What an exciting matchup for the duet!! I am a fan of N Flying and admire Hweseung's voice a lot, and Chen is of course a master vocalist being part of EXO. I found the arrange of Chen getting most of the main melody of the first verse + chorus with Hwesung doing harmony, and then that flipping for the second half, and then them doing a powerful harmony together during the final chorus, so cool. Hweseung's 90 degree bow to Chen was so 😭

@@Tooba-K123 No, actually, Korean men can enlist between the ages of 18 and 30. It's just that the majority of idols train, debut and build up a fan base FIRST before going to the military. Hweseung did the opposite, he did his military duty as soon as he was eligible and THEN became an idol. I can't think of any other idol that did it the way he did to be honest. But it has worked for him!
@@taeblends that's cool to know. I've known that Korean men becomes eligible after 18 but I guess with time I forgot about it because they rarely enlist at young age. I always wondered why can't idols just enlist in early years or altogether but I guess getting a strong base is first priority and also because idols debut at such young age nowadays 😭😂
Just a random thought but I think hweseung's life is sooo random. From going to the military at a very young age (because his friend signed him up w/o his knowledge) to getting cast by FNC and joined pd101 only 6 months after he joined the company (boii danced to replay on his first appearance on pd101 and god forbid n.flying members to forget about his iconic "be mine" performance) to his viral duet with Hongki (the song called still loving you, and yes, he's the one that did the 6 high notes in the song and he was asked to do that most of the time on any show he attended 😭) to duetting with THE Chen himself. I'm pretty sure he had a pretty interesting life to tell in the future lol

This two are harmonizing ALL THE TIME even while jumping around on their stage performances. They harmonize so much to the point that they can do it instinctively, so u can say that harmonizing without even looking at his partner's faces was a piece of cake for Hweseung 😂

It is so difficult to disguise Chen's unique voice, but this song does a pretty good job of it. Choosing an English song surely made it more difficult for them to guess. They had to have prepared a lot for this song and not being able to see eachother. I really liked it! Chen & Hwe Seung, Fighting!

Chen's vocals are so unique, I was surprised Hwe Seung wasn't able to make a guess. This is the first I'm hearing Hwe Seung, but that he was able to not only keep up but hold his own in a song with Chen proves his own strong vocals. They both did so well-this is God's way of letting you know we need an official collaboration.
Hweseung can definitely hold his own, especially since he's a band vocalist who loves belting. Their voices matched so well -- we really need an official collab!
Hwe Seung can be forgiven. I had no idea it was Chen during his first song on Masked Singer in 2015 and I had been an EXO-L for two years by then. To this day I swear he disguised his voice on purpose because it is so distinctive. 😂

Chen is Chen like i am not surprise cos he just prove to yall why the crown of being the best kpop vocalist is safe on his head. like voice beautify this, i just love this. Also, HWE SEUNG this is the first time knowing him and the fact he hamonize well with Chen shows how strong he is as a vocalist, he nailed his part in this i really love his voice too. They both slayed hard on this.
So glad you got to hear Hweseung for the first time!! Harmonization is almost like breathing to Hweseung. Most of not all N.Flying songs is him harmonizing with Seunghyub, which is what really attracted me to the band. Hope you give them a listen!

When I saw this video on my front page it was so unexpected, but I also clicked so fast because I have heard of both and they're amazing vocalists, they're especially great when it comes to ballads and conveying emotion 😭
If you're interested in hearing more on Hweseung, he is part a rock band called N.Flying (they have some amazing songs and anime op covers if you're into rock stuff), but he also does solo stuff or collabs. He did a collab with Lee Honggi (Still love you) and that one is a very emotional and great vocal delivery. He does a great job at harmonizing. He's also appeared in Immortal Song 2.

3:41 it was so hard to just pick one moment, but this part with the final "Down"s gave me chills. their voices blend so well together, it really shows what incredible vocalists they both are. on their own they each have beautiful voices but together they sound heavenly. I WANT MORE CHEN X HWESEUNG CONTENT!!
