Asking who the killer is in Friday the 13th is only the first trick question. Seeing as how there are two killers and two doors to the house, which door the killer is at is also a trick question. They never had any intention of letting her live no matter what answers she gave.

Scariest thing in this movie are the doppelgangers of Johnny Depp and Seth Green.
Note Decker , Garage doors kill 20-30 people a year and injure around 20000. The heavier ones , like that wood one in the film could possibly do something like that to a person if the safety locks were not working and/or the mechanism set up in a non-standard way. The spring systems are very dangerous when under tension. They are nothing to be messing with if you don't know what you are doing, especially the big 1.5 HP/double car garage/heavy ones..

    • @donjean6590
      @donjean6590 3 года назад +3

Yeah we had one of those single door double garage ones. The door itself was metal with a metal frame and had 4 massive springs to tension it. We were in the process of replacing it due to how heavy and dangerous it was when the hook on one snapped.
That door use to come down with a hell of a thud and took effort to actually slow because of the weight.

"So who would be the mystical alternate reality director, and how would they butcher a self aware slasher?"
Rian Johnson, no question he'd fuck it up by trying too hard to 'subvert expectations'. He doesn't have the understanding/passion for the genre that Wes Craven does, so anything tongue in cheek or self aware would spend half its time obnoxiously winking at the camera about how stupid the whole thing is instead of letting the audience take the scary moments seriously. And he probably would have cast someone like Jada Pinkett as the lead, someone the audience wouldn't want to spend any time with.

There's so many fun facts about this movie!
1 for instance the guy playing ghost face voice was never seen by the cast which made it much more creepier an genuinely scary for the cast members!

Kevin Williamson also was inspired by news reports of the Gainesville Ripper, which was another actual case.

@TheCoolCarlWheezer He's talking about Danny Rolling, the infamous Gainsville ripper who would break into women's homes with a screw driver then would rape them before stabbing them to death with a K-BAR knife(a knife very similar to the buck 120 used in Scream). One of his murders was a Jock who was the boyfriend to one of the rape victims. After stabbing the boyfriend over and over until he stopped breathing, He broke into the bathroom the girlfriend locked herself into, bound her, raped her, then forced her to tell him what her parents number was so he could make them listen to their daughters screams as he stabbed her to death. Their murders are what inspired the opening scene in scream.

So who would be the mystical alternative reality director? Rian Johnson or Paul Fieg. How would they butcher it? By making the villain weaker, and the heroine able to overpower the villain too easily.

I agree mostly. I found a few pacing issues, mainly from when Sidney 1st encounters Ghostface to when the party starts it can drag a little. But once they hit the house party, the movie is just great. In a way, it really does feel like Craven shot it like he was shooting a teen comedy. Still, iconic and fun.

For the alternate universe Scream, my money would be on Paul Verhoeven, who would have made a fine film, but it would have been misunderstood as a genuine slasher, and it would have sunk.

I will give Scream this: I think it instilled a deep fear in me that I can't get rid of. Ever since I saw that movie, I keep thinking about how Casey was choked, then being so close to her parents they JUST have to turn around, calling for her mom but her voice is shot. Ever since then any scary dream I have I can't speak. I won't remember anything else about the dream except when I try to call out, my voice gets caught in my throat and I can't say anything.

    The movie officially turns 25!!!
Still amazed I watched it so young but loved it
My first introduction to Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, David Arquette
Really happy Wes Craven managed to revitalize the slasher genre in the 90s when it was starting to wane
Love all these 90s actors and this soundtrack
Kevin Williamson knew how to write dialogue for teenagers
Equally scary and equally funny deconstructing the horror movie tropes and cliches with tons of meta references
New Nightmare was the precursor but this solidified it
Very sad how all these murders stemmed from Sidney Prescott's mother but it all ties back
Scream also lead to the creation of caller ID on phones
Happy I got to dress up for Halloween as Ghostface
Super excited for movie 5 next month
