If you are watching this video or any of Chris video's let me put your mind at ease. When I saw his Glock 26/27 hydrographic project in black marble on top of red base coat I really was blinded by the beauty so much that I too contacted Chris and asked how do I get my own customized slide and magazines base attachment done. Needless to say I just got my slide and mags bottoms done by ATF Hydrographics and Chris nailed it my boring and look a like G26 as everyone else's now really is Impressive ! By the way when you get your items back they look totally fascinating in the flesh ! Thanks again Chris for everything I look forward towards building another project and having you give it the WOW factor !
Dude. The whole reason I enjoyed the red and black is because I'm from Athens, Georgia. Go Dawgs! It also got you a new sub. Just googled you, and I'm an hour and 22 minutes away. I'll be down there one day for sure.
We hope everyone enjoys this video. If you are looking for another one of our cool hydrographics videos here is one that you may be interested in watching where we dipped a cool helmet in custom candied paint!: ruclips.net/video/INFhoWWX61E/видео.html
Use One Hit Wonder Paint, no primer needed. But if you use a paint that requires priming is not difficult at all... spray 2 coats and its done, move on to the base coat.
Love your videos and in fact I will be giving u guys some of my business very soon. Your music during ur videos is a bit rough . Lol no seriously I love your videos
That video is older, from before I realized the audio levels were all over the place and not everyone liked death metal lol. I struggled my first year on youtube because I am nearly deaf in both ears and I could not tell during editing that the volumes were so out of wack. Once Enough people complained about it I fixed it on all newer videos after that.
The owner if that gun is a.i.engraving, you can hit him up on instagram and see how its holding up. We dont recommend EDC in a kydex holster but leather and synthetic materials are fine. If it's a EDC gun then we will cerakote it, but even cerakote wears off eventually in a kydex holster

All Things Fun Hydrographics definitely going to look into this. Even though I’ve found something specifically made to make my slide glock | fade, but I’d want to know if you could do glock| water elemental
Yes we do add clear coat to protect the dip. You can choose between gloss of flat. We have a video in our frequently asked questions playlist explaining the clear coats. No it does not scratch easily, we have guns with years of use and no scratches at all. We tape off all areas that have friction on the slide so there is no interference with the function of the gun or racking the slide.

Yes, it will last forever if you dont abuse it. Its much like the clear coat on a car. Dont drive it into a ditch and clean it every now and then... it will stay looking good.
What a great video gave it a thumbs up ! Plus now that I know a little more of this hydrographics I am gonna save some ching ching to get a glock slide customied like yours. By the way which green color did you show us from the yellow red and green palette samples ? Wish you the best and GOD bless you !!!
Forever if you take care of it, it is permanent. With normal use it will not wear off. If you abuse your guns it will need to be repaired at some point.
Our primer, paints, and clear coats are all specially formulated for the commercial hydrographics industry. Yes we applied a high gloss clear to the slide after it was dipped to protect the dip. All of our projects are coated either in flat or high gloss to protect the dip. We have a video in our frequently asked questions playlist that goes over all the clear coats if you would like to know more about them.
Gun oils will not hurt the finish at all. Just dont use things like powder blast and bore cleaners because they usually contain acetone which will eat the finish off. We use Freedom Lube for all our gun parts because it works good and never harms hydro dipped finishes.
That is our high impact gloss clear. It has a natural amazing brightness to it. The only thing that sucks about it(for us not for the customer) is we only get one chance to spray it. That stuff is so freaking hard it wont sandblast off. With regular clear we can wet sand any imperfections and re-spray to make it nice and flat, the high impact clear doesnt sand off. We have to soak it in acetone for about a day then scrape it off and start all over.
We normally recommend against DIY kits. You will waste more money trying to learn how to dip on your own than you would if you just had a professional company do it for you. We have had several customers spend hundreds and thousands of dollars trying to dip things themselves, when it would have only cost then a few hundred to have it dipped professionally. As for your question about rubbing off, we use high quality 2k clear coats that will protect the dip and keep it looking good for a long time.
We have several videos on our channel explaining the entire process and even a frequently asked questions playlist that goes into detail on how Hydrographics works.
We have been using hydrographics on guns for years and they hold up well. The hardest clear coat is the high impact clear and that stuff can barely be sandblasted off after it cures. Is that water that you are spraying on top of the film befor you dip it ?
No it's not water. It's called activator, it's a bunch of chemicals that turn the film ink back into a liquid

Ok, but what kind of paint did you use? What did you clear coat it with? Did you paint the inside of the slide as well?
