Now thats an exceptional engine with that B58, and just a great vehicle to drive, and to park in your driveway each day! Quality piece of German engineering!👍
I’ve owned this car for over a year and a half and love it. It’s super fast, agile, all-wheel-drive, and you can haul stuff. The only downside is the seats, they do not have adjustable side bolsters. Make no mistake, this car is really fast and not having side bolsters has you sliding in your seat.
It is so gratifying to see BMW has retained the traditional dashboard. The computer generated window and digits on other models is a complete turnoff. I have a 2018 M40i. So reliable. So fast. BMW has kept the shape which I love. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I have a 2024 x3 30i , great ride . I test drove a 2024xm340 , tons of power , torque is incredible. I was not impressed with the ride it was still quite stiff. If I wasn’t in my 70’s I would prefer the m340 , then. Drove the x5 , sorry my old tired back is going for the x5
Great choice if you dont mind a bone rattling ride. Gen 1 x3 m40i with the smaller 19” wheels was smoother than this as a daily driver, sounded better too especially pre 2020.
Remote start is an option, but should be standard…also BMW doesn’t offer vented seats in most of their lower models. This is a beast with the inline 6…had it in my former M340 xdrive…was a powerhouse.
@pokerfred68 I have the M240i xdrive, and I love it, but depreciation with M lites is brutal! I'm buying a full M or AMG or RS model only next time around lol!!
Did you test any of the other x3M editions? I just drove an x3M and it was a little more harsh of a ride. Power was great. I wonder how the m40i compares with power/butt dyno.
Howdy! I hope you can help. I have this exact truck. I keep hearing an intermittent chime from the front inside of the truck. I brought it to service. They disconnected the speed alert, and speed trap alert.. but it still happens. When I turn up my radio volume it interferes with the music.. right before the chime the sound decreases, then goes back to normal. It’s almost as if the GPS is on. Can anyone help? It’s interfering with my concentration while driving.
Wow interesting changes 1:23 so this model clearly has side M badges, I don’t know if the dealer added these but this is the first and only time I’ve seen the side M badge on a *US SPEC* model. Also interesting to see the black badges on the back tailgate. I have a 2024 M40i delivered in Sept ‘23, with the black line package, and the rear emblems come stock chrome and there is no side emblems. So this must have been a VERY recent change, or the dealer added these things. BMW makes things so confusing. I already have found several irregularities on the X3 M40i vs the other M40 versions of other BMW models, I could make a whole video on it. Ultimately I think the X3 is the best value M40 version you can buy. (It also has the best steering wheel of all the M40’s)
@@gothops154 At my dealership a few of the guys who work there have made those exact mods to their own vehicles. They're not "supposed to" per BMW but do it anyway. They offered to do it for me $$ but I lease so didnt. The black badging looks really cool though!
The Sensatec is amazing. I have a 2018 with 76k and you cannot tell the seats from new - not one wrinkle, wear pattern from getting in and out, etc. I'm extremely happy with them and very glad they don't have leather standard.
People joke about bmw depreciation and it’s definitely true of the sedans. But any of their SUVs especially the X3 and X5 hold their value decently well. You cannot find 3 year old lower mileage highly optioned x3 m40i’s for under $45k… especially not with the adaptive cruise control package. Believe me, I was in the market for one and basically gave up… too hard to find.

What is that gonna do?
is it beacause you have the cooled seats?>
Mine does.

Test drove this as well. Personally I like this interior much more than the new one screen design.
Same here. Those full screens are ugly. I’m sure eventually it will grow on me.
Such a great daily. Its balance of all around is just amazing

How long did you keep the M340i? Great car!
@@speeddemon311 about 4 years…I’d buy another at some point.

Yes! My favorite car that I always like.
Great vehicle. Only issue is the depreciation hit in a few years. With this the last MY of its generation, steep discounts will happen of the msrp.
Just bought one
Love it .. thanks for the info

Is that the stock exhaust system?
I'll take it. 🙂
I like this better than the Mercedes just because of the inline 6. If Mercedes offered their inline 6 in the comparable model I’d rather have that
Amen
The GLC doesn’t even over vented seats in any package.
Is the price displayed without VAT? Thanks
What a cool car
You did not go through the various modes available on sport and comfort modes especially the comfort vs sport suspension.
Take a shot for every M badge you find on this car lol.
Mine has M badge delete! From factory.
Why can’t the m340i get the same door stitching and carbon fibre? Doesn’t make sense
The X3 M40i seems to be the best M40 variant if you look across BMW’s line up. Not sure why that is
Love it

Truck? This a a BMW SUV.
MUCH better than any other current SUV in BMW’s line up!
WRONG.
Nah. I have an X3M Comp that eats this for breakfast and is even more luxurious.
Cool? Mine has an S58 and eats this for breakfast.

@@markwoodruff402 possibly. I know it’s standard on EU specs but I’ve never seen it on US spec til this video. I thought maybe they changed something

Not having leather seats standard on a $70k+ luxury SUV is BS. $1700 upcharge for leather, and it's not even industry standard nappa. Come on BMW
Exactly why i went with Genesis GV70 3.5T. Interior blows this bmw out the water!

70K, I don't think so! NOT WORTH IT.
Oh it’s very well worth it. I have a 23 x3M40i well equipped very worth it and fun to drive. Definitely a sleeper !
So its not 400 hp

Talk slower!
don’t be so slow bro. heard him just fine.

Use 0.75 speed.
Buy used in 3 years when it is down to 40k

Payin 40k for a 3yr used vehicle with no warranty is crazy
Unfortunately it will lose $30k in just 2 years. 😢
Definitely makes a great second hand perfect daily pick mine up for 35k wth 19 thousand miles 2020 model msrp when new was 67k

I just found a 2019 X5 M40i with 23k for $47,998 and it immaculate!!
Black on black, lots of options!
So tempted RN
Not anymore… but the same could be said of the GLC43.
When in doubt Macan GTS🤣
