We finally got our hands on a 2016 Sierra Denali, and boy does it look good! The refresh for the 2016 model year came as a surprise to most of us. The major redesign from 2014 was still fresh and still looked amazing, however with a few subtle changes GM did it again. The 2016 GMC Sierra Denali looks better than ever before with its new LED projector headlamps and LED fogs to match it increases light output by over 20%. Denali's signature grill has been redesigned to flow with the rest of its facelift, and magnetic ride control has been added to the line for the first time ever. Apple car play keeps you connected, and wireless charging lets you lose the cables. Let us know what you think of the restyling, we love to hear from you!

Honestly in my opinion GMC is the best truck to get, magnetic rod control, highly advanced headlights, comfortable inside with all the special features, metal trimming, this truck is full of premium material, a lot of people don't realize how high class GMC is.
I'm a Mopar guy myself, have a 2015 Hemi Ram, and before this truck, had an 05 Hemi Sport Ram, and a Dodge Stratus, but I gotta say, this Denali is one slick looking truck

Best truck out right now. But a few improvements could be made though. Like AC/heat vents for the back, along with heated seats, push button start, a panoramic sunroof, and a 360° camera too. Still a pretty gorgeous truck, and even without the stuff that may be missing, I think I may pick one up on a lease very soon. 😉
This is a nice truck. Good review too. I don't know why people complain about a $60,000 truck, that it has no purpose or whatever etc....If you want a work type truck, or one more basic than this, then get one. There are plenty of options in the truck market and there are people who want something like this. It is expensive though, no doubt, maybe too much, but there is a market for a luxury type truck. If I had to pick one thing negative, there are no heater/ac controls for the back seat.....didn't see it on the back of the console stack, unless it is somewhere else? If there is none, it should be for $60,000

***** Yes, I know where there vents are located for passengers sitting in the back. Vents are always usually located in such an area, under the seats. But I was talking about the controls.....there are vehicles today where passengers sitting in the rear have the option of controlling the AC/heat for themselves in the rear....usually located on the back of the center console. For $60,000, I would expect something like that. But hey, not condemning this truck at all...it's great....just pointing out one negative thing which we all could find in any vehicle. I think all the big three trucks are nice including this GMC I am not brand loyal as long as its a American vehicle. I have a 2016 black on black Ram 1500 Limited with 6ft4 inch box air suspension and I love it. I can not see anyone going wrong with any of these compared to trucks of even 15 years ago.
Trucks have made serious changes in the past few years, I can't wait to see what the next 10 years brings us!

Ford still stomps all over this truck. The Denali is the highest available trim line, yet it doesn't have power running boards, power folding mirrors, a tailgate step, trailer backup assist, etc. Not to mention the very cheap looking interior. All of these options come on Ford trucks, without even going up to the highest trim line package. The Platinum and Limited both have these and I believe it is also offered on the Lariat now.
+Charlie Adolf, III tailgate step, GM has the bumper step you dont have to set up just step on it, trailer back up assist if you cant back up a trailer you shouldnt be fucking towing!. Running boards are for fat people.
as for the "cheap looking interior" i can tell you the touch of the GM trucks is just as good as the fords.
+Andrew C The bumper step cutout is 4 inches wide, versus a 24 inch wide step with a grab handle on the ford. Not to mention the hydraulic retracting side step on the 2016 F-150. And I agree, you shouldn't be towing if you can't back up a trailer, but why turn down nice features for self satisfaction? I can back up a trailer just fine, but if Ford wants to provide me with a feature that assists me, I'm going to use it. Your ad hominem claim that "running boards are for fat people" is a pitiful argument. It's quite evident that you are standing up for something you know deep down inside is the loser. I'm not saying that GM doesn't make a good truck. I'm saying that Ford makes a better truck. And oh yeah, Ford didn't have to be bailed out by the government.
Charlie Adolf, III ford took a bailout in 2006, bumper step has worked fine for me and you dont have to go through a process to get it out, IMO its a useless feature gurantee id try and counter steer with the little knob, that "feature" is just another way to get some more $$ out of the big money truck buyer thats all!. I know deep down is the loser? not at all those running boards are just another thing to break get stuck down and hang on a rock if you go offroad. not to mention ford uses 2 mounting places for running boards, gm uses 4. when i step my massive 160 pound frame on my brothers 2015 f150's running boards they actually bend down about an inch! as for who makes the better truck, personally i like both but the GM's handle so much nicer. i do find it funny youre on a GM video bitching about the Sierra, i suggest you leave
+Andrew C Just a way to get more money out of a truck buyer? The 2016 F150 Platinum MSRP is around $61,000, making it a few hundred more expensive than the Sierra Denali. Keep in mind, that's for a twin turbo, fuel efficient (as efficient as most full size trucks can be) vehicle that can pull almost 13,000 pounds. As far as handling, I'm not going to argue about that, because in my opinion, that's all based on the preference of the driver. While I'm sure the power folding running boards on the F150 have gotten stuck in a few fluke situations, it has never been a problem for me. These trucks are built to accommodate mild off road obstacles, but let's face it, if you're having to go somewhere where ground clearance is an issue, a stock suspension, $60,000 truck isn't for you. In the case that you are in an off road situation though, these running boards stay folded up when not in use, making one less thing to get hung up. So what was your point? 2 brackets versus 4 brackets, sounds like a big difference, but in all honesty, they're both built to hold as much weight as will be getting in or out of the truck. And as far as the rear steps go, that's another taste/applicablity thing. Personally, I'm in the construction industry, and when I'm trying to load 80 pound bags of concrete into the truck, it is convenient to drop down the step once and be able to access the bed by stepping on a huge, sturdy step, rather than having to grab on to something and pull myself up from a single foot cutout. If you're worried about me critiquing the truck shown in a public video, then YOU are the one that needs to go elsewhere. I'm not trolling, I am simply pointing out the obvious design flaws this truck has. If the poster of the video is worried about the criticism I share, then he should not have posted it. The difference between you and I is I will look at a truck for what it brings to the table, not for the logo on the grille. All of these trucks have design flaws, or features that could be improved. For example, the rear sliding window on the 2015-16 F150 is bordered by glass, making it impossible to put long pieces of trim through the cab (something I frequently do with my 2013 Platinum). I'm willing to point that out, but you seem to not be able to accept that the truck you're defending has flaws? You, sir, are the one that needs to leave.
I told my wife the other day if we win the 1.6 billion dollar lottery I would buy a new 2016 GMC pick up,oh well I can only dream.I like when they use to say "It's not more then you need,it's more then your used to".

