman I've ever seen.
    ruclips.net/video/5pWrZQZb4BM/видео.html.
At first I thought that they were already together before he became disabled, but she wrote to him first after seeing his video.
Your're right that it's easier for a guy in a wheelchair than it is for a woman. Maybe because women tend to be more inclined to care taking.

Exactly! I mentioned them in the video notes. People who judge others negatively do so because they perceive the world through their own limitations (from whatever awful things happened to them).

Better to be safe than "sore" I say ... here's a blog I wrote about disclosing STDs: wingmam.com/2016/11/when-should-i-disclose-i-have-an-std/
Not sure if it'll help but might give some insights. :)

If a guy is dating a woman in a wheelchair. He is looked at as a "Sexual Pervert" who's taking advantage of the disabled.🕵️‍♂️♿
If a woman is dating someone in a wheelchair, she's looked at as a "Gold Digger" and lazy. She's just living off of his disability money." Or The assumption he is rich and ready to die which makes her a Grave Digger. 💃⛏️⚰️💰💰💰
This is why I love Russian and Ukrainian women.
