As a DMC fan I gotta say, you dont know how lucky you are. At least it's still Bayonetta and it still somewhat looks like a Bayo game. We waited years for another game after 4 and look what they gave us.
I don't know why, but from the teaser and this, I got the feeling this game is gonna go for the parallel universes trope. Different realities, different Bayonettas and all that jazz. That would explain the different aesthetic for the "angels" (if that's what they are), the loli Bayonetta, the dead Bayonetta in the teaser etc. And just before the logo, the multitude of magic seals also make me think that. But yeah overall... I don't really know what to think about this. It looks so much more "serious" than what I was used to. Wait and see I guess !
The trailer felt off to me. From the voice and designs to the gameplay and graphics. It's just missing the usual Bayo flair and polish imo. Mostly made me wanna go replay Bayo 1&2 again. :D
Bayo 1 Jeanne saves Bayo. Bayo 2 Bayo saves Jeanne. Bayo 3 Bayo saves herself. For the record the new character at the end looks like a guy instead of Jeanne.
I don't think this is the Same Bayonetta we been playing as since the 1st and 2nd Game...this might be another Timeline which is Cereza all Grown up from when you returned her back to her original timeline. If you remember from the 2017 Reveal of bayo 3 Something happens to her, so i think we are mostly going to be playing as Cereza in her own Timeline.
Also, project GG is not a red herring, and has nothing to do with anything PG has made before because it's their first self-published title. I would be extremely surprised to see it launch on Switch for that reason. Also, GG is a Kamiya game, and Bayonetta has been handed off. Kamiya is working on Bayo 3 in a much less hands-on capacity now VS Bayo 1
Every game that falls into Nintendo's claws becomes worse. What a shame. One day I will make a Yiutube channel and explain why since Bayonetta 2 the Bayonetta from 1 is morally dead.
Her design I believe is supposed to be portraying the famous gothic Lolita clothing style in Japan. Which makes sense considering the game is taking place in Japan most of the time.
Theirs a theory that this is not the bayonetta we know, but the Cereza that was in Bayonetta 1, and that is all in a different timeline, after she was returned to her timeline.
i agree with ur facial expressions in the first impression.. i am not the biggest fan of them big ass braids and i feel like we are going back to bayo 1 where they had a very golden tint to everything and how dull it was but for like navy blue and im a bit scared..

It did say not actual gameplay footage. Letting us know things will be tweaked of course Kamiya wouldn't allow Bayo to be "put to sleep"

The changes in design are understandable considering Hashimoto left, who was an even bigger part of Bayo brand identity than Kamiya himself, arguably.

Combat overhaul. The magic bar changed as well. It seems weaves and demon summons are now tied to it.
