Tyler Henry, you deserve an award for doing this. It's nothing short of wonderful! My wife's had this on vinyl since 1974 and it's her favourite Sparks album. I'm extremely fond of it myself! Thanks so much 😎
I just returned from seeing "The Sparks Brothers" movie at my local theater where I was surprised and excited to learn that these concerts took place back in '08. How great to come home and be able to find them available on RUclips. As "A Woofer..." is my favorite Sparks album, I started here but plan to watch them all. These guys were and still are amazing! Thanks so much for sharing!
Ron, rightfully gets the adulation for his incredible compositions. However, he could not have done it without a performer that was his equal. The fact that Russel is 60-years-old (in this concert) and still sounds as awesome live after 40 years + of performing, speaks volumes. Other than in football, and the Davies(Kinks), are there any brothers this talented?
Growing up as a teenager to the release of Kimono & Propaganda, such amazing albums in '74/'75, it was just by chance when searching through the record racks in Virgin records, Kingston-upon-Thames, that I discovered Sparks had already recorded two albums prior to their UK chart success. My dad gave in to my upping of my pocket money so I could buy these first two LP's, bless him. Thinking they were probably gonna be like the early Queen & Alice Cooper albums which really were rubbish I couldn't believe the sounds I was hearing from this & Sparks/Halfnelson. They are really brilliant albums, every track a dynamite energy blast. So for a couple of years I had 4 Sparks albums to keep me going with no duff tracks anywhere. I never thought I would see Sparks play them live but these first two nights of the early albums were sensational. What a joy & thank you again Tyler for putting these gigs together with all the extra footage for us to enjoy. Wonderful memories, great stuff!!
One thing, love Sparks since first say them in '73 or '74 at the Santa Monica Civic. So much fun and funny. BUT, early Alice Cooper records were great too! Saw them in '72. Also fun. Guillotine and paper panties dropped from a plane on crowd at the Hollywood Bowl. Humor in Rock n Roll is best. Sparks are the best at it.
I cannot ever thank you enough for this amazing and unselfish gift. I have been a Spark since the Bearsville releases and this remains not only my favorite album of theirs, but one of my favorite records of all time. An amazing performance decades after the fact - these guys are ageless chameleon magicians!
So @bill … you’re hopefully aware they just completed their 2023 U.S. tour at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday July 16! By all accounts the boys put on fantastic performances across the country.
Tyler, I watched your vid years ago and I was also there at the Carling for 14 of the nights. It is long overdue I thanked you properly for posting. I just wish somebody in their management had had the good sense to professionally record this once in a life time event. Sue Harris says she was so pleased to stand in the wings and hear all this great music. FFS, you are their manager Sue, get your ass out of the wings and behind a professional camera and sound system.
A very unique album wooofer!I have this on actual album! As well as many other Sparks albums but this one im quite fond of quirky 🤪!I especially love the Louvre!
"Moon Over Kentucky" was the first song I ever heard by Sparks back in '72 on our local college radio station WRAS in Atlanta, GA. I was instantly hooked!
Thank you so very much for all your work in bringing all of this together. You have have made such a fantastic contribution to Sparks fans enjoyment of those incredible concerts. I remember going to the first two with my wife and feeling so lucky to ever hear them playing songs from those albums live. (I am the owner of the very loud clap in the background) We are also such lovers of London that to be able to spend 3 nights in our favourite city taking in all the tourist sights and enjoying the nightlife and restaurants (The Thai Cottage in Islington) will always be one of my most favourite memories. So once again thank you very much for all your work.
I have all the earliest Sparks albums cds etc ..I got the one produced by Rundgren in Scotland Woofer I'm not sure maybe Canada!Real collectors stuff now!
The original lp release on CD is hard to find under $2.5 million! I find Woofer to be my fav of these kooks!

The first two Sparks albums are still my favourites, along with “Big Beat”.
Their first 2 albums are so original. I like them most of all.

I still love the energy of Do Re Mi and the variety of sounds on these two albums.

Nothing is Sacred is absolutely fantastic!
I have owned this album since the early 1970s. Remarkable longevity. Love these guys from my hometown.
they were so so so far past it even here, 14 years ago.
Tyler Henry, thanks for your effort bringing this to us! How cool is it that they did a 2023 U.S. cross country tour?