That's no longer lane departure warning. That's lane keep assist. What this does is when you start to drift out of your lane, the truck very lightly moves the steering wheel a little bit to help get the truck back in its lane.

I like the 6.2 v8, the sound is incredible and can tow with ease! Have a friend that installed twin turbo to his 6.2 denali to race and that truck is unbelievably fast!!!

I have no issues with my 2013 Crew no window rattles or any other issue. I had a 2001 GMC extended cab Z71 4WD it was the worst truck I've ever owned was in the garage more than I drove it and had 50,000 miles and the issues are just too long to list so I traded and bought a 2004 F150 Lariat extended 4WD that was the same spent $13,000 on repairs and the rust and paint peeling was crazy. This is my experience and to date Ram out shines and this is only my opinion.

I seen this truck compared to my 2015 . I think the Grill is to small doesn't have that bold look no more. Still a very nice truck but basic the same just missing some features. Look like they were trying to keep up with the modern look of the FORD. GM introduce a new body Style and in 2 yrs a face lift, very smart to stay competitive .

What did they do with the heat extractors that used to be on the back seat? It would spit out hot air to the people in the back and I thought it was kind of redundant when you had the cooled seats on.

+Dan D I have heard nothing confirmed as far as the LT4 being offered in the Denali. Currently the 420hp 460tq 6.2L V8 in the Denali is an Ecotec3 not an LT4.

Nice Truck , i got a 2014 S.Denali Truck but i do not think i would replace it with another GMC unless GM add more convinent and smart solutions especially on their Denali version like the one i have ... i would like to see a sliding down whole rare window glass like that of Tundra and a panoramic sun roof like that of Ford F150 !!! i want to see that on 2018 truck if they want real shift to include a bigger market of general population ... i like more smart bed components or at least adds on accessories options ... for such vehicle ,their should be a front camera if not side and clerance under car cameras as well !

Did they put the rear cab heating and air conditioning vents back in, or do the rear passengers still have to freeze or fry? My 2005 Sierra Denali had far more creature comforts for the rear seat passengers than the new ones. Sometimes I shake my head at what GMC engineers are thinking.

The real question is "Does it have power box lock?" My 2015 doesn't! But it has everything else imaginable...

with Ford, Dodge, Toyota, and even Nissan offering a push to start button on their trucks as an option, really confused as to why GM hasn't done it
+barraza jr Ford, Dodge, Toyota, and Nissan don't have Magnetic ride control, don't have apple car play, don't have intellilink, don't have a motor that can compete with the 6.2...the list goes on. A push to start button isn't very high on the consumer demands list, and many truck buyers still want to turn a key. I'm sure in the near future there will be an option for push to start, but for now it's really not that big of a deal not to have it imo.

Interesting the coolant temp gauge was reading 210 that's a tad high. I have a 20 year old tahoe that runs about 199-200. 210 is nothing extreme just kind of odd a brand new vehicle running slightly hotter then normal. Unless you just ripped the hell out of it or towed something before you made this video?
most of the diesels run a bit hotter, plus its actual is like 185, just set up that way on the gas rigs...guess hotter it gets, better effiency

2016 silverado looks better IMO. As an owner of a 2014 slt I must say that as luxury spaceship-like this design refresh looks esp on the front end, it seems like they just took a sanding block to all of the boxy 90 degree edges and added more chrome-clad plastic parts. Wtf is up with the black empty spaces around the headlights for 2016?? It hurts me to say it, but the new f150s blow this out of the water in terms of exterior looks. Ford's design looks much more proportioned geometrically and the lines, cutouts/scallops, headlights and other accents seem to blend together better giving a sharper look. Having driven a new ecoboost f series I must say that I love my sierra over the f series in terms of acceleration and interior comfort/convenience.
Looks sexy on the outside but inside is questionable in my opinion.
Wish someone can make a truck with GMC's exterior and Ram's interior. ;(
