Great job! where ya from, I heard you mention Edan and Riedsville. Are you close? My employer has a manufacturing plant in Mayodan where I used to travel too quite frequently until the plague hit. what tracks do you run?
I am glad you enjoyed it Mike! I am from Stoneville, NC which is about 10min from Mayodan. What manufacturer do you work for? I know Ruger firearms is a big one for Mayodan. I race at ACE speedway that is near Burlington, NC but may run some ay Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, NC and Franklin County Speedway in Callaway, VA this year as well. Come check us out if you are ever back in the Mayodan area!
I follow local the dirt late models and modifieds cause my family races. I wasn’t aware that the 602 engines are ran in both the asphalt and dirt racing world. I know u mentioned purchasing a another car and a 602 engine. So are you planning to keep ur current car with the current setup and buy a 602 series car?
Hello Josh, great question about the 602 engines! They have been around for awhile now and really took off at the dirt tracks first as a lower cost way to race compared to a “built” engine. They have finally started getting a good following on the asphalt tracks as an engine used in the limited late mode devisions. Recently many tracks and a regional touring series started putting them into the Modified’s and have slowly built decent car counts with them which is the reason I want to try it out. Right now the engine in my car performance and cost wise is between a 602 crate and full blown 600hp tour modified engine you would see at bowman gray stadium, but I can only run it at ACE Speedway so that limits me on places I can go. The first goal is to get the 602 and possibly run it in this car, then once the 2nd car is built or ready sell this one. Only have so much room, time, and money for one, at least for now lol.
